  • TGC/Protee - GSX Settings and Bluetooth adapter

Settings for GSX when used with TGC:

Set all carry, back spin, and side spin settings to default of zero.
Putting speed = (set to what feels right for your turf).
    Putting forgiveness set to 2.
All penalty settings must be at default of zero

    Bluetooth adapters working:
    Asus USB-BT400 Bluetooth 4.0
    4Cirago Bluetooth 4.0 BTA8000 with Extended Range(EDR)

If you're having Bluetooth connection issues, definitely try a different brand Bluetooth adapter. If you're using the metal protective cage, try connecting without the GC2 being in the cage. Also, don't just plug the adapter in the back of the computer. Use a 6-15 foot USB extension cable to attach the Bluetooth adapter. This will put it out in the open an allow for a better signal.

    GC2 Bluetooth Adapter Code: 0000

Do you have the Foresight range software? If so could you pitch the ball and stop it like you are trying now?

Also make sure you also have the Course friction at 1.65 and greens as 1.00 as these are the setting I tested my settings with. There is not a lot of backspin set at max and make sure if you do set the wedges at max that you select a wedge in the Protee game before you hit.

Same goes for Driver and woods, where they are set differently as if I hit my driver with the driver setting it is ok, but if I hit my fairway woods with the Driver selected it is off a bit.

Very interesting, SFR. My friction/greens setting must still be default. I have been changing between fairway woods and irons when I play iron shots in. I have not changed anything when I chip/pitch. I'm assuming a wedge is selected by default (I'll check) so it wouldn't make a difference.

Well, there it is. Like SFR said, if you want to use the GSX adjustments, you have make sure you select the correct type of club in the game for the adjustments to work correctly. But a wedge is selected by default when around the green.

Also, it's very important to set Course Friction to 1.65 and Green Friction to 1.00.

Ya, that's what I've been doing. I haven't changed any course friction or green though, that's for sure. I'm playing in 30 mins or so and I'll check and restart the GSX before I start a game.

Ok so much better today. The chip and run was good. The putting was also much better, but I played a different course and this could have something to do with it.

I'm seeing low carries on low spin drives. I'll investigate that further tomorrow. Thanks guys.

Did you change the course friction to 1.65 and green to 1.00?

Excellent Rick. You will enjoy. Keep tweaking. Like I said there are very few companies that will listen to your needs and adjust, certainly not Foresight. The goal is to get it reacting as your games plays. Nothing is perfect and really it doesn't have to be perfect, just realistic.

I just got my Protee software up and running last night and am loving it. Thanks to SFR for help with the initial GSX settings as well. One minor issue though. Does anyone know if it is possible to adjust the view so that the aiming pole is not dead center on the screen (ie as in adjusting the DX/DY etc in the Foresight software)? As it is, I am set up slightly to the right side of the screen due to space constraints, so I can't rely on my eyes looking at the screen when I set up to hit a shot with Protee, as the aiming pole is to the left. Obviously I still know where my shot will go if I hit it square, but it would be nice to have it both ways. Thoughts? Or should I start knocking down walls...

I dont believe you can adjust that in the game. But you could just use the horizontal adjustment option on your projector to shift the entire picture over until it lines up, thats how i got mine lined up perfectly. If its quite a ways off, you could move your projector too.

Thanks I'll give that a shot, and I can probably move myself a little over to the center , and hopefully get it close enough. Just hoping to avoid hurting the windows or my driver (more importantly)

I went back into test Irons and wedges with both Foresight and Protee software running at the same time to display the same shot from the same spot in the Brabazon course. I had boosted the wedges to what I thought looked good but dropped back to the 45 range and after a couple more rounds some of the lob shots were stopping too quick.

Here is the adjusted areas. Carry ADJ for Irons (21) one higher and Wedges (19) one lower
Spin Adj Irons (31) Wedges (36)

When these settings were used side by side with the two softwares, the irons were within 1 yard of carry and end roll on the greens. Most shots resulted in the yardage left to the pin to be about 1 yard appart. The fairways in Foresight are a bit faster and the ball runs a bit more there but when looking at carry dist. these settings should be a bit better now.

There is a new update for the GSX. This version 0.4.9 has a new slider for the green side bunker distance. Beyond that setting the bunkers will be using your fairway bunker settings. They were set to 27 yds so any longer bunker shots were using less penalty.

Also I read Rick's post about low spin Drives that seem to not carry right. I think this is a GC2 issue as I have struggled with the Driver and fairway woods on the GC2. If in fact it has something to do with the low back spin and their calculations this may help.

If you boost the backspin on the Driver and woods it does seem to help straighten out the Driver. I normally hit my Driver with an average 240 to 250 carry and not always a massive slice or hook. My 17 deg Rocketbalz 5 wood like, is very straight and carry 220 to 230 on average with little issues. On the GC2 it's often a slice or hook. By boosting the backspin in the GSX interface it does help with this.

I had another golfer over the other day and he too
