I posted a video not long ago that showed my setup, you can buy a lighning to VGA/HDMI adpater on Ebay for less than $20.00 and yes that setup in the video is connect via my wifi network and is working fine.Originally posted by flydigital View PostHi all,
I have been watching this thread for a while and pre-ordered a while ago. Should have my unit tomorrow and will post up my own review from playing with it this weekend.
Even not having the unit yet, I'm excited about the purchase and glad that the "relatively small" issues are being addressed: High spin shots calculations, left handed usage, and some club/history and connection issues. Beyond that it looks like PC simulation is coming and I'm confident this will be a solid product in the end at a great value vs. the competitive products. For now, practice feedback with mid and long clubs looks to be spot on and that is the main thing I will be using it for.
Has anyone had success getting Skytrak on the wifi network so that internet can be used, and in my case, airplay to projector can be used? It seems some have had issues with this. I will need to get a lightning->hdmi adapter if it doesn't work.

The delay may be ok for practice but certainly not for simulation.Originally posted by sb81 View PostUsed mine for a good hour, pretty much same experience as others, overall pretty awesome. Does seem any flop shot over ~45 degrees is currently unreadable. Also did seem to have more non registers than most seem to report but might have to do with my new mat that is still slightly curved at the edge where the skytrak was. Also for practice the delay seems to be a non issue. Might make more of a difference during sim play if it carries over.

For me at least, simulation is the idea that when I hit into the screen it should be a true to life as possible, a 4-5 sec delay is not. Also without a delay you know immediatley if your shot registered. The software being produced today is striving for a realistic golfing experience with HD graphics, physics, ball movements, etc. A 4-5 sec delay in this just kills that "real" feeling of golf.Originally posted by Robbies190 View PostCan you please explain why the delay is not ok for simulation. I understand this may be a "dumb" question but is it because it slows speed of play down?

From SkyTrak:
1) The left handed push/pull issue is addressed in the v1.7 app that is being submitted today.
2) Keep in mind that golf simulation is going be almost exclusively PC based. Delay is almost instantaneous on a computer.
3) Users can try positioning the ball a tad forward of the red dot for super high launch shots since the ball isn’t traveling forward as much.

Maybe, this will solve my mystery regarding my high launch shots not being registered. Let me try this evening. Thanks!Originally posted by Zmax View PostFrom SkyTrak:

after trying this i got a reading at 46 degrees.
also, i tried using the xswing app and could not get it to work. But, i could use the leveling portion of the app. my setup was off by 1 degree and 1 degree of roll. didn't seem to help much after leveling it out with my shots. must be built into the system to self adjust to the ground.
this is just a guess but i started hitting hooded pitching wedges to take off the back spin. seems to register the correct distance as long as i kept the spin under 7k. i am starting to wonder if the people that said it showed the correct distances for their wedges just have a low spin rate.
enjoy. i can't wait for the updates.
