I think I was getting between 45-55 for most of the round. I was surprised it was so low since I typically see a flat 60 when playing PG. Guess it's the course.

I have the 970 and it can't really play it properly. On PG default settings I was getting a lot in the high 20's. Average for the whole course was probably in the low 30s. The 13 tee was 19 fps and with the tree detail up to 5 so they wouldn't have that fuzzy Optishot look it drops to 15/16 fps. Normally I run at 5 but dropped it down to the default 2 just to have a fighting chance. The course is very resource hungry, it looks great but maybe the designers got a little carried away. I wonder what card they develop on! Anyway, it's still beta so hopefully they can do something.

OK, since ks-man seems to be getting significantly higher frame rates than me with the same video card (and we think the same settings TBC), I did a test as follows:

Resolution = 1920x1080
Full Screen
Quality settings = default (ie Ultra High, VSync is off)
Augusta in Practice mode, jump to 13th Tee and measure fps = 19 (uggh)

Here's the interesting part....CPUID HWMonitor shows the GPU load is only 35%!!! It's barely being used!!! My card should be running 3X faster!

This usually means the system is CPU bottlenecked. So I look at the CPU and see about 45% total loading. Should be fine...except I look closer and two of the four cores are running at peaks of 70% and 80% respectively. Since this is only a software estimate of loading from the OS which doesn't really know if the various hardware bits inside the CPU package are saturated it could well be (and I think likely) that my CPU is in fact the bottleneck.

If correct this has significant implications. It means with PG the CPU matters! And my I5 isn't enough!!

This is different than TGC where only the video card really matters. My system runs all TGC courses with the GPU saturated at 99% while the CPU is typically only running 25%. So on TGC I'm always bottlenecked by the video card even though I have a low end I5 Skylake.

But PG uses the CPU's quite heavily so even though I have a GTX 970 I can only achieve 35% utilization due to my puny I5.

If correct this means I have to throw away my I5 processor and buy a good I7 in order to maximize frames rates in PG. This essentially doubles my video card cost. But PG is so super duper mind blowing awesome it is worth it!!! LOL

This is just theory based on my little tests this evening. I know nothing about how PG is designed to work so I could be hopelessly wrong. So it would be great if someone else with a GTX 970 could help confirm this theory by doing this test and reporting the the following:
- frame rate on 13th tee
- gpu and cpu loading
- Processor type (ie I5 or I7 and the specific version if you know it)

Based on my theory, I'd predict those with I5 will report lower frame rates and GPU utilization than those with I7's.

Maybe the PG experts already know all this stuff. Or maybe someone has a better theory. If so please speak up and confirm/deny/explain. All this techno-geek stuff is detracting from my playing time!

Okay I was referring to your second shot. To me that was realistic. The second chip shot that landed in the water and sitting there and then getting a option of "as is lies" is not

Are fps with skytrak consistent with PG play on PC alone? Not referencing strictly Augusta, just game play in general.

I may try setting up a second monitor and putting the interface window there permanently. Has anyone else tried that successfully?

Tekbud yes, I have mine setup with Desktop extended to both monitors. I move the interface over to other monitor and it works great. I'm referring to GC2 interface but would think Skytrak interface would be similar.

Should just be the normal full sim package. You need to download all the extra courses and put files in a specific folder on your PC. The course downloads are on another forum. Don't believe I can post that link here.

The PG Simconnection app now has an option to toggle the handedness. Apparently they didn't have any left handed beta testers and it slipped through.

Just played the newly released user content Bandon Trails. So fun. Really enjoying PG. I don't have the space to hit more than a 3 hybrid so being able to select shorter tees to play on is much more enjoyable for me. And the putting is really solid.

I'm having a similar problem as someone had on page 1 but I never saw a resolution. I bought the Perfect Golf package from Skygolf but when I go to connect in Perfect Golf it connects and says Skytrak Connected - Unprovisioned Device - Not Enabled Perfect Golf - Contact SkyTrak.

Any help?

That must be frustrating. Have you connected to the updated latest version Skytrak app? This is when the license files get downloaded and updated. Also have you connected to perfect golf via USB? I assume you have the settings in perfect golf controls set to skytrak and usb or wifi.

Yep. I'm on Skytrak 2.4. When I open PG the sim console comes up. I hit connect to Skyrak. It connects quickly. Discovers Box. Skytrak Connected. Unprovisioned Device.

Maddening considering my subscriptions shows on the skygolfs site. Did anyone have to wait for Skygolf to validate your subscription or was it instant.

FYI I believe I have this fixed. Somehow I had my Skytrak on one Skygolf account and my Skypro and Perfect Golf purchase on another account. Chatted with Skygolf for a few minutes while at work and they were able to resolve it. I know they have received a lot of criticism for poor support on this forum but they were super helpful with me in this instance.

I just got my new laptop and also PG.
Looking for some help and advice about the recommended settings for the laptop as well as for the PG.
I got the Gigabyte P35vX5 with i7-6700HQ and GTX-980M.
Connection with PG already established...but I'm lost with game settings.

I'm able to connect to Skytrak, it says true for everything I can use. It says false for has future perfect golf functionality. Then when I click connect to perfect golf it stays red and says perfect golf waiting for connection but never connects. I know it connects because I can hit a shot and the perfect golf console gives me the ball speed and spin stats. But the shot doesn't show up in the game.

I checked my skytrak account and my premium perfect golf membership shows up.
