They mention stroke play tournaments on the brochure that is now available on the website?

Yes, but from what I heard, it's not turn based with other online players, maybe just with other local players. It sounds like you just play by yourself and your score and states gets posted for the tournament.

It would make sense for them to design it that way if they're more focused on indoor golf centers instead of personal use. Customers paying by the hour aren't going to want to wait around for somebody online to swing.

Great point Richard. The more I read, the more I think e6 is going for the golf center market first, retail player/buyer second.

Yes it makes sense for golf centers. You often will be playing with a foursome already. The home user would most likely want turn by turn online. My only fear in this approach is the person that cheats and hands his score in. There is no way to police this. I can see a lot of low scores coming in!

What if the scores were uploaded automatically? Wouldn't all we have to do is make sure mulligans were turned off? Not ideal due to misreads, but it still could work?

Yeah, don't see it working too well. I can see guys driving 400 yards and shooting -15 in every round.

Well I would think they would enforce some sort of settings sniffer to at least weed out the less tech savvy possible cheaters. IE, your settings are altered from default, you cannot compete in certain tournaments. For hardware that has no "boost" options, this would be easily enforced. Since E6 has boost functions built it, this should be easily enforced. It still won't weed out a hardware cheat, but it's a good deterrent.

This is such a no brainer I'd be surprised if they hadn't thought of this already, but I've been stooped before.

When we played on the fullswing golf tour it disabled mulligans so no way to cheat that I knew of.

For me right now, I'm just looking forward to seeing 1.6 and will leave the cloud stuff alone until when it is released. Once it's released, then we can see how they will deal with the online tournaments on their cloud based system and would have hopefully devised a way to deal with cheating.

I just talked to my Trugolf rep. There has deifinately been some confusion about E6 cloud. The subscription only applies to the 1.6 update. It doesn't apply to the E6 software as a whole. You must first purchase E6 (right now it is $3000) and then you can pay $25 per month subscription for the 1.6 update. The 1.6 update will cost $1500 as an add on if you already own E6.

Im sure that is a bubble burster for some.

So Skytrak owners need to buy E6 at $3000 before any cloud subscriptions?

Yeah, that's definitely a deal breaker there if that's the case. Last time I talked to them they were still finalizing the subscription price, but they made no mention of purchasing the original E6 software first and then having to pay a sub. The price for indoor golf centers will be different than personal users, too.

Yeah, it did sound to good to be true at first.

Zmax is right. We can easily change our settings in our Trugolf so that you hit it much farther. For those who are on Trugolfs portable systems, all you have to do is move your mat system closer to the screen and bamm you add clubhead speed.
