After waiting a day to receive the email from Skytrak for the download link, plus having to call SkyGolf customer service just to have them send it to me.
Now it turns out I have to wait another day for a licence key from ProTee before I can play this game.
I'm not usually an impatient person, but I did just pay a $1000 for a video game that I still can't play.
Talk about a buzz kill.-
Sorry about this, but we are based in Europe (Amsterdam). If you send in requests before 4pm CST you should get a reply. After 11pm our time we really need to get some sleep. Your license was send first thing this morning. Enjoy and join the tour! -
We send your license key several times via PM, Visitor Message and twice via our helpdesk. You need to check your SPAM folder (or the email address you gave us).

I bit the bullet and did the one year subscription to TGC. Waiting on ProTee for the license code, then hopefully can get the SkyTrak to work with Wi Fi without and issues!Comment

Got it and got 5 holes in! Had an issue with the first putt attempt not reading and the ST unit hung. But a restart of the ST unit had me back and going fine. This issue happened to me in the E6 demo as well. Also happy to report that I was playing via wifi without issue.

Wow I wish I would have read these posts first. I purchased about an hour ago hoping to download and play when I got home from work, but it looks like maybe 2 days from now if I'm lucky? Still waiting on the "step 1", nothing yet received from SkyTrak. I'm posting because it seems many are not getting anything until they mention it and get some help.
Suggestion: Put this info in the purchase page and be up front about this very lengthy registration time. This day and age, it's unprecedented to not have automatic/instant download and activation.

Is the tgc software download taking forever (hours) for anyone else? Any tips? Brand new super fast machine on fast wifi.

The download is 1.7Gb in size. The files are hosted on US based servers. Its ultra fast. When we download ourselves here from Europe it takes 2 minutes max. Run a speedtest on the internet to find out whats going on. -
I ran a speed test while I was waiting for mine to download for that very same reason, and I was getting speeds of 98mb/s which is near the max speed of the service I receive (100 MB/s). I was too chicken to cancel and start over so I just waited it out and all is good. maybe it was just a temporary server thing. I did receive my licence code from you folks within three hours though so I should be ready to go tonight.

Re. the download speed. I am also in Europe and my last 3 downloads all took 2 hours. (This is all recent as I was helping with the beta test of the new update.) Surprised to find that they should have only been a few minutes.
I have (normally) very fast internet.
(Just noticed that your demo is for the SkyTrak version of TGC, but all the same, why is it taking so long??? My downloads are typically when it's the middle of the night in North America so there should be much less traffic.Last edited by aja; 02-27-2016, 05:22 PM.

yes, took almost 2 hours to install and my wifi was running at 98MB/s on a brand new speedy machine as well but the download maxed out at 270kb/s for some odd reason. Anyways have sent off license request now.

Try again, it should not take that long unless there is an issue with your external or internal network. We just started a download from Europe. Files are hosted in the US. Here is a video of the speed we just recorded. Downloading 1.7Gb.Originally posted by Cinderellaboy View Post

Just another data point. Outside Boston, MA on Comcast - speedtest.net at 52mb. Download started at 7:00am EST ran at 350kb/s for 30 minutes then dropped to 180kb/s for remainder. Took about 2.5 hours total. Can't wait to get back home an try 'er out!
Not sure if Comcast throttles lengthy downloads, I've definitely downloaded thing faster and similar to your video. Possible that your server throttles with concurrent downloads? No big deal - couple hours is more than reasonable. Just strange that you seem to get over 1mb/s...must be our isp's over here.

I put the kid to bed and spent about 4 hrs getting a feel for tgc. All in all, lots of fun. I found a few courses that killed my gpu (980gtx) and it allowed me to understand the settings better.
I played Pinehurst #2 (and beat ks-man's ghost). The putting and chipping was great. I chipped 1 in for eagle and putting was quite fair.
I can wait to figure out online play.Comment

Played my first 9 holes at Riviera last night. Some observations:
Distances are spot on. Hit my drives around 250-260 just like outdoors. Hit a 153 yard par 3 with a 9 iron just like outdoors.
Putting is tough. I think I took close to 40 putts including a 6 putt on hole 1! That will get better in time.
Playing on Wifi had a lag 8 seconds on 95mb/s connection, usb connected less than 3 seconds. This is odd because earlier in week had less than 3 second lag on wifi using 2.2 Skytrak demo. Anyone else notice that a difference?
Commentator guy cracks me up. After I putt off the green on one hole he says "here's a pro tip. Get it back on the green" lol.
Anyways, just based on the accuracy of ball flight replication alone, I am super stoked with my purchase - it really completes my system.
Do you have to play 5 handicap rounds before you can play multiplayer? Hope not because want to start playing multiplayer right away.
Also was anyone else frozen out from posting last night? I kept getting message that I had to wait 33333 second before I could post again. Weird.Comment

Okay, played my first round today and so far so good, I really like this a lot, but there are some issues. I am hitting wedges and 8-9 irons into greens and the ball wont stop no matter how much back spin I put on it. I hit a pitching wedge from the fairway and hit in front of the green just to have it roll all the way off the back side!! This makes it really hard to imagine playing in a league or online.
Also, I have had several phantom hits while lining up, and some iron shots that literally went two feet, what happens when this takes place in a tournament? I am not getting online until I have some confidence that these issues have been resolved.
Any advice? I am having no problems with short chips and putting, for me they are great, I just cant stop a ball on a green to save my life!Comment
