I played a practice round on this course today. It's definitely gettable as the par 5's are shorter. Couple of tough par 3's as usual. Overall a very good golf course. Tight off the tee, but not overly penalizing. FYI, the water hazards aren't in play really if you can carry it 250+. That would be my only complaint. Definitely looking forward to the week.

Nice tourney last week wbond, keep it up...

This is my first tourney in a while - too much outdoor play. However, intend to play this one and played 9 holes yesterday. first three holes par, par, par..then downhill. I think I am now 11 over - I am a 14 handicap player...need a good back nine tonight...I like the course so far however.

Was shaping up to be my best round ever...even after 15. Then a quad on 16, finished a deflated 5 over. Maybe round 2 will be my breakthrough!

My best rounds ever on this course. This SkyTrak and TGC are really helping my game. I feel like I am learning how to properly hit the ball! What an difference there is between a premium ball (chrome soft) vs. A worn out ball

Real well designed course. Greens were a real challenge and deep bunkers near the green. I played absolutely awful. Couldn't hit my irons for the life of me and driver was all over the place. I was so mad at myself after the first round I played the second right after to erase that experience. I was doing decent until 16th hole and nailed the water twice and finished with a 9 on that hole.

Course was indeed a nice one. I was going along nicely the front 9 sitting level par and then ran into a train (Bogey Express) on the back 9. Hole 16 was a hoot though. Incredibly lucky drive as you see in the video below. From there, 96yards, I dunked it in the water and got what I deserved...a 6. Crushing turn of emotions.

Quite a bounce...I just missed the bounce in my round on the way to a double.

That was lucky, but I have a question...How do you have an Avatar when you play??? I just see the ball sitting on the tee, no Avatar at all.

I was just wondering what the record is for the biggest difference between two rounds in a tournament. I shot a 94 on Tuesday, nothing was working and today I shot a 76. That's my best simulator and Tour round yet. An 18 shot difference is kinda crazy.

76 is a good round there. Quite a bounce back round no doubt.

I did the opposite a while ago! Even par the first round, then like 12 over the second.

Bad round for me...kept hitting all my 3 and 4 hybrids fat - might get last place on this one 105. Unless I can know shot 76...that was a huge difference. Suppose to play this morning real golf, but weather says 90 to 100 percent rain so might be teeing it up indoors instead...how lucky are we.

OK, fired an 83 then an 85 on my first return since rebuilding the sim room. The rust really showed but, I think I have a new one for you guys.

First, I have to come clean and admit to an unwarranted rewind...but here lies the story. First I have to give you the background. Part of my rebuild was to install a new microphone and voice active software to drive the system. I plugged in for all my clubs, move right, move left, next, mulligan, etc. etc.

So, I come along to the Par 3 that is about 165 yds. I hit probably my best shot of the day and send it out to the right. Like a movie script, the ball starts turning and its drawing right for the pin....now my only concern is "did I hit it hard enough?"....The ball hits about 15 ft from the cup and starts rolling right for it......wow, the ball stops about 12 inches from the cup!!! I immediately yell "Holy Crap!" and before I realize what is happening, I see the menu open up and the Rewind Shot button light up.....I scream "Stop....Stop.....Exit....Quit.....Please...." to no avail...before you can say
"damn computer" I am back on the tee box. I bogey the hole.

Not sure how the program confused "holy crap" with "mulligan" ....guess my southern accent did me in on that one.........

Haha, that sucks man. Good shot though. You need some guts to play a righty draw on that hole.

That is a bummer. I use the ipad during non tournament rounds for rewinds but i do not use it to rewind during a tournament because it misses sometimes and hits declare unplayable. That messes up things and I have to rewind to get out of it. Lgnir I talk back to john all the time. You just have to make sure you say thank you to him as well as yelling at him or else the golf gods will get you later in the round.

Yeah I say enough four letter words in my garage sim the speech recognition software will probably think I said concede hole.

I have a love/hate relationship with the voice control software. I have tried Tazti, Voice Attack, and VoiceBot. At this time I believe VoiceBot is the best in terms of performance and user friendliness.

In my opinion, the only way to have a near perfect experience is if you wear a microphone on your lapel or a headset. Both are not great when swinging a club. Right now I have installed a microphone right above the golfer's head. This just happens to be where my projector is at so I was able to run the wire and hide the microphone pretty nicely. I am pretty happy with this setup as I still have to repeat words from time to time but moving the mic really helped. Also, picking the right trigger words is crucial.

Anyway, I love playing when I don't have to keep going back to PC or iPad.

Man,for a course that seemed pretty easy, I sure stunk up the second round! Wasn't hitting my irons great (kept coming up short) and couldn't sink a putt to save my life! Sheesh!

I felt the same way...although I was hitting my irons OK but still kept coming up short. The rough made a difference for me too...

Two completely opposite rounds for me. The first round seems I can do no wrong, complete with 4 chip ins and an iron shot to give-me range on the scary 16th. The second round, I can do NO right, water, trees, bad chips, even iron shots were rushed. Go figure!

Driver is still absolutely killing me... I left it in the bag after having several under 100 yard drives on he front and moved to my go to 3 hybrid.. Really didn't do to bad (for me) after leaving the driver out of the round. Definitely hitting the ball much better however with everything except my driver every time I play now IRL and in Sim.
