Skytrak off 20-30 yards with driver

I get lessons at golftec and all my drives are 270+ on their device. On the course I do average the same. On skytrak my longest drive is 260 but averaging about 230. I really want this thing to work!!! Leveled, googled the crap out of this.

Not sure where you're located but do you still have an opportunity to test outside? If so you should easily be able to tell if ball is carrying past a 250 marker and compare measured results. You do need to confirm distance to yardage marker though.

Nope, 8 degrees here today. I don't want to send it back! I bought the golf club software too and when you drive it 220 after smashing it on a 600 yard par 5 it just isn't fun. I hit my three hybrid 220.

before you are disappointed. is this 270+ carry + roll out or just carry?

because gc2's carry + roll out is outrageous and no where near real world. i would bet that your unit is accurate.

roll out can vary between programs algorithms

now with that being said, go through this thread, i just updated it , should help making sure your skytrak is proofed to be reading as accurate as it can

Hey all, With all the bad press around Skytrak with its sim integration problem/sync issues with the pga show this year I wanted to write a post/ turn it positive

My carry is 260. Just not impressed for the amount I have into this thing.

What is your ball speed at golftec and what is your ball speed on your Skytrak? If they're the same, go in the TGC settings and boost the driver algorithm by 1-2% and see if it matches then.

So I haven't tested the driver yet but wanted to let people know I think I resolved the issue by hitting the ball about 2 inches behind the red light. Is this a defect? Much happier. Went from hitting my 6 iron 140 to 170.

You know it's funny. My old man swears that his Skytrak is a little stingy on the numbers. So we proceeded to bump his boost settings a bit in TGC. Now the best part is he had a golf pro come by and sure enough the pro says wow I'm getting about 3-4% more on my irons than usual!

I tend to trust the numbers coming from the system they seem to be right in line with my distances.

Spoke to soon. Hitting my 4 iron just as far as my driver. Progress I guess

Packed up the unit to ship back. I tried everything I could think of and read every forum post. Now I am sad.

I was going through the same issue with my driver too and even bought a new Ping G30. I thought it was an issue with the skytrak so I tried it out at Golf Discount and tested with their flight scope. I was getting the same numbers. They put some impact tape on the club and I realized I wasn't striking the ball in the center of the club. I have made adjustments and my numbers are coming up. It takes time to get use to playing indoors.

You haven't given us any numbers. Ballspeed, launch angle. The guys on this forum know their stuff.

You're ready to send the unit back without giving anybody a chance to help.

Before you ship it, you may want to take it to golftec just to try there. You may be swinging more freely when its inside someone else's place vs yours. If you're taking lessons there, i can't imagine they would mind you hitting a couple to verify your device. Seems like you've got a lot into it with TGC.

I took lessons at golftown when they still offered them. The guy there actually turned up the distances a certain % on their monitor. Could this be happening at golftec?

I'm hitting my 4 iron 210 and my driver 230. Probably not correct. At golftec I hit it 270+ and on the course I average the same.

the trouble reality when it comes to true swing speed. anyone can hit it 270 with a down hill tee box and wind behind you.

I know my swing speeds, I do not hit the ball only 230-240 with my driver. I am not THAT guy that says I hit it 320 but I do consistently hit it 270 to 280. Heck if I could get 260 I wouldn't care as I could play the TGC courses. But with a 240 yard drive it makes it difficult and not really fun.

Your launch is probably off and its hitting a net infront of you and you cant get a feel for the real flight.. post the numbers or take it outside and watch the flight - its extremely eye opening

I do usually have a lower flight with my 913 with oban black shaft so that is why I tried a old g25 that I launch really high and was getting the same results
                    Working...
