Had a really great second round going. -3 thru 13 gross. And I had a couple of putts lip out. Coulda been -5. Anyway, hit a fat 7 iron on 14 that carried the water, came up short, hit the hill, rolled back into the water. Re-tee! Did the same on the next shot. Took a quad bogey and then just fell apart. Shanked 3 lob wedges on the next hole, took a triple. Then I think I bogeyed out...turned what shoulda been at worst a 68 into a 78. Total meltdown and disappointment. Love the course tho. Love the tour. Wanna win one tho!

So you just have to eat a +7 on the hole? Man how do you come back from that? Sheesh.Originally posted by Timdm3You bend over and take your medicine. We've all done it. Hopefully after the first time you remember. I agree it sucks.
I mean why is there when a concede hole button if there is no match play mode? That doesn't make any sense.

And there is match play, but in local mode only

I asked the same question as you when I first hit it. My question fell on deaf ears.
Now I have a terrible OCD quirk to move my mouse all the way around perimeter of screen to get to setting options making sure I never hover over concede button.
-
Haha, I have the same quirk Tim. I wonder though, can a guy not just red x out of the game and not even bother with the quit button? Same result, right?

now, you fixed total putts, can you fix GIR?
After hit the approach shot close and get a gimme, GIR still don’t counted..
Doesn’t look that hard to fix, but.....

Prob the same person that made par on #15 during their first round with 9 shots. Took 6 swings to get out of the heavy rough from 124 yds out. Thought it might be some random TGC player that plays the tournaments without knowing about this site, but no...
-
It's not my place to call them out. I'm just another guy who plays in the tournaments but I don't mind pointing it out to the powers that be so they can get everyone on a level playing field here. I know it's all for fun but we are all competitive and wanna see how we do ag aisnt the other 100 or so guys here that play. If someone is going -7 Or something really good like that then you see they took 9 rewinds in 2 rounds and never made more than a bogey, that ruins it for alot of people.
-
andygg1986 yeah, you didn't have to look long I'm sure lol.
It's ridicioulous. I don't do any kind of work here but I do skim through the recorded shots from the top of the leaderboard most weeks just to see if people are taking rewinds and there's always a couple of guys with multiple cases of it. Scorecards don't add up to the amount of shots they take. It's pretty easy to see.

Here's a hardware issue of mine last night. 62yds to pin, I knew it didn't carry it enough, but I look up and it goes dead left. I check the shot info and it says 10 degrees left. I hit from about 9'6" to screen and for a shot to go 10 degrees left from that distance, I would have hit the screen over 20" left of center. I look at the ball indentation and it's in the middle. Shot lands in damn bunker.

wbond, We would definitely give you the benefit of the doubt on that one. You have a pretty clear track record of not misusing rewinds. It is usually pretty clear when a player has a hardware misread. HA is way off center, SA is in excess of 25 degrees, or ball speed doesn't make sense. I have seen HA as high as 24 degrees. I once had a 12 foot putt that read 40mph due to a ball laying in the FOV. Here is a good example of misuse of rewinds..... this is my data from a driving range. Too many times we are seeing 3 or 4 shots with similar data. This obviously means that the golfer is hitting until he is happy. Like Mthunt says " Just because you felt that you should have cleared the water doesn't mean that you did" The misuse of rewinds is a bit of a problem right now.
Everyone needs to be careful when checking data for excessive rewinds. I had a tour round where I took an 11 on the 18th hole ..... pulled a tin cup there. I think that KSman even recorded and posted that round. That water was like a magnet. It was a meltdown for sure. This is why we have to check the scorecards when looking at data. Bob is right not to take a rewind on his shot above. No sim is perfect and when the misread is not blatant we should just keep playing.Last edited by keither5150; 03-01-2018, 05:34 PM.

I would caution against using spin axis as a justification for a misread. I have only played one round this week but I had one drive read -34.9 degrees and pitch shots with my GC2 pretty much always read -20 to -25 degrees unless I'm trying to hit a flop shot. The large horizontal launch angle though or ridiculous ball speeds seem pretty straight forward since you can see where your ball hits the screen for HA and you know your 12 foot putt doesn't have a 40mph speed. I don't think most golfers can reliably say that their spin axis should have been less than what it was. It would be bad if people started saying that they took a rewind for a 26 degree spin axis when it can happen without that crazy of a swing.
Just for kicks I downloaded my tournament shot history. I have 504 shots above 25 degrees spin axis (hooks) out of 6252. Also 22 shots with above 25 degrees spin axis (slices). The largest hook was 51.6 degrees and I had 52 shots above 50 degrees. Largest slice was 51.3 degrees and two slices above 50 degrees.Last edited by andygg1986; 03-01-2018, 05:49 PM.

I had a SW from 72 hook left with -5078 rpm side spin on my GC2.... That's pretty extreme with a 3/4 SW! Spin axis of -27.4.
have no idea how that happened and I was convinced it was a misread of some sort but I was able to to get up and down for par so no harm.

theizer I see the hook spin all the time with partial wedges. I think it is a GC2 thing but I know plenty of people disagree. Here is the spin axis for all my tournament shots from 60-100 yards which are partial wedges for me. Maybe one or two was a punch shot with a 7 iron to get under a tree or something but I don't set my club in TGC to be sure. There are plenty higher than 27.4.

Can someone post a couple of examples of the FIR/GIR issue from this weeks tour scorecards? Now that we have the putting score fixed, this should not be too hard.

Thanks Bob and sb944! We will look into it.

Something weird happened. I played a few holes, TGC slowed way down and wouldn't load worth poop after showing the leaderboard after hole 3(I think) and kept showing the connectivity satellite thing in the bottom-right corner, so I quit TGC, restart pc, and when I went back to resume the tournament it put me on the 1st tee.. I'm assuming server updates or something, but for the next 36 holes everything ran perfect.
Anyone else have TGC issues on Thur evening about 9p EST?
First swings with some new irons.. jpx ez forged.. Tommy likey.
