Update status

ProTee United - are you able to let us know the status of the update that had been planned for January/February? I know there were bugs to be worked out, but it's been a few weeks since I've heard anything on this. Very much looking forward to the camera position setup and (hopefully) the universal weather/sun option to make all courses play in bright direct overhead light. Are we getting close to a release?

Haha! I'm not trying to start beef or berate anyone, I promise. That was Luv2Golf's job. Everyone is very much entitled to their opinion. I just felt the need to defend rdh considering the work he's put in on the HB forums on the sim player's behalf (a few others on here have contributed greatly to that cause as well). Ok, moving on. I will just add I have backed off on these requests for updates and it will happen when it happens. I do work in IT and yes, some projects can be moving targets but my responsibility if I am late on a project is to keep my customers updated. "Working on it" wouldn't go over too well as a reply. Protees support is top notch but the communication on this update has been lacking.

Update will be coming Bnorman but not sure when. It's tied up with programming at this point, solving bugs etc. etc. I want it out yesterday as well and hard to be patient. No question they are working on the update.

Thanks Bubba. I have just learned to live with TGC the way it is and it's not that bad now that I have gotten used to it. Would I like the features that are coming? Absolutely. It takes too much time and energy to keep asking for status. It wont help matters move along. I am guilty of being not so diplomatic in the way I have put things in the past so I dont want to come across wrong. ProTee has been great at responding to tickets and helping me with issues. I'm sure they are doing all they can to get this done. I just see some people getting a little frustrated. I have learned to just put it out of mind and when it happens, it happens.

They've had issues in the PC/console version with that as well, so that's not a big surprise...is it players losing connections and dropping out?

If the match play is the problem area I'd be all for what Boo's requesting...to get an update so we can start using the camera setup and lighting changes while the match play continues to be worked out.

It's frustrating when stuff we want takes a long time. I begged for auto rewind forever. It is what it is. Things are coming slowly but surely. I imagine the priority is making skytrak work perfectly for the good folk that just dropped a lot of coin.

Online match play had an issue where one player sees what the score is and other sees something different. That's the kind of stuff that's going. Is there a way to have a post on the forum that only protee or admins can access and keep a running record of what version of TGC is current? I just randomly saw a post the last time the software was updated and had to request update through Protee. I've requested to get email alert about updates but not sure I'm on that list or if it exists. Just want to know I'm running the latest and greatest. Don't want to be waiting for option like horizontal offset only to find it was released 6 months ago and I didn't notice it through the bazillion posts.

2.9 was released Feb 1. It goes out on a mailing list to the email you used to buy it. If you're not getting it, there might be a spam block. Definitely email Protee asking to be added. 3.0 had some bugs. They are being ironed out but I imagine the issues with Skytrak phantom shots and such has been prioritized over fixing the bugs thus the delay. Damn Skytrak. Offset should be on 3.0. Don't know when. The online match features are really slick.

thanks. didn't think about the spam thing. haven't tried the online match stuff but maybe easier than our outing on PG the other day! my GC2 has gone in for repairs. it had become my daily workout routine. real golf for now I suppose.

It does work a lot better but I don't know if it's on 2.9. It's been a long time since I had it. You just select online match play after you hit play and invite the friend to the tee. There's other games like 4 ball as well.

Wow! That's incredible! Some of those additions I'm not even sure exactly what they mean yet, but so many that I wasn't expecting like the mini map controls and all that are going to be added. Posted without watching the video, just watched it and damn! Haha that mini map looks incredible! These features you just showed in the video alone are already going to take the experience to a whole another level for me now........eta? Haha had to ask after seeing it now
