  • Perfect Golf (beta) for Skytrak

Perfect Golf might look like a great game but has way too many bugs, even for an early access game still under development. It has a very long way to go before it can be mentioned in the same sentence as TGC, E6, ProTee and Red Chain. There is no AI, no stats, no tournament play and online play servers crash frequently. It currently has 10 courses and no stable (commercially) released version.

Price is unknown, but keep in mind you will be buying a beta product.

  • Shame that they couldn't release together honestly. Perfect golf is really excellent. Multiple tees, multiple pins, great courses, different green speeds and firmness conditions, and great tournaments.

    • There are some features of PG that really interest me.. I guess first thing's first, I'll give my simulator area a revamp (I'm installing flooring and surround sound) and hopefully I'll hear a bit of news before I'm done.

      • Same as you chaps - my sim room is just about finished and I think I will pull the trigger on TGC seeing as PG is not ready , I may also add PG later depending on how much I like TGC as the price of PG is reasonable.

        • I'm still holding out for PG. After playing both TGC and PG on the PC (not full sim), I really like the natural feel of PG and the flexibility of multiple tees. I love links courses, and I've really enjoyed playing Bandon Dunes on PG. (My avatar is Hole #6 at Bandon Dunes.)

As far as full-sim options go, any courses that are longer than 6,000 yards are tough for a short-hitting senior like me. Fortunately, golf courses in my part of the Midwest will be opening soon, so the pressure on having an indoor sim will be lessened somewhat in the short-term - but I'm still likely to get pretty impatient if PG for ST isn't released within the next month or two.

          • Saw new activity on the PG thread and thought.... could it be?

            sigh....

            No posting here until release!

            • Damnn... I'm waiting, like you SDL I live in the Midwest, near Chicago, and it's supposed to be in the 60's next week. I'll be waiting until next Golf Sim season now, and hopefully by then, PG will be released, and there will even be comparisons side-by-side with TGC, either way, it still might be best to own them both, but I do enjoy the multiple tee boxes on PG, and I have 2 little ones that will require short tees as they are only 5, and 7 years old.

Bubba, I've been playing at local pubs on E6, and GC2/Foresight. I have the PC/Steam versions of TGC and PG to test the realism on my PC. I'll need to tear the ceiling off the family room and go cathedral ceiling on that, and setup the cord runs down to my basement office. I'm hoping I'll be able to get this all in place by next golf-sim season.

What hardware system do you plan to get?

Bubba22 - ST, is my choice, unless for some reason I can afford GC2, which at nearly double the cost, is not likely. I'm thinking I can pickup the hardware system, finish up my sim (netting, screen, mat), and do the work I need in the family room (opening up the ceiling) for the cost of GC2 by itself!

              • SkyTrak_Seth : Any hints on whats happening with PG and the online store if you know?

                  • From THE trusted source at Perfect Parallel:

We are done on our end. Perfect Parallel is waiting for approval from SkyTrak for a launch. They have requested a two stage launch

                    1) Users who already own a skytrak and PG can just go to their site and activate it
                    2) New Users who are purchasing a SkyTrak can sign up for PG and get PG distributed by SkyTrak.

This is huge for current Skyrak users that bought PG on Steam. It means that Skytrak doesn't need to wait for PG retail keys. Once they approve this (stage 1), Skytrak users will be able to purchase PG sim access from Skytrak's site and get their units activated for PG.

This is all I know. Don't shoot the messenger if this doesn't happen quickly. Hopefully SkyTrak_Seth can validate, or even better, get this pushed across the finish line.

                    • Thanks for the info! It's at least enough to encourage me to be just a little more patient before jumping on the TGC bus.

It does however put the spotlight right on you... which be both good or bad.
