  • Control ProTee and TGC with a tablet

    Hi

Just bought a ProTee Base Pack 2. Plan to buy a powerful Windows 10 PC with a good processor and graphics-card to run ProTee software and TGC. When I am playing and training (on the virtual range) I would like to be able to control setup, mode, club selection etc from a tablet - just as seen in misc videos on YouTube. Can I use an iPad, or does it have to be Android? Will an old iPad2 work, or does it have to be newer? Which minimum version of iOS?

I found this video on setting it up: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Q2G60cWKd8
Are there a more up-to-date guide? The video is from 2012.

Seems this guy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0QlRxEf2qY is using a touch screen connected directly to the computer. Maybe that is the way? Or can the same thing be achieved with a tablet connected via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth or something...

You wanna use AirKeyboard. Search around the forum here for that and you’ll find the post. It’s awesome.

Yes Airkeyboard is great so I will second that. It is almost a must to playing with a group. I sit next to the computer and would have to move everytime someone needs to change clubs or aim. Not so with the Airkeyboard

I'll chime in with my touchscreen option. First, obviously you need a touchscreen monitor for your PC.

With a bit of help from someone more knowledgeable I built a AutoHotkey "macro" that overlays touchscreen commands onto the TGC screen. I can basically do most actions from the touchscreen. Choose clubs, scout the hole, etc.

This is a picture of the screen and the touchscreen buttons.

I don't use the keyboard for most TGC functions. Touchscreen works very well.
