Skytrak Protective Case

Nailed my DIY lexan cover last night for the first time with a badly hit hybrid. Skytrak also fell backwards but cushioned it with a blanket. Everything still working perfectly. I was lazy and had the skytrak resting right against the lexan plate. Needless to say quickly added some felt cushion pads used to put under furniture in between the skytrak and lexan plate. My courses:

I also did 1/4 in thick. I took a printout of davray schematic and taped it on. I made 3 small pilot holes with the smallest drill I had and the took a multitool oscillator with a rectangular saw blade and went at an angle. Once it went through, my jigsaw was able to fit through . No melting on my end which I was afraid of and constantly touching the blade to make sure it wasn't too hot. Also set the multitool and jigsaw to the lowest frequency .
If there was anything I would do differently is make the cuts a little bit longer on the bottom end. I occasionally get some chips that don't register .Last edited by Jtangm04; 11-09-2016, 08:30 PM.My courses:

Just finished building my protective screen. However, I can't seem to figure out how to get it to work ontop of the skytrak case that came with my package. I saw someone earlier was able to do so. Anyone that has, any advice? Should I just make the holes bigger?
The screen works without the case, just when i try to put it ontop of the case, it doesn't work.
Also, if I can't use the black protective case. What would be better, the camera protector or the black plastic casing?

It's hard for me to say which direction to enlarge, I would have to assume all directions since it's a conical projection. I also don't fully understand the design you speak of. I just know that you are limited on how far away from the lens you can deviate before you have diminishing returns. The closer the better is what I can say. I'm currently designing a case that locks in the skytrak box so I have consistent distance from my protective window.

The camera field of view would not be the same in all directions.
I don't have a skytrak so don't know the exact sensor but based on the info posted here (http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...2802#post82802) the fov would be about 56 degrees horizontally and 44 degree vertically.

I'm using devray's design but trying to throw it ontop of the skytrak plastic protective case. Basically, I made the holes TOO big and cut into the middle flash which needs to be transparent. Don't make the same mistake as me.
I am cutting a new piece of lexan and just using devray's design. Then i will make small cuts vertically to increase the size of the holes (bigger middle boxes).
Hopefully it works this time.

Got the sketch finally. Plan on buying the metal case from Japan, and using the sketch (Davray) in conjunction with that.

I have the plastic SkyTrak protective case and I was considering cutting a piece of Lexan to Davray's design and attaching it to the front of the protective case with adhesive velcro for added safety.
Has anyone tried this ? I am a little concerned that the position of the cut outs would have to change as the lexan would not be right up against the Skytrak.
