    Launch angles

Just fished setting up my cameras. After a lot of trial and error i have both working decent. Will post capture later.
My launch angles seem to be a little low, is this normal? Or do I need to raise or lower the Vcam.

Don't see which hardware you are using but I have protee and if v cam is level with the surface and the ball in the square it is right on. I have been working on lowering my launch angle and believe me, it will capture the high ones just fine. If you are talking about driver, make sure you have offset to match your normal tee height. This will be easy to see if you have driver selected in interface and ball line should start at ball location. Mine is set to 4. Also v cam mode on mine is pt1.

Thanks for reply. I'm using protee system. I have the vcam currently set to pt1 and h cam on pt4. I will take picture of my setup when I get home. I have everything lined up with ball in red square. Wasn't sure if the height of the vcam would effect launch angle readings?

OK, and also if you could capture a ball streak on an iron and a driver, it would be helpful.

Looks like the VCam is working properly, but it also looks like you have a very low launch angle for all your clubs.

My launch angles usually are not that low. Does the height of vcam make any difference?

The thing that jumps out at me is the clubhead arc. It looks like it picks up after the ball by quite a bit. I didnt have a chance to look at mine last night but seems odd. I also am not seeing the red square though some modes dont have that. Yes, height does matter, depends on height of mat/platform. Your best bet is to open a ticket with ProTee, they are very good about helping and will even remote in and look. They are on Europe time though so if you are in US or Canada, it will probably be tomorrow before they get back to you. They also follow this forum and will chime in from time to time.

Clubhead arc might look odd, I forgot to mention I'm left handed. My red square doesn't show up in pt5 mode. Thanks for comments.

I had issues with PT5 also. Thats why I mentioned PT1, I though you had said you also used that. I would definitely change to PT1.

These pics look great. Camera is on the floor and horizontal aligned with the floor. Readings are valid.
You can tilt the camera a bit left/right to increase/decrease the measured angled. Other than that, I would not change a thing.

Tilt the camera? That's not the answer, it defeats the whole purpose. Readings are not valid, that's what he is saying. I doubt he hits it 6 degrees also if he is good enough to have 165 swing speed. PT5 is the most likely culprit, I had the same issue. Need to use PT1.

Thanks protee for comments. I will try tilting the camera. Also ball speeds seem a little high. My ball speed is normally around 165mph. Protee is showing around 175mph. Is my lighting off just slightly?
                        thanks again

Poor lighting will cause speeds to read wrong I can say from experience. Main thing is plumb from sensor light and of course have narrow beam. Are you using ProTee lights or your own? Also, second light barely overlapping first works best for me. If I move that, it seems to affect speed more than anything. Cant recall which is which but I think the more towards the first light (i.e. more overlap) it is higher but could be the oposite. I played with it until it matched my driver ball speed from the gc2 I used at golfsmith. Sounds like you have a good idea of your ball speed so you should be able to match it up as well.

it's hard to get the camera perfectly level because of the fisheye effect. what i did was put a ball on either edge of the cameras field of view, making sure they were both centered, and then level the vcam using the balls as reference points. i also had issues with ball speed being too high. your light over the hitting area could be a factor if not properly aligned. otherwise, there are sliders that allow you to adjust ball speed per club.
