Can you really carry a 3-5 degree launch drive 270 yards? I didn't think that was possible. I thought that kinda carry required a high degree of launch unless you have a crazy, crazy ball speed.

Ball speed in the 165-175 will carry over 250 with a low LA. and you get a lot of roll. Most of my drives are probably 5-9 though. Today IRL I hit a worm burner that never travelled higher than my shoulders about 230. Years of shooting hockey pucks may have something to do with it. I have tried swinging slower for more accuracy but with my current swing I hit about 70% of the fairways so that's not too bad. Swinging slower doesn't mean more fairways for me. Today I was 10 for 14 Firs IRL.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ItQ6_5SZDVk Here is an example of one of my rewinds while chipping. You can clearly see the ball hit the screen 10 inches up, which is 11 feet away. Yet the ball spins backwards a few inches. Most rewinds are clear. If it's not you shouldn't rewind it.

Skytrak user here. I've been afraid to use rewinds in tournaments, so I never have.

I'm still learning a lot about my swing, ball contact and ball speeds, so I usually accept what it gives me, even around the greens when balls seem to roll forever.

Now, in practice rounds I rewind once per hole it seems, and every now and then I'll have a tin cup moment and rewiND a shot 10-20 times.

Interesting to see all the rewinds. The guys playing on the other site have zero rewinds for the entire field in the entire tournament. Better approach IMHO.

I agree with you to an extent but they rolled out those rules for GC2 users. I was part of the beta. There's no need Rewinds with that launch monitor. We discussed it here. There are too many technologies in play that require rewinds. It can't be done with this software. Those guys just told the skytrak users they'll have to suck it up. Neither is perfect in my opinion. It's all just for fun.

I agree as a SkyTrak user that I can live without rewinds in tournaments, and would actually prefer it to be disabled. If something happens incorrectly I would rather just live with it then worry about the rewind. I would at least like for them to give it a shot in one of the next tournaments.

It's a handicap tour though, that already compensates for different systems. I'm thinking if misreads are materially affecting scoring for a given system then the handicap will correct for it.

That only works for systemic system issues though. As soon as a human gets in the loop it becomes non-systemic and can't be corrected.

Faultyclubs has an excellent point. I would be totally fine without rewinds. I will just have to pay closer attention to my FOV being that I have a two camera system. The handicap system will eventually have the missed rewinds factored in so your net would be the same anyway.

1 rewind in the last 7 tournaments and even that one was questionable.

I have mentioned this before...... If you save a replay, you can watch your whole round via the replay section in stats. Make this available to the public and show rewinds and autorewinds. Keep the rounds on the server for a week then delete them. I personally would love to watch some of the best players rounds. Secondly, nobody would dare use a rewind that wasn't legit if their round was on display. In fact, they would be more likely just to suck it up and continue. It is better to watch a round via replay than a recorded YouTube video as it would be a little shorter and you could skip certain shots.

Looking forward to getting a start on our major this afternoon. Been really busy the last few days and haven't had a chance to play yet. I'm claiming a 79 IRL after my outdoor round on Wednesday. Took my son to play the course where he plays his tournament this weekend. Was sitting at a 76 going into the final par 3 18th. Weather horn sounded as t-storms were moving in. I went ahead and hit my shot into the green just to see if I would have had a chance. Ended up 36 feet away from the hole. I'm pretty confided I would have 2-putted from that distance. So technically wasn't a 79, but I'm claiming it :-).

Id be fine with sucking it up when I have a misread as well with my skytrak if they turn the rewinds off completely. Would be interested in giving that a go for a tournament or two to try it out if its even possible. But I do know some systems have a lot more misreads than others, so being able to see the rounds and rewinds would be a nice play. Even then though, without seeing the golfer actually hitting the shot in real life (or video), you cant really tell if they hit it well or possible bladed it causing the chip to have super low spin or whatever though just the video game replay, but it will at least be a deterrent from people using them I guess.

Any ball park time table on when the replay viewing option or at least a stat on how many rewinds were taken may become available to us ProTee United? The preview of the new scorecards and tour info look fantastic and im guessing the ability to view rounds and/or rewinds may hopefully come with that, but who knows

Wow . . . I tell you I have not been as frustrated with a tournament since going through qualifying school and having no idea how to use the software. Something went COMPLETELY WONKY. I should have known something was wrong when I started the tournament and had no sound. The inconsistencies were just terrible chipping and then midway through the third round I completely lost my ball tracer and on some shots I couldn't even see my ball at all until it switched cameras. I'm not joking it was as if the stimp meter got changed midway through the round. Putts that should have been going 10 feet were going 18 feet and they were UPHILL putts. I was going to say why I played all three rounds I don't know, but I do know. I'm just so stinking competitive and knew that the results I was getting was not what it should have been based on the way I've been playing (see post above). Then in the last round I would hit one straight and then just banana slice the next one. IRL I couldn't have hit a banana slice if you would have paid me a million dollars. Tried to exit the software and got the spinning wheel of death, so then I definitely knew something was screwed up. Restarted the machine and the software and everything was back to normal :-(. So this week will not be reflective at all and I can't remember the last time I shot a round in the 90s indoors. I'm tired, frustrated and mad. I'm going home :-).

I really liked this course. I struggled the first 2 rounds but did ok for me on the third. I tend to spray it around a bit and I hit very few fairways. Scrambling my way to just over bogey golf for the tourney.
