Hi I finished Q school last week but don't see my handicap. Do I need to do anything else?

I made a 10 on a par 4, think it was 13 or 14. Good course but after that I packed it in on the round. Had it to 2 under at one point.

I could be wrong, but I do not believe Q school gets you a tour handicap - I think you just play in 5 tour events - however, I could be wrong. It has been a while.

Handicaps are updated on Tuesdays I believe (just once per week). I think the 5 Qschool rounds should be enough for a handicap.

            Found it:
The handicap updater runs on Tuesday which will use the rounds from the week before and will not use the rounds from the active tournament.

I like this course but I am not a fan of the mist. I feel like it makes the course look way worse than it is in real life. I enjoy the bright crisp colours of the fully lit courses

The tee balls just scream - HIT ME STRAIGHT

Thru 12 holes, enjoying it so far. The mist is odd, I don't mind it so much but wish the mini map was clear, it's like mystery golf!

Love this course, love this game. Decided I'll practice my chipping and putting on the current PGA course each week, but was enjoying the course so much I just started playing it instead. Didn't bother with the driver, just hitting off a fairway lie, but still found it to be a fun course, even if the greens are still too fast for me.

Well built course...tough scoring venue though. Definitely a tight driving course that ended up very penal with some areas of thick trees. Its much wiser to punch straight out rather than trying to go through them. Had a couple shots that doinked trees and went backwards. Shucks!! Chipped in for double on hole 2...woot woot. lol

Advice.....look at the green slopes before hitting your approach shots. There's areas of these greens that you need to avoid.

Played my first online tournament, love this game so much. Spent most of the first 9 getting it back on the fairway or out of the water. Spent most of the 2nd nine missing short birdie and par putts. Either way, had a really fun round, happy with 87 for my first round. Was looking for GI irons at lunch today, might put that thought away, these babies are really singing right now.

Any input on how I officially join the tour? When I go to golfsimulatortours.com and click on "join tour" it just reroutes me back to the Golf Simulator Forum Homepage. Do all I need to do is join this weeks tournament? I just got my setup in place so do not have a handicap or anything established on the game yet but did read through the post about setting up shot recording and followed that so far. Is there anything else I need to do or just join the tourney for this week? When I establish a golf handicap in the game will it automatically apply for tournaments or do I need to do something else? Any advice for a new member would be appreciated. I am using Skytrak. Thanks!

You don't have to log in to the tour website or set up an account there. You have to enable shot recording and follow the settings (no wind, gimmies, etc...) that are listed at the beginning of each tournament. The sticky posts at the beginning of the online forum here will give you directions on how to set up shot recording, gimmies and info on the Q school to set up your tour handicap.

Check if your shot recording is working on the tour site. You generally have one week to get your tournament rounds in. Leaderboard and scorecards are shown on the tour site as well. I don't see your name listed under tour players so you may want to check your set up.

You have to go through Q school first, nowadays. Once in TGC, select tournaments and it will display what is available to play.

Ok. so just can't join this weeks tourney? Have to join a Q school tourney first and then possibly play in the following weeks tourney or something like that? I can't figure out how to tell if shot recording is working on the tour site because everytime I go to login it just takes me back to the GolfSimulatorForum site instead. Kind of frustrating on that end.

It's been a while since i read the rules, but I don't think you have to wait to play, you just won't have a handicap to start. You could do either q school or go right into tournaments with 0 cap. Just make sure you get shot recording on and follow the settings.

Go in TGC, click play, play tournament, then select this weeks tournament in public. Seems simple? That's it.

Having said that, if you want a handicap, you can get one at Q School and you'll also need to have shot recording on or your handicap will be +36

Oh. Make sure your name is TGC is the same as it is here. Read the rules too. Seems strange but some people don't seem to. If you cheat, you'll get caught.

Perfect. Thanks for the help all. I have made the modifications and will try Q School out as well. Still no way to check if shot recording is on on GolfTours due to the weird refresh back to this page though. I have made the change on setting recordings to on under settings. Thanks again!

Underdog, scroll up and click on anyone's name on the leaderboard, then click on the menu and go to tour players. You should find your name on the list. There you will find your shot recordings. Go to non tour shot recordings to test. Play any amount of golf on tgc and it should show up there. Good luck...
