My skylark was working fine. Then suddenly the software starts hanging up.. Big delays while the ball is in the air. Then it restarts then delays again. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling. Seems like sync never syncs. The interface seems buggy.. I have to tap several times on the screen to go from app to settings. Works fine in direct mode. My internet is very fast so that can't be it. Also works fine with WGT. Problem points to sky golf server maybe???

Skytrak sync problem?

Mine will not sync period. It did for a while at my other home. What is frustrating is we all paid for this. It does not work as advertised and Sky Golf continues to advertise these features.. Seth has worked with many of us to try and resolve the sync issues, but to no avail. As consumers what are we to do? Some of us were under the impression the GIP was a one time purchase and later we were told that it was a yearly subscription. I have owned mine about 9 months, I have lost numerous sessions due to sync issues. The 360 Golf GIP feature simply does not work for a lot of people. Sky Golf then sends me an email that they will extend my GIP for and additional $99.00 1/2 off. I should pay another $99.00 for something that never worked in the first place? Hey Sky Golf, what about taking care of your existing customers? Do we count? Does anyone in your company (besides Seth) really care. SkyTrak simply does not perform as advertised. Nine months later I'm still "Waiting to Sync".

add me to the list of those having connect/sync problems. The timeline for me is something like:
started using around Dec 2014, had intermittent connection problems, but not a big deal. Syncing wasn't very good, but back then it was a known issue. It didn't really impact the app and how quickly it rendered shots.
at some point after one of the releases (not sure if it was 1.9 or 2.0) the "waiting to sync" and interfering with rendering shots, stuttering problem was introduced. At that point, I just always logged out of the app since the app was unusable if logged in/trying to sync. I sometimes had connection problems, but it wasn't too bad.
2.1.1 is released. After first installing, it took a long time (an hour?) to initially sync. But then, for the first few days, everything was great. No stuttering, syncing to skygolf, great! But this very quickly, over the next few days/weeks, went downhill. I've given up on staying logged in again. And the worst part is, I sometimes can't get connected at all. I'll shutdown the app and skytrak and retry, and the Skytrak stays "red, red, green" - the network light doesn't budge to yellow/green at all. It's like it doesn't see my network at all. I'll try switching network-to-direct and back and nothing changes. Weird thing is, come back in the next day and it connects.
Personally, I think this may be tied to variations in router & networks, or possibly cases were the local network is saturated. It also seems like the Skytrak gets confused or stuck and can't switch between direct and network mode. I've noticed that sometimes the Skytrak won't show up at all in my iPhones network connections. If I reboot my router, that seems to clear that up and then I can connect. This could also point at network saturation since I've likely kicked my kids off their computers at that point. I also have Apple Tv's going, so there's a lot of activity on my network.

Did you try to use direct mode and then go back to network mode? That basically started my "WAITING TO SYNC..." my problem. Let's hope Seth SkyTrak_Seth comes back after the holidays and helps us fix these sync problems once and for all.
Meantime, happy new year all!

Hi everyone,
Well I deleted the app a couple of weeks ago & setup fresh for the ??? time.
I've had no problems syncing since, while the unit was on my home networks & have connected every time to WGT. The interesting thing is Skytrak ran better with no lag on displaying ball flight once I re-installed the app.
Anyway, over the holiday break I've been busy working & tonight is the first time I've been able to get to the range. As soon as I got back, the damn thing won't sync again.
Really getting sick of this now. I totally agree we are paying for something that doesn't work as it should.
Seth, you said you have tested & you can't see any problems in getting the units to sync.
Can you video a session on & off your network & post it for us, to make sure that everyone is doing the correct thing?
Just a thought. Nige

So, you can now add me to the list of not syncing. Everything had been working just fine for months, then 2 days ago it would not sync. I had this issue when I first bought the unit but it just started working one day. I can use the unit and hit balls, but it either says waiting to sync or not synced. I have used it quite a bit so why now? Is there some sort of bug in the system? I have tried everything for the last 2 days to try and get it to work, but nothing. My last time synced was boxing day. I will keep at it but this issue needs to be corrected. It should not be this hard to do. Not after this amount of time.

Looks like my original problem when I purchased came back to haunt me. So I tried changing networks (wifi) on my system. I put the ST onto my main wifi network but it would not connect. It would not even connect to ST so I could do nothing with it. Would not recognize the network. I deleted the app (which I had already done on the old network) and reinstalled. Changed the network back to the secondary network (Guest) and it hooked up to ST and now shows synced!!!!!! I have lost everything from after Dec. 26th. I had a friend of mine from Score Golf who is associate publisher who hit balls with my ST. I was going to send him his data. So now I have to explain to him what happened. Again. I will hit balls tomorrow downstairs and see if it will sync. I sure hope they get this figured out soon.

Okay, it syncs. I went downstairs and chipped 4 balls. I could not wait. It showed it was synced immediately after each shot. It also shows in history. I don't really know which part of what I did earlier fixed this so still a little unsure what to do next time. I will just follow this thread to see what everyone comes up with. Cheers

Right,
I hit a couple shots today on the home network & within 20 seconds they were showing on the web.
The ones from the session last night at the range didn't sync though! Left it 24 hours now & nothing. The iPad has been on all day.
So off to the range again & guess what, the data won't sync once I've come back.
So, I setup at home & hit 1 ball out of the patio doors ( as it's raining AGAIN) & as soon as I'd finished the session, it was up on the web .
The session from the range tonight still is waiting to sync though!!
Any thoughts any one?
Seth, is there any log files you can look at which would say why it's not syncing as soon as it's removed from the home network?
Btw, can we have an export to CSV as well as PDF.
To get round the problems, I've been exporting all data but it's a pain converting a PDF to excel. Just a thought!

If connected to WIFI, it syncs right away and probably marks it in the local database as "synced". On the range, it goes in the database "unsynced" and the process that goes thru the database and syncs is broken.
That's what I think anyway. This could help explain why, once you start having sync issues, it gets worse. I suspect by now I have a few hundred shots "unsynced" locally. Not that that should matter - it's really a tiny amount of data.

Agree w dsailer. SkyTrak_Seth, can we get a fix for this or at least recognize it's a problem that needs to be fixed ASAP. Thanks.

New UK user (lovely Xmas present) but I too have the same 'waiting to sync' issue. If I start from scratch (by re-installing the app) and running in network mode then (apart from too many missed shots) I don't seem to have a problem. However if I use the ST in direct mode and then try and sync when back on a wi-fi network two things happen - firstly it does not sync, no matter how long I leave it, and second if its still waiting to sync when I use it again in network mode the ball flight tracker takes over 30 seconds to complete its flight, stop/starting a couple of times and almost freezing in flight.
The only solution to get rid of the waiting to sync issue - please return to the start of my post and .......re-install the app! But then you lose all the data!
There seem to be too many users on this forum, on both sides of the pond, for this to be a country specific or individual user issue. Hopefully Seth or SkyTrak_Seth will help us all soon. Its a great bit of kit, but these are bugs that should have been sorted by now.

for real, you think they would take care of this by now? no they're to busy hiding versions of software from us downloading because they dont want to release it...ive said it before and i'll say it again, its amateur hour over there. they have a great hardware product but the rest of it is nubs

I totally agree. It's like buying a new car and paying more for some extra features like a fancy communication software package, but after leaving the dealership you realized the GPS doesn't really work or onboard computer is not functioning properly, you call the dealer but they just don't seem to care... And the biggest slap in the face is at least the car dealers are not charging you an annual fee for the supposedly fancy package that does not work as described...
