  • SkyTrak @ PGA Show 2016

    Figured I'd get this rollin'.

Taking centre stage, literally, at SkyCaddie’s booth #1301 at this year’s PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Florida, will be the highly-rated and award-winning SkyTrak personal launch monitor / golf simulator.

Since stocks reached the UK in November 2015 SkyTrak has drawn consistently positive reviews from the golf clubs and golfers who placed an early order, and the 2016 PGA Merchandise Show represents the perfect opportunity for UK PGA professionals and retailers making the trip to Orlando to try it for themselves.

And one visitor to the SkyCaddie booth will walk away with a valuable bonus this year, as everyone who has a SkyTrak demonstration at the 2016 PGA Show will be entered into a free prize draw to win their own SkyTrak system.

Alongside SkyTrak will be SkyCaddie’s world-class line-up of GPS distance measuring devices, set to be boosted by some new GPS product announcements to be made at this year’s Show. SkyCaddie’s popular SkyPro, now firmly established as golf’s leading personal swing analysis and training device, is expected to be another big attraction.

“Although it has only recently come into general use, SkyTrak is already being acknowledged as truly game-changing new golf technology throughout the industry” said SkyCaddie’s Senior Vice-President International Sales & Marketing, Jacqui Surman.

“With more and more PGA professionals now using SkyTrak for club fitting and coaching, and with the fast-growing amount of golf courses available to play through SkyTrak in golf simulator mode, SkyTrak’s powerhouse features set at an equally powerful price point is proving unbeatably attractive – and we’ve only just got started as regards using SkyTrak to its full potential.

“It will undoubtedly be one of the stars of this year’s Show, and we expect it to attract a large number of first-time visitors to our booth – where they will also find our best-ever line-up of GPS devices and the ever-impressive SkyPro too”.

Tom Field, Head Pro at The Wychwood GC in the Cotswolds, was one of the early adopters of SkyTrak in the UK. “In the first week I would say that we sold nine extra sets of golf clubs because we had a SkyTrak on hand, so it’s been a revolution already in that aspect” he said. “I already view our SkyTrak as essential for our custom-fitting operation here.

“SkyTrak does what other far more expensive launch monitors do, but at a fraction of the price. With the added simulator functions, it will help us to expand our business and offer a buying and entertainment experience which the internet cannot offer”.

Tom Atkinson, Head PGA Professional at Heswall GC on The Wirral, was another of the first UK customers for SkyTrak. “In just the first week I used SkyTrak to do a wedge gapping fitting, and entertained a group of golfers with a Nearest The Pin challenge when the course was temporarily closed during torrential rain” he said. “We’ve already sold one SkyTrak to a member, with another group pledging to club together to buy one for shared use.

“The SkyTrak graphics are simply stunning. We easily hooked it up to our big TV and had no problem running the WGT Golf sim software, which looks incredible and very lifelike. Also, as there are no cameras to set up, it’s a piece of cake to switch it for a left-hander to use.

“It’s an incredibly good piece of kit which we will use a lot this winter, let alone during the season. I already feel that SkyTrak is adding value to our memberships at Heswall GC, which is absolutely crucial these days”.

What a joke. That's to bad that this process is in the hands of fat greedy pigs who only care about the last dollar.

This is all it is, protecting every last dollar. That's to bad all you skytrak guys.

Honestly at this point if it is going to be more than next week before the sims release it can be November for all I care. I wont be paying for one to use at this point because they are all subscriptions and I won't be using them for long enough this season at this point to get any value out of it.
It was 60today it will be 60tommorow and 55 on Sunday and I will be playing golf outside all three days. Then it looks like more snow and cold for a couple of weeks. I live in the midwest and by the first week in March last year it was 55 degrees on multiple days each week. I will play golf in 40 if its not too windy but I know most won't but the point is, there is really a month of simulator season left at this point for most of us. Sure I will get to use the years subscription this fall and up to the date I start it if I were to do so in the next few weeks but whats the point. By the time anything is really released I can just sit back and play wade hampton for one more week then just go outside on the nice days and save my money til next winter.

I think they really missed the ball on strategic release times and at this point they realize that and are no longer in any hurry to get anything out.

