This tournament was all about expectations:
      * I didn't expect to start off so well, not like me
      * I then didn't expect to finish off the first round well, pretty thrilled with -2
      * I didn't expect to play round 2 directly after round 1, but I felt like my game was pretty together
      * I expected to keep playing well round 2, but completely fell apart, couldn't hit irons, couldn't chip, couldn't putt
      * I expected to be a scratch golfer when I bought a skytrak a few weeks after starting the game again. While that may still be a wild dream in the real world, it's a reality on the sim, I now don't get a single shot to help me win these comps.

Bring on the British Open. And by the way, snuck in a practice round there today. Almost no hole is difficult to reach in regulation, could go 3W, lob wedge on a lot of holes, but landing zones for getting close to pins are ridiculous, and if you miss by even a couple of yards, you could be facing a very tough hole saving shot rather than an easy birdie.

I have just quit my first round, I hate taking rewinds but this was getting beyond the joke I took hundreds. First few holes were fine then same as last week driver ball speeds just start shooting through the roof. I can push low 160's ball speed if I really really swing out of my socks, anything above 170 is in my mind is a misread. Any suggestions? Do I carry on the round and keep taking rewinds? It just doesn't feel right to me to keep taking them. And before I get a hammering for rewinds it's an even split between favourable outcomes and deep in the crud so I ain't just rewinding the bads. Example my 533 yard drive(all carry) was smack bang in the middle of the fairway, the fairway of which hole though I have no idea

I played a practice round last night and I was pleasantly surprised how fair the course was. I think of Hogan and his 1 iron shot, plus how many Open Championships that were held there and I just assumed it was going to be impossible for me to play well. Good choice, mthunt !

Glad you like it. We’ve used it in the past as well.

Really enjoyed this, found it beatable, but also punishing if you go wayward.
Played the golf of my life for 7 holes in the 2nd round scoring 5 birdies and 2 pars. Shame about the rest of it!! The first 2 holes will haunt me for a while, played then in +8 over the 2 rounds - not the best start!

For 6100 change yards this course played tougher than the yardage indicates.
greens had some movement makingn it tough to hit putts from 10 plus feet. Overall good track.
