Nice shot there!! Congrats. I agree with ksman, thats pretty much the main reason Ive started recording my rounds, would love to catch myself hitting a shot like that

Shot my best ever score in round 2, -3. Played round 3 tonight and shot 5 over. Still under my handicap, but really played badly. Drives were way right, and irons were way left. couldnt hit anything straight. Had a chip-in birdie on 17.

Very nice playing in the second! It may be a scoreable course for some with it being shorter but we still have to go out an do it and its super easy for things to just slip away and blow up no matter what the course or distance. There are a few spot where its easy to just drop 2 or 3 in the water right away and destroy your round, so definitely an awesome round!

Hey guys. This was my first tournament. it was a ton of fun but my handicap coming out of qschool seems way too generous (22.5). Can one of the admins push it down to 0 for now? I played great and finished +16 and I'm concerned that if this is scored net that I'll finish higher than I should. I know the caliber golfer I am and it's not the kind that should be winning anything.

Where can we see tournament results that include net scores? The leader board on tcgcloud is only gross scores.

Looking at results... So Tour Handicap on the leaderboard is different than what it says in the game itself? Is that always the case? I'm confused how the net scores are so low. Are handicaps always a mystery?

Why don't I have a tour HC? I completed Q school before entering this tournament. I think my handicap was around 9.

We appear to be in the same boat. Mine said 7 after q-school, but says 2 on the results which is the average of my 3 rounds. 0 was the average of your 3 rounds...

How did i go from an 8.3 handicap last week to 0 this week. I shot 79 and 83 in that tournament, so it wouldn't have went down?

              These were my handicaps for each tournament since completing q school, shell 8.1 (71/79), masters 8.3 (76/77/73), RBC 8.3 (83/84), Valero 8.3 (80/76), Zurich 8.3 (71/70), Wells 8.3 (79/83)

Let me know what you think it should be and we will adjust it. Some scoring is very low compared to previous rounds/handicap, so the system adjusted accordingly.

                wbond - 8.3 ?
                Godfather - 7 ?
                Bama - ?

I think my handicap should go down over the next couple of tournaments. Those were 5 of my first rounds on a simulator. I'm more comfortable putting, with the software, swinging inside, etc now.

                      Agreed 8.3

Also all the scores were very low. When looking at the first page of the leaderboard (15 players), 44 of 45 rounds were below handicap and the the other one was right at handicap. Also, 7 out of 15 players had rounds that were significantly lower (more than 10 strokes) then their handicap, myself included.

I would expect going into next week the vast majority of us would see handicaps go down.

wbond, are you saying that your handicap should be 8.3 even though you've shot -14 in the last tournament, And 70/71 at Zurich and some other decent scores but that others should have their cap go down?

No, hence the "us" comment? And if they used anything close to a decent handicap system it would more than likely be that mine would go down a lot. Going into this tournament it would have been 8.3 since that is where i started the previous tournament at and then shot +18 for two rounds so slightly above or at 8.3. If you care to post, then read what has been posted so you understand what is being questioned.

Yes mine was 7 after Q-school and this is my first tournament and first rounds after Q-school.

I do find handicaps being the average of scores to be odd. Is there any reason we can't have handicaps calculated according to USGA (or CONGU or whatever other international system)? After Q-school I was expecting only my best or 2 best of the 5 differentials to count, but that wasn't the case. Whatever the system is, some information on how it's calculated and some transparency to see players' scores over time and the course/slope rating of those scores would be great.

Can of worms! I respect how difficult this is for ProTee.
A true 15 handicap shouldn't shoot -32 NET, but 4 of my last 6 competitions before this were +20, +34, +36, +30 NET and I've had a handicap here since September, so it's not a newbie thing (the other two were -14 and -16 I think though for context).

Q-School averages will surely be higher than true handicap due to the "newness" of the game/sim etc and the in-game handicap isn't a fair measure either.
Using gross scores for calculating handicap isn't great as one week we play an open, short low scoring round - the next is a long, tight, bruiser of a course and not everyone plays all comps so we have to look at scores relative to each other taking course into equation - which I think was referenced earlier by ProTee.

I don't know the system/formula used here but for my 2p worth we need a bigger penalty when someone wins to drag them back into the pack.
If we all played off scratch it makes sense for the same golfers to win each week. While we are on handicaps, it doesn't.
When I wasn't shooting +34 I managed to win a comp a few weeks back and I don't think my handicap adjusted much at all, probably due to how often I also play terrible rounds but with an adjustment I would have been playing off a lower handicap by now along with others who were shooting so far under par.

But regardless, all high-mid handicappers deserve the chance to shoot their best rounds and register great scores when playing great...it just shouldn't happen repeatedly with a handicap system in place, in my opinion. Things like coaching and pro tips can make such a difference to us higher handicappers and produce instant returns (thanks to ShankyGolf for my tips that have really tightened up my game).
                        Just my 2p worth...

An 8.3 that shot -14 gross? Protee adjusts handicaps when the scores don't match the handicap. Protee manages th handicaps.

Between the scores above and this tournament, you list 16 scores. The average of the 16 scores is 75.25. Under what handicap system is that 8.3?

Well first you don't count these scores into handicap for this tournament. A handicap would be established prior to the start. These would be counted against the handicap going into the next tournament. I have no clue on how their handicap works which is why i asked. If i have a handicap at the previous tournament of 8.3 and shoot above that, then how can it go down for this one. Under what handicap system would that work?
