Buying a used gc2, what to watch for?

What's to watch out for with used models? Does anyone know the cost for battery replacement and maybe adding Ipad feature.
What is the minimal cost software needed to use for driving range/target practice?

Make sure you buy from a reputable buyer. Ebay is loaded with people claiming to be selling GC2s and they're fraud auctions.

You can buy a new battery from Par2Pro for about 80 bucks. But I just pulled my battery pack out and took it to Batteries Plus. They rebuilt it with new cells for $28.

Ipad app is $50. That's the minimum you need for driving range.

So just wondering. If there is fraud going on eBay and you do purchase one but say you never received it then wouldn't you contact eBay and they would handle the situation to get your money back.

Thanks, I noticed a few suspect auctions on eBay from sellers with 1 feedback using the same photos or description. Used prices are all over the place. Thanks for the heads up on battery replacement, sounds easy enough..

I'm not sure if you are referring to the Skytrak that was recently on eBay for s 1000.00. Reason why it was listed for a 1000 is because I couldn't set the amount higher because I'm a new member. I did contact eBay for me to bypass that setting for now I have never used eBay but I'm a legit guy trying to get a fair price. Btw it's
sold.

So my next question is: The gc2 that I have seen on the states side I find are legit. Am I wrong for assuming?

I don't anticipate a problem. They have been around for a long while 2010? and my guess is you will not use it as much as the ones at Golf stores that are constantly on. I believe that once you buy one, you can contact Foresight to register the device and they offer extended warranties. Pretty pricey, but it is a pricey machine. I would feel better getting a used one from someone who used it but doesn't have the time to play anymore. I have scene some on eBay. Good luck, the GC2 is great!

Thank you - I was leaning towards buying a new one just for the peace of mind but if the components that wear down can be fixed or the unit does not breakdown, the used one sounds like the correct play.

So what's considered an average used price for the gc2 or gc2a with no software? 1/2 off msrp. Do they charge full msrp for a new one? I've bought guitars from Martin that advertise an msrp or map price but usually you can get it a lot lower. I wonder what dealer cost is on the gc2, or the skytrak..

Can anybody point me in a direction of where I can purchase a used Foresight Sports GC2a?

What are the sim software options for GC2?
- Can I just purchase TGC without FSX? If so, where can I purchase?
- Or do you have to purchase FSX + TGC? If so, where can I purchase?
- Or do you purchase TGC with an additional integration software? If so, where can I purchase?

GC2 owners, can you comment on the following:
- CHIPPING & PUTTING: My Skytrak cannot read very soft putts or soft chips. Does the GC2 read soft putts and chips better?
- How do you align the GC2 before play. My Skytrak has the two laser dots that help? How does alignment work with GC2?

I am considering selling my Skytrak. Their simulation roll out is taking way too long. Also I am not happy with the no reads with short chips and putts. Will this no longer be an issue with GC2?

Mike have you not read my posts. Skytrak with TGC reads soft chips and putts. I agree that the roll out of the sim software with Skytrak has been horrible.

This is huge. I have contemplated dumping my ST for gc2, but that might be a gamble if foresight closes the loop hole on 3rd party software....technically or legally.

I like my ST a lot, but am anxious for some sim. I mean why wouldn't winter be a good time to release? The are probably waiting for the weather to break....

Soft putt work as do soft chips. TGC needs to be released by Skytrak. Why they at taking so long to release is beyond me!

I only know what I read, but they obviously can't be happy with no revenue from 3rd party software and lost sales of FSX. Maybe the consumer market is so small they don't care?

Has panic really set in that much?

First off, foresight will not be closing any loop or else they wouldn't be charging the $1,000 SDK. Simple common sense.

Secondly, the only way they can do this is through a firmware change..........guess what, NEVER UPDATE FIRMWARE UNLESS IT'S BEEN TESTED!!!!!!

Lastly, to run TGC on your GC2 (if you own one), is to go to https://www.swingsense.com/en/store/software and buy the software, register it on your computer and start playing.

This is all information on the forums that's been posted multiple times. It feels like the threads are just repeating the same information over and over again.
