So, last I heard the new version was with Apple and was due to be released after the PGA show, any news on when, now that we are 'after'? To say I'm chomping at the bit is understating it somewhat.

yeah it works me that they cant give us the pc release.... i get keeping the apple users happy but they have to understand apple likes to have their hands on everything.

I am eagerly awaiting the update as well. The video I saw from the PGA show looked interesting. I like the idea of multiple options for greens on the range.

For those if you that are into the technical side of things - could a firmware upgrade improve the device's capacity to pick up flops or is that purely a hardware issue? How about the device's ability to properly read chips so that they don't run out as they do on the e6demo?/or is that an e6 demo issue?

Theoretically it is possible that a firmware upgrade that adjusts the trig delay between the 2 cameras can generate better accuracy and detection of typical high launching wedge shots.
The longer delay the better but the drawback is that it will limit max ball speed. Maybe they did a slight adjustment and lowered max ball speed to say 180MPH while improving the wedge detection and accuracy. Don't know, just speculating, but it's not like any of us will notice if it can't detect 185MPH ball speed.
The firmware I am referring to is the original that was in the device from day 1. I have not upgraded mine because I don't want the crippled range app, and I refuse to pay GIP to get a functional range.

Well I have not sold mine I am not giving up, but I did UPS it back to Skytrak today for validation with my issues on distance reading being off.I can see a potential issue already when getting it back. They will likely send me a new unit and the bubble level I stuck on that came with the case will be gone and I will calling them back up and jacking them up for another. I tried getting off but that sucker was a one time stick on.

Hey all. Just to give a quick update. My plan was to submit early this week as planned following up from the PGA show. Unfortunately, it looks like one of you guys that I met down there gave me the flu (Joko, was that you?). I haven't had the flu in I can't remember how long, but I haven't been out of bed much since Monday. I'm doing all I can to make sure I minimize this delay as much as possible. Very sorry.

Also when I played WGT the putting was stopping a foot at a time, it took 10 strokes from 11ft away.

The update can't come soon enough, but that's not news. The PC version sometimes syncs, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes recognizes the ST, sometimes doesn't. Wasted two hours today trying to get the software to sync, then trying to get ST to connect. Worked for an hour then quit again. Whoever is responsible for the software should be embarrassed. Fifteen months after launch it still doesn't work correctly.

Its something with the usb, it causes mine to randomly switch from left to right handed at different intervals depending on the part of the app Im using range or challenges. Ive said something many times, ive emailed and used live tech support, Ive offered to send computer specs and log files and cant even get anyone from skytrak to acknowledge it is an issue. Ive narrowed it down to just a bug with the way usb is handled by different mobos and drivers. I can eliminate the sync issue completely and changed hands by simply running it in network mode instead of direct but thats not an option for me where I use it.

It happens to me also...

i don't normally putt. I tried putting to see if it would happen and it did. Putts were going maybe inches. Just another reason why i don't waste my time putting.
