FSX 2018 is very good

I got FSX 2018 yesterday. I am very new to FSX, but I can say for sure the graphics difference from FSX to FSX 2018 is huge. I was not impressed with the graphics in the old version. I even own the expensive courses, and the graphics were marginal. FSX 2018 is a huge difference in the graphics quality! I would say the included courses graphics are about as good as TGC, and the expensive courses look even better than TGC. I am extremely impressed with the graphics quality with FSX 2018. I have not spent enough time to tell you about other features added or upgraded.

Thats cool, so the new lighting engine should effect all courses then. It does look slightly better. The new trees (and hopefully folliage) that are coming will likely make the whole thing look way better.

I guess I will wait till there is a side by side comparison video of FSX vs a finished FSX 2018 (of a non Pebble course) to make a full judgement. Keep in mind that the FR1 screenshot you are showing is a 10 plus year old red chain software. When you look at the FSX version, I would have hoped they would have done something better than that in 10 plus years. That is just my opinion. I still have some hope for FSX yet..........

I bought it and now it asks me to login again and my activation key won’t work. Thanks FSX I paid the $500 and now my software won’t work at all!

Just a heads up. You can always install the older version back to the pc and it will work. At least until they get you a new key for fsx2018

Has anyone found the setting for multiple monitors or is that one of the coming soon features. I can’t find it anywhere.

Pretty sure it was ‘coming in March’. It’d be one of the few reasons I’d consider paying $500 to upgrade. I want to see how it works before commiting, as I’d like to have my HMT data on one screen and the golf course on another.

March is only a few days away though!!

I have a funny feeling that March is going to be the end of March and that is if it that happens. Historically "new" releases from Foresight have been rather buggy so that is another concern. I sure hope I'm wrong though. I mean, look at the screen shots of the new UI. No7 at pebble is 400+ yards????

Forsight software is a joke. The course graphics are slightly better and will render at 4K in FSX 2018 but they still are so much behind TGC. Also, very few true 4K projectors are available unless you want spend 8k for the Sony one. IMO The only real aspect foresight does a good gob with with the range and all the club data points. That’s a good reason many of the golf fitters use it but pros do not. I’m done with foresight and if trackman becomes more usable in smaller spaces indoors I’m going to dump my quad as I use the sim mainly for practice.

Is there any roadmap to have a range that is more than just a flat plot with a line down the middle? The green the end is tiny too

So, are you guys getting a whole new activation key for FSX2018? Does the old FSX activation key still work? Any ideas what I'm getting at? Hehe, can we sell FSX?

I contacted support and they gave me a new activation key for 18.

I turned on the range in fsx18, didn’t play anything yet, but there is zero difference. I don’t know what I paid for. It is a joke.

There is zero difference. The two swing cameras doesn’t even work. Only records one of two.

Good luck getting a refund for another crap software program from Foresight. Hopefully someone will figure out how to bypass FSX with the quad so we can all get real simulator software like TGC to work.

I just received my FSX2018 key last night. I decided to pick it up based of the fact I run a 12 person money golf league in my garage all winter. FSX is a little easier on some of the guys since it's simpler to operate.

I only had about 25 mins with it

Graphics look exactly the same
Color has been adjusted on grass/etc..
Lighting is better
Trees don't look any different really
Water is slightly better
Menus are the same with a few more options.

I would say so far this is like going from FSX 3.5 to 3.55

I can't see why they are charging for it. I need to play more to make a complete comparison.

The ‘all new trees’ are a March 2018 update! I’ll look forward to seeing these in a few months.
