My skylark was working fine. Then suddenly the software starts hanging up.. Big delays while the ball is in the air. Then it restarts then delays again. I have tried uninstalling the software and reinstalling. Seems like sync never syncs. The interface seems buggy.. I have to tap several times on the screen to go from app to settings. Works fine in direct mode. My internet is very fast so that can't be it. Also works fine with WGT. Problem points to sky golf server maybe???

Skytrak sync problem?

I started experiencing the sync problem from a couple of days back. Like many others, it happened after I used 'direct' connection and switched to 'wifi'.
It is frustrating to see the looping slowness. The next version must fix this problem as well as put a button to stop 'syncing' manually. It is not user friendly at all.
What I just did this morning is to uninstall the app and reinstall it. On the initial launch, the app asked to log in to Skygolf 360 and I logged in and then I turned on Skytrak and connect to it via the wi-fi mode. After 10 minutes or so, I finally saw the sign 'Data synced'. One thing I know is that I will never use 'direct' to avoid this problem.Last edited by hks8888; 01-16-2016, 02:27 PM.

Forget about sync being able to work as advertised after paying $100/year for GIP. If cannot use in direct mode (or else will cause ST to slow down due to syncing issue) then the $2k unit itself is no longer portable as advertised too. Agree - this needs to be fixed ASAP.

AndyF, so for you after using direct mode, it does not get into this endless "WAITING TO SYNC..." loop in network mode that slows down display of ball flight on your app? I now keep my iPhone 6 only on direct mode (to be used on range) so it keeps all my history from direct mode sessions and my iPad Mini 2 on network mode so it syncs all my network mode sessions - and does not slow down my app in either as my iPhone 6 in direct mode does not try to sync and my iPad Mini 2 in network mode syncs because I never switch it to direct mode.

I only use mine as a launch monitor at the range so I don't really have the need to switch between network and direct sessions. I don't put it back into network mode now as I know it won't sync anyway so I just keep it in direct mode all the time.
I agree that this means you have to keep track of your data manually or just using the history on the app but it's a temporary fix for me that gets me by until they get around to fixing the problem.
Have you heard anymore from Seth about it recently?

I finally got around to hooking up my ST to a PC using a wired USB connection. I thought it would sync faster over a wired connection, but it actually syncs faster via wireless on my iPad 2 Mini. Sync was slow enough on the PC that I wasn't sure at first if it was going to sync at all.

I was having some sync issues. It has worked great for the last week. No reasoning behind it. I did not do anything differently. I just thought if I complained and the problem resolved itself I should post it. Good luck to all.

I am as everyone else having sync problems after doing a Direct session..It seems that I will just have to grin and bear it...On an Ipad try and change the temperature to a single digit ...!! You can't !!! Shame really as they seem to be more interested in getting the unit as a simulator than as a Launch Monitor .I am exporting all to a pdf ( pain ) would have been much better as an excel file !!

Ok, I'm stuck now as the unit won't sync at all. It will still connect to WGT on the network but doesn't sync at home or the range.
Only thing I can do now is reset it & lose all the sessions not backed up. What a load of **********. We shouldn't have to do this SKYTRAK!!!!!
Has anyone looked at the log files that the unit produces? From what I can see, the unit just fails to connect to the sky caddie website. This should be easy for you to fix.

Ok add me too the list. I was having no problems with the app in network mode. I went to the dome to make sure my unit was reading hybrids and drives correctly. It was!!! I returned home after using direct mode in the dome to go to network mode. My app kept spinning the sync and i could hardly input anything because it was freezing so much. On the range, i was experiencing missed shots and balls pausing in the air. When i got into the history, it didn't even have my session from the dome? ??? Reinstalled app and i think all is well but i lost my session and had a mess to deal with at home. Unuseable range but wgt was fine.
Is that a common occurrence for everyone? Export results next time? Have to reinstall after every direct mode?

From my experience, after I go to direct mode without hitting balls and I return to network mode. In this case, the 'sync' issue doesn't occur.

From my experience, after I go to direct mode without hitting balls and I return to network mode. In this case, the 'sync' issue doesn't occur.

As soon as the app is reinstalled, that's it, the sessions that won't sync are gone.
I setup the network again last night to see if that would do anything but it's not worked. Still won't sync.
From what I can see, it's the app not talking to the website, period.
If it goes on much longer, then legal action might be the only thing left?

Back to the range tonight for the first time in a while, but guess what, yep it won't sync the data. All 137 shots.
Have had to export to PDF again.
Same error on the log file, It can't find the Skycaddie account. It will only sync on the home network.

So basically it looks like putting SkyTrak in Direct mode causes sync issues. Can you setup a hotspot on your phone, then connect Skytrak to that wifi, so it will use network mode even when on the range? Just thinking if that will work...

Just tried and it worked as long as hotspot is being made via a different phone, i.e. not the device running the skytrak app. I setup a hotspot on separate phone and then connected both skytrak and my iOS device to that network and it was able to connect just fine then.
I also tried creating the hotspot on the same device as the skytrak app and that does not work.
I guess I will carry my spare phone when I go to the range with skytrak.
