OMG today feels like the first I've ever played golf. I couldn't get out of my own way on the front 9.

I like the course (wide open for my terrible driving) but those greens are a bit tricky! Fun track...

Just going through Q school now, so forgive my ignorance. Is it normal that the Tournament is named the Greenbrier Classic but the course is somewhere else? Do we just not have a course designed to replicate the Old White TPC?

The tournament name always matches the PGA schedule, but there isn't always a good replica of the course, or any replica at all. Sometimes people will make a course and call it the same name as a famous one, but it isn't accurate to real life. On those weeks, the tournament committee picks a "good" course to fill in. Usually it is another famous course like Chambers Bay, but other times it is just a course that has a nice layout. If you want to try designing a course, you can pick a PGA tour stop that isn't available and post about it on the forum. Then it will be used for a tournament when the PGA tour goes there next.

Other times I've picked the PGA Tour replica course that are longer and or harder than people would prefer and the reception of the pick goes badly.

I played the old white tpc, is a very tough long course, played well to shoot 81. Also played a Carnoustie, it wasn't... At all. If like to have the time and patience to make some of these courses, but don't see it happening any time soon.

Thank you for the replies! I am hoping to be able to play the tournament this weekend. I only need one more round to get my handicap. I have started playing around with the Greg Norman designing section. I would love to replicate my local goat track, but I have a feeling it will take me a loooong time to complete.

mthunt Any chance you can double check my settings, please? I see my name on the list of tour players and I see my score for my two rounds at Beth Page Black. However, I don't see any recorded shots.

Your shot recording is not working. Start from the top and check each step. There’s something extra listed in the posts for skytrak.

I suck hard at fake putting. 2 rounds, made 1 putt outside of gimme range. So many 3 putts I lost count. I real golf, I rarely 3 putt. Such a shame to lose one of my best driving tournaments I've ever had. Oh well, maybe next week....

I 3 putt a lot this week, the greens are brutal if you are on the wrong side of the hole

Agreed, but I also missed 2 birds in my second round that I should have had - under 15 feet...

Absolutely love this track. Had a really special second round going at 5 under through 14 or so... shanked 3 iron approaches after basically hitting everything inside 15 feet both rounds. Shot -1 on second round with a bogey and two doubles.

Don’t be so hard on your putting, tour average at 15 feet is less than 50%
