Oh boy... can't wait to tee it up for this one lol.. agree about last week, the trees hanging into the fairways were ridiculous. Watching on Television over the weekend I didn't see hardly any trees impeding shots from the fairway. Granted those guys put the ball where they want to the majority of the time off the tee to avoid such situations but even when hitting a good tee shot I was finding trees non stop on either side of the fairways.. it got the best of me in round 2 for sure

Great discussion! I think course setup is challenging. You have to be very smart about where you place your shots. There are some easy holes that allow you some birdies if you execute. But driving is definitely at a premium. I have experienced 2 greens where I played for 20 feet of break and before my ball travelled 20 feet it was off the green to the side. That is kind of crazy...but I am making mental notes so when I play the tournament rounds I do not make the same mistakes...but I will ....LOL!

Before I am playing my two rounds. I will refrain from hockey for 3 days.......make sure that I get a full 8 hours of sleep at night and a pre round nap. I am going to study the tapes of previous rounds. Go to my Chiropractor to get the kinks out. Check out my horoscope. And work on my short game. Must beat Mthunt and lay up on number 18...... not necessarily in that order.

I had the worst rounds on here.....ever. Funny thing, it was not the course that startet my total mental breakdown. I had to play both round because I won't have time on the weekend. So first round started out rough because i couldn't get my driver going. Was still all good. I was playing ok after 6. After hole 15 it all started. I had 2 dropped connections on the last 3 holes. Every one of them took me back 2-3 holes. So instead of playing 3 holes I played 7 or 8. I continued with 2nd round because I had to. Was 1 over after 4 and a very happy camper and guess what. connection drop and back to 2. That time 7 over after 4 . Long story short had 4 more drops in that round, 2 times where it just wouldn't read my put, and had a probably 28 hole round......a least 28. I got so pissed that I didn't even care anymore. Checked my score this morning on the tournament site just to see that it doesn't show my 2nd round as completed. I'm guessing I have to play 16-18 again. But that's ok. I was at 28 over in round 2 at that point. I really liked the course. Not many water balls either. But when I lost my calm and my short game with it, it was game over hahahaha Just couldn't calm down anymore after all that. This is the first time this happened to me. Every time it dropped I checkt my internet speed and it was as always. Not slower.

i agree jrz. Before the update, I had very few dropped connections between ST and my PC using WIFI. After the update, my ST drops off 5 or 6 times in a round. Usual fix is to start up the Skytrak program, let it connect in Network mode, close it, then connect TGC using the interface. I usually don't have to close out the TGC program, so I'm not losing data from completed holes like Sascha did. That's a whole new level of frustration.

i switched back to usb from network since the last update. now im not dropping. I agree that last update must have done something.

I just warmed up for 9 holes and they were pretty good. Just played round 1. I had a great front 9 of -3 but ended up shooting a 74. One in the water and a few bad chips gave me a 41 on the back. I chipped one and I thought it was an excellent chip..... it rolled by the hole just barely...... picked up speed and rolled off the green 20 yards away. Take your time looking past the hole as well. This course is tough especially the back 9. The greens can punish you if you are not close.

Wow, that's a lot of high scores. Whoever plays every hole with only a seven iron might take this tournament...

Another thing that adds to the difficultly of this course is that the greens are crazy tough. If you are in the wrong spot, you could be playing 15 feet break on a 20 foot putt. I had one chip that I purposely aimed 6 feet to the right because if I would have tried to play the break on the left..... there was no way I was going to not run it way past the hole.

Last year I shot an 83 and a 80 on this course. It's probably one of the toughest on the tour. Trouble everywhere. On 18, I went for it in 2 both times..... water only once though.

My TGC player name is Teezr2. My forum name is different.... Anyways, the first tourney I played I had the protee for only a few days and the cameras were not set up correctly, therefore my scores were brutal. I even conceded on a few holes out of frustration. I am more like a 6 Hdcp IRL. My protee was also broken last week as I vacuumed the front sensors and broke one of the sensors. Had to wait a week for sensors to be mailed to Canada from Netherlands. Got it soldered in and seems to be working good now. Still new to protee so still tweaking adjustments but getting there.

I had shot recording on for the first tourney I played in. I thought it would be auto on for the next tourney. Maybe I need to turn it on every week? I had one Mully when I was retrieving my ball to get putting set up and my putter shadow crossed the putter sensor. Ball did not move so I did a rewind. too bad I didn't have shot recording on because I got a hole in one on #5. Putting was tough on this course.

OK, I dont mean to be picky but feel the need to say this. I know Greg Norman course designer is tough because I've used it so dont want to be critical but...
One of the easiest things to do is clear generated objects. There are rocks all over the place that were auto-generated and have no reason to be on this course. The other is what is this stuff around the greens? It has it as heavy rough though it looks like a brown outline. The actual terrain around the greens is nothing like that and does not play as heavy rough. Other than that, a great job on a tough course. Just seems a shame to have those 2 things.
