@protee - any reason why my second round never appeared on the leaderboards? Checked shot tracking and all shots are there. Round wasn't great- just want to make sure I didn't mess up somehow.

Strange indeed, but we found your round2 score and fixed it.

Well that stunk BIG TIME. Moral of this story is if you don't have your game set of clubs wait until you go get them :-). At least for me. We had a night golf tournament the other night (which we won with a -7) and it was so late when we got done I just left them on my cart. Had some free time today so I game two different set of irons I had in the office. Bad idea.

Did have some nice chips, but a couple of wonky ones as well, but I think it's getting better. I used my old putter and did okay, but holed just one putt outside of 10 feet I think. For some reason I thought these greens played a LOT more break in them even though the rolling dots weren't moving any faster and sometimes slower than last week. I never did get adjusted to that. Definitely would have been a good tournament to play a practice round or two on even with the right set of sticks.

Postive was I was absolutely crushing my driver. Direction still isn't where I need it to be, but the contact was the best it's been in a long time. I think 284-285 was my longest, but I bet I probably averaged 260, which for me on SkyTrak is good.

Very disappointed that I now have to wait a full week to see all these low numbers come in before I can get back in.

If i sucked at putting it would have been an improvement. I had around 16 or more putts inside of 11' and couldn't make squat. So many 7 and 8 footers that had hard breaks and just could not figure it out. Add in a water ball, two way misses and score goes north real quick.

When does this event close? I am close to having a HC and may try to play this tournament.

Had it to 4 under in round 2 and finished 11 over. Total meltdown. Took an 11 on #18. I could not stop chunking my pitch shot.

That was some really good golf Cklguy2013. I had it going for a while myself until I choked a bit on the way in and then lipped out putts on the last 3 holes. Looking forward to the second round!

Thanks, I was definitely steering it a bit more in round 2.. lol.. Actually in round 1 didn't even really know what I was shooting until I was done and saw the scorecard.

I am a TGC newb... so here comes my redundant question. I have played 5 hc non-tournament rounds. I have a handicap of 34.5. I would love to play this weeks tournament but do not want to look like a clown when I come in much lower. I am a 3.5 IRL. Putting still has the best of my in TGC but I will get the hang of it. I played Congressional and shot 87 (If I recall correctly). What should I do?

tour handicap is a different than non tour HC. You will be set at 0 until you have 5 tournament rounds or go through Q school. However it does look like ProTee gives you a tour HC before 5 rounds..... Look at Birdiball on the tour site.
                http://golfsimulatortours.com/player...country=United States

He has a HC with 3 rounds. Only tour and Q school rounds count towards your tour HC.

I think you should play, and not worry about what you score net wise.

From the Q School Thread: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...-2017-q-school
"You need to have played at least 5 tour rounds in order to establish a tour handicap. If you played less you will start at 0.0 until your 5 tour rounds are played.
To speed this up play Q-School.

If you already have 2 rounds in, play the Q-School major and you will have your handicap before the next tour event starts next week.

The handicap you see in TGC is your game handicap. Not your tour handicap."

I would say if you have time to play 7 rounds before Sunday. Play Q School's 5 rounds then play this week's tournament. If you only have time for 5 rounds, play the Q school major and then this week's tournament. Then you can play the last 2 q school rounds next week.

If you only have time for 2 rounds, I would go ahead and play this week's tournament as a 0 cap, then finish up Q school when you get a chance.

Its a ton of fun! I look forward to every stop.

I believe that they only update handicaps once a week...... Tuesday I think. So get your 5 rounds in before they update or you will have to be 0 handicap for an extra week. Tour Handicaps are not live as far as I know.

Try practicing on Range 2 ProTee SFR. That driving range has a big flat putting green with multiple pins to the right of the tee. Chip in on there and turn on Auto rewind. This will help with your weight. As for elevation...... I use a general rule of 1 inch = 1 foot more distance. Okay it's not totally accurate but it's a good guideline. As for reading the break..... this is where TGC is fantastic. Just like real life, speed plays a huge factor in the break. A faster shot will break less.... IRL, we have all read the break, but ran it past the break due to too much weight. The same applies in TGC. I used to be one of those guys that thought putting was useless on a sim. Now I can't believe how accurate and realistic the ball physics are.

A good drill that I use for putting is.... I putt 5,10,15,20 feet and so on all the way up to 60 feet and then I go back down to 5 feet. If I miss one of the distances by a lot, I retry. This drill has helped my putting a bunch.

Keep practicing you will get the hang of it soon.

I agree with Keith, I figure on 1 extra foot of either up or down for each inch of elevation. Also, practice just hitting your screen with the putt, determine your distance and work off of there.

Awesome tips... Thanks for the feedback. Does anyone know how long distance wise STrak is reading the putt. I am putting off a CCE & wonder if I am running out of mat before the read is done. I am open to any other tips. My ball striking has been quite good for me.. I am just 3 & 4 putting myself into high rounds.

Other Newb question. as far as green settings. When playing tournaments I assume that it defaults to everyone playing the same settings. Are there any other settings I need to be concerned with? Thanks in advance.
