    costs???

I've seen the BenQ 953ST mentioned in a few threads here for higher-end builds. It's not cheap: https://store.gunghogolf.com/Projectors-c65020016

So if your golf bay splits time with your kids hitting baseballs and softballs into the screen, what is recommended for 1080p? I won't have the benefit of a premium screen and plan on purchasing the Mevo Plus launch with TGC2019 SW. Thanks for your time and response, just joined this forum

BenQ just announced a new 4k projector that I'm considering: BenQ LK936ST. Price doesn't seem to be available yet.
LK936ST is a 4k Resolution Short-Throw Blue Core Laser Projector. It has all-in-one capabilities for your home theater and DIY golf simulator projects. With true 4k resolution, the LK936ST's 8.3 million pixels enable you to see every subtle detail on any image.

This site is suggesting a price of $4500 https://www.touchboards.com/benq-lk936st/

        Correction
$4500 would be a great price. However, I still have not seen it advertised on a popular projector web site.
I originally thought it was on the B&H website but it isn't,

At these costs is there even a screen out there to get the benefit?

There isn't much reason to pay for 4K to project on a golf impact screen. I bought a projector screen that I can roll down a couple of feet in front of my impact screen and its amazing to see the difference.

I’ve run 4K on my monitor and it looks a little better than 1080p but it’s lost with impact screen material, and I have one of the higher end screens. Now if 4k projector drops sub 800.00 I would consider one only cause we watch sports and stuff on the screen too. That’s way down the road and by that time our current projector will have a lot of lamp hours..

4K definitely looks better on good and premium impact screen (like our Birdie and Eagle screens). Instead of 1,080 vertical pixels, you get 2,160, so pixellation (most easily seen around text and straight edges) goes completely away, even when viewed up close. With HD, pixellation is noticeable from your hitting position. Whether or not is bothers you is another question.

How does this eagle screen compare to say Carl’s premium or par2pro SQ?

Can anyone explain the difference between the new LK936ST and the LK953ST? Why is the LK936ST so much cheaper?

Is the 935st not the cheaper projector? I thought the 936 was $4500.

Just not sure if the 936 replaces the 953 or if it is a lower level projector.

The LK936ST is replacing the LK953ST. Nearly identical specs (936 matches the 953 in everything and adds a couple of nice-to-haves), but the 936 is around 5 pounds lighter and slightly smaller. Perhaps they've figured out how to save some costs by putting it into a smaller package - or just realized the price point needs to be lower.

It's very, very similar to both of those screens. All are 3-layer premium polyester - very thick, and as quiet as impact screen gets. Ours has less bounceback and ball-dimple persistence in informal testing, but all three are top quality screens.

Said this above in a comment just now, but the 936 is replacing the 953, matching the specs in a slightly smaller/lighter form factor.

We will have some soon - "mid Nov" is the eta, but it's low confidence. As soon as we have them in hand we'll put them in our store. Priced at $4,499.
