I just need to report that I got up and down for par on #17 both time. lol

My hybrid (just got a G410 set at 20 degrees) is becoming my new favorite club in the bag!

I can report i 2 putted hole 17 both days for par but that didn't save me from the quintuple bogie on 16 or the quadruple bogie on 18 or the triple on 18 day one or some other quintuple bogie somewhere else. Oh brother what a beat down lost many a ball in the water! 3 over thru hole 17 and 23 over on the last 19 holes. Tin cup moment and then another tin cup moment and then another and another. Good thing I was in the simulator or I would have been asking my dad for more golf balls!

Kind of a brutal track! I hit a good drive on one of the holes (straight and carried 230 or so) and still didn't make the fairway. lol

Very brutal. Tight, long and water makes for a real challenge. I shouldn't have played all 36 at once. It wore me down. I decided to play one hole smart with a4 iron off the tee and i too didn't make the fairway then hit it into the woods and made double or triple. It didn't turn out to be very smart!

This course is HARD... Long (very) and narrow. I was like Driver + 3W on half of the holes.
Pin positions were not easy either.
Anyway, that's fun to try such a course (once in a year)

Anyone actually played this course? Is it really this tight?

Anyways, fun to play a course and watch everyone get absolutely destroyed. These type of courses play more like real golf, because there is punishment for going off-line unlike playing at links type course that only has heather.

I can't remember playing a round of real golf with that many widow maker holes. I had quintuple bogies and quads. You were spot on by saying absolutely destroyed though. That course looks so much better on tgc2019 though.

Nah, I for sure agree its not like a real course(I feel like some of the fairways were 12 yards wide with 1 yard of rough then TREEEEES)

What I was trying to say is that, with the tree-lined courses like augusta versus the courses like chambers bay.

Augusta, if you go far off-line you gotta chip out, but chambers bay if you go far off line, you can still go straight at the green. Part of the reason why I shot a 67 last week was because even though I hit a few drives pretty far offline, I was still able to make pars/birdies because I am pretty good with long irons.

I haven't been on the tour for a full year yet but this seems like the longest course we have played by far...have we ever played over 7,000yards before?

That's a good idea to include one long course in the rotation.
After all, it's difficult for everybody, even top players with <0 HCP !

Everything on 2019 is better. So many courses.

This course was very challenging. I just played a round on tgc2019 and it was a bit easier. You can get a good 20 to 30 more yards of roll out if you hit the short stuff. That made a huge difference. Although the water still eats your balls. I was 8 over after 16 and took a 10 on 17 and doubled 18 with 5 water balls. Ugh. My son and I were laughing pretty hard. I'll probably never play this course again unless I feel the need to be humbled.

I thought it was a great challenge......I failed that challenge, but a great challenge nonetheless haha. Seeing the insanely skinny fairways on the minimap was intimidating for sure.
