Buy Impact Screen Fabric Directly from Mill

Oh man, I think the mill will run out! There must be 50 screens above. I hope Daniel's ok with this, but hopefully some will help out or take it over if not. And make a bit of cash doing so too. Could even be a recurring business for someone.

I'd help out but unfortunately the mill's in the US (as I take it most people requesting screens are), and I'm in Australia.

I bought a screen from the first round so I can at least explain how it went then. Once he finalized pricing he said it was $/foot. Then people on the original list sent money with Paypal for the cost of their screen. Once we sent money we changed our name in the list to bold with a note next to it saying we had paid. The important date was when you paid, not when you first wrote down your name. After a few weeks he found out that he was limited on the number of rolls he could buy so he stopped accepting payments. I think he had to refund a few people's payments because he wasn't able to purchase enough material. Once the rolls of material came in, he cut them into lengths and weighed them. He posted dimensions and weights for shipping, and we each sent him a UPS/FedEx/USPS shipping label. From my point of view it all went very smoothly although I'm sure it was a ton of work for dbgolf72. Afterwards, some of us chipped in to get him a gift card in appreciation of all his hard work. There aren't too many people out there with the skills, desire, and persistence to pull something like this off. The fact that other impact screen vendors pressured the original mill to stop selling to him just shows how big of a deal this turned out to be.

As far as sending money with Paypal, you can gift it so there are no fees, or you will have to pay the fees yourself (2.9% +$0.30). The fees cover buyer protection in the event you don't get your screen. It sounds like getting enough material won't be an issue this time, but I would suggest getting your payment in quickly to guarantee your spot in line.

Andy thanks for the explanation.

Although we won't know how many yards will be produced on this run until it's actually finished knitting, I believe most of the orders on the list will be covered. Any additional ones will probably be rolled to the following run. Yes, I plan on continuing this process and will make adjustments to improve quality each run until we have the perfect fabric for our application.

I calculated the pricing for this run:

$19.75 per foot minimum 10 ft order.

I don't want to get involved in finishing the fabric but I will deliver the fabric to the finisher for those who want their fabric finished for $23.0/foot

Please don't send any payments until I know how many feet is produced. The order in which your screen name is on the list will hold your spot for now.
