I think this is a great idea. It's just too bad there isn't an option in TGC 2019 to lock everything down with the settings the society owner chooses. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that some won't follow these exact rules. If I can find some time to play more golf I'll be sure to give it a try!
Any interest in a true sim society?

Ummm it’s a video game. Do you want to dump a bunch of sand on your mat for bunker shots too? The short game, including putting is nothing like real golf. Some of these greens make putting silly, straight putt or not. Without straight putt on the ball jumps off line immediately.

I like this idea and would sign up. It would be a lot cooler if they allowed us the join more than 5 societies. Also, it would be cool to have a society that has an owner with integrity get credit for handicap and WGR...

Yeah it’s weird that it limits us. Maybe it’s to stop societies from having lots of members but none that play.

That is weird... I don't have the Sim version yet but will be purchasing very soon... Can you drop in/out of Societies, or are you limited to the first 5? Seems like they could increase that to 10-15 and allow for more fun, would like to see that updated in the next version of TGC.

I played this course today. I have a SkyTrak that is almost 4 years old. I turned off all of the correction items in the settings including putting straight! I never use the boost so that wasn't an issue. I ended up just turning off all gimmies. Had a about 8 or so putts from inside of 3 feet. Had no issue with them. It was fun playing with wind and having to putt out. I'm not a long hitter but played decent. Ended up with 35 putts as I had more trouble adjusting to the slow green speed! Just like IRL.Last edited by delta1274; 01-08-2020, 09:27 PM.

would people rather play no gimmies but have straight putt patch on? how is skytrak with super short putts? I don't know what setting would give us 3 foot gimmies

I actually played a round on Crooked Stick last night, with gimmies off, my putt total was the same as if I had used the 6 foot gimmies, i.e I never missed any inside of 6 feet. Many of the putts were under 2 feet though, and there was one slider that just barely went in. The greens on Crooked Stick are relatively flat so maybe not the best test for this. It does take a bit longer to play though because I had to take another 14 putts I believe it was. Just thought I'd share.
For those golf nerds out there I was able to figure out how many feet of putts I made, a whopping 48 feet of putts made.... not very good.Last edited by Cklguy2013; 01-08-2020, 09:09 PM.

i played a round at my home course I built for TGC 2019. No gimmies, No straight Putt patch, no Boost and settings set to fade .. Putted better than I have since i got back to playing this season. I am on Uneekor though so YMMV.....https://youtu.be/D1Bee-PryVg
sorry about the noise, I am not sure what it is on the feed, just turn it down if you decide to check it out.

looking through my shot recording, every putt was dead straight . I did a test this morning on a flat green, hit the putt 16 degrees offline and it went in the hole dead straight 30 feet away.
Then I turned off the software, changed the setting back to off and restarted the software to play. It didn't take apparently so this whole round was with straight putting magically applying itself. And I thought I actually had a good round of putting lol.

I always close back out reenter and double check setting to make sure i'm good to go.