Totally agree. Sim use would be a bonus as ST is for practice for me and my family (daughter mostly) but my buddies all want me to have sim play. I will be heading south in a few days for golf and also be gone part of March so after that time I will be out and playing on my course every other day. I might have thought about getting PG or TGC if it was announced at the PGA show, but not now. I will also wait until the fall. I have been following this whole thing since I got my ST in the fall and it seems like a dysfuntional family. No structure of any kind in this whole process with ST and potential sim partners. I feel bad for the people who really want proper sim play with ST. If it was what I was really after I would be really disappointed. I feel the frustration just reading the posts. In saying all that, I really love my ST. It works great for what I need it to do. Could use a better driving range though!! Looks like something from Wii. Hang in there you guys.

Yeah I live In Northern Blue Springs, I have a membership at adams Pointe. It was booked up and I waited to late so I had to play at Drum Farm today, but I got nine holes after work yesterday at Adams. Ive seen the prices they charge and seen the rumors and such and it seems E6 is about 1000-1600$ TGC looks like it will be about 600$year or 1k to buy and PG seems like its suppose to be about 250 A year. This is pretty much a no brainer, PG is the best before the price difference so at those price points the only reason I would not go PG is if it still wasn't released in November.

Even with all the bugs I have had with using it with my computer usb and switching to left handed I still love the skytrak, its a shame the distribution is done by shitheads because the hardware is legit and priced right. The difference in my last three rounds over my last 20 in game golf stats is amazing,
I hit more GIR when I miss I barely miss greens, and my drives are averaging 15 yards longer and about 55-65% Fairway accuracy vs the 20-30% I had before. Skytrak works and without it I would be worse than I was last fall and instead I'm better than I was all year. Just get me a damn sim to play and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone but at this point, I would have to point out how bad I think the current software is, you have to pay 100$ year for basic features that should be included and they are just plain lacking in many features that every other software has that seem like basic enhancements that could be accomplished in less than a week with a less than steller programmer.

Jeez Alienator, your sounding like me. I was being told the same crap back in October/November, when I saw that it was all bullshit was when I jumped ship,

There's so much more behind the scenes that I would love to share, but I don't like lawsuits so I do (yes believe it or not) bite my tongue.

I agree, pretty soon there's no point in paying for a sim subscription.

I probably would have purchased by now since I have given up on GC2, but without sim, not doing it. I can hit as many balls as I want at my local range, so that I have covered. It's the sim aspect that I want it for. Wait and see I suppose

It's interesting to read people complaining about the sum software not being released and going on to say about releasing it even if it's a beta and those are the same people who were complaining about skytrak being released too early before it was finished and how it's still a beta product etc. Surely you can't have it both ways?

Would you rather them wait until they have a finished product and then release it or would you rather them release a product full of bugs and glitches so that you can all carry on moaning...

I personally don't care if there are bugs as long as they get addressed timely. There will always be software issues especially in a fairly new space.

If they would have released tgc or perfect golf a month or more ago as a beta I would have been through the roof.

I do think though that much of it had to do with adding security to the product though, so they probably wouldn't have done that.

Just like to state couple of facts:
          - Range app and WGT I believe were never tested by independent beta testers and were released w bugs.
          - TGC (and I believe also E6 and PG also but I could be wrong) were tested by independent beta testers as far back as 6+ months ago (some of whom are forum members here) and they have stated that they work (i.e., chipping, putting and all so sounds like little of minimal bugs) but yet are not being released.

Not in my case. In fact, I think I posted somewhere about this very issue. Anyway, it's not all or nothing. You can release a product as beta, as did PG the whole year of 2015, and get away with having bugs. But you shouldn't release beta while calling it final. It's water under the bridge at this point. I'm just hoping the major issues with the Skytrak app are addressed in this next release. Otherwise I have targets on a driving range that I'm struggling to use due to sync/connectivity issues.

Protee have maintained for a while now, that it is purely up to ST's discretion to release the product. And that when ST is ready it will appear on their site for purchase.
There was another rumor that the vendors were reticent to spend their development teams time just to further a 3rd party security feature.
One wonders if ST has had to rethink their security model mid stream - the firmware upgrade with 'License Check' a case in point - and made the unit and serial the focus of the security model. So it's their delay not the 3rd parties.

^^ This. As for moaning and complaining - look back though the comments and you will see that the TGC software has been beta tested for a while. Also it appears that Protee is losing some interest given the apparent slow down in the TGC thread as of late.
      Working...
