I obviously spent a chunk of money for it, but I didn't spent money for gas and range balls which are usually worn out so that they give me untruthful feedback.
As a side note, I was able to do a ball fitting myself with Skytrak. I wanted to cut down the budget for balls and I tested about 10 different golf balls to find the best mid-priced balls. 'Callaway Hex Chrome' ($30 or so per dozen) was the winner for my game. The spin rate for wedges is very close (if not identical) to Pro V1 or Pro V1x. The ball speed for irons is 2-3 mph higher than others including Pro V1x and Pro V1, which can be translated into 4-7 more yards for each club. It feels soft enough (but not as much as Pro V1x) and sounds good when I hit.
If you are looking for a low priced golf ball, I strongly recommend Srixon SoftFeel. Everything was great except the lower spin rate for wedges.
Ah... Taylormade Project (a) is the worst... Everything except the higher spin rate for wedges was crappy .... Avoid it...Just FYI.
Jel, HKS,
I could not agree more, I have had my unit since November and have been using it just about every weekend to work on very specific issues such as my low irons and my driver. I used it in conjunction with my GoPro camera this whole winter to develop a consistent base swing and body turn with my driver and low irons. I was getting great results on the screen and felt really good. The true test came this past Saturday when the range was finally open and I could hit some balls for real. After a good xlarge bucket, I have to say that I have never felt as confident in my 4, 5, & 6 irons as I do right now, and my Driver has never been as consistent as I was hitting this past weekend.
I can attribute this to my sessions this winter in the garage, no doubt, as I now know what to feel and how the ball will react. I am looking forward to the updates and the sim play, but for me so far this has paid huge dividends, and I know now that I can work on something and trust the results.

Unfortunately, still waiting on Apple. Strange actually that it is taking so long.
Thanks to everyone for the great reviews about SkyTrak!!! To the poster who posted about yellow/orange balls, definitely use white. That's the problem. You can get away with yellow sometimes outdoors, but inside, there just isn't even contract on the balls for us to do our measurements with yellow and especially orange.

Did they give any indication on how much longer until approval.

Sim side - I'm afraid that I don't have much to report in that category, except that WGT and TruGolf will be released in the coming months. There is a lot of back end work that still needs to take place. But both apps are amazing! Selfishly, we are having a blast hitting on them here at the office
1.8.5 - No, Apple doesn't give any indication of when it will be approved/rejected. Typically they are around 5 days. Communicating with them is kind of like talking to a brick wall.

I still have no useful data on the SkyGolf360.com website (a single shot logged back in January, despite having logged over 1,000+ shots since December, 2014 through today), despite multiple assurances from Seth that all my logged shot data are, in fact, being stored and synced, and that it is just a display issue on the iPad that is preventing the iPad from showing history from anything other than the current session.
Is anyone else actually seeing all their logged session history data, for each shot originally recorded on the iPad by their SkyTrak, on the SkyGolf360.com website, or is it just me? FYI, the SkyTrak360 app on the iPad is still not capable of showing any SkyTrak data yet for anyone, but I hear rumors, but no confirmed reports from users yet, that their data is syncing and actually fully displayed on the SkyGolf360.com website. If you are one of them, step forward, please, and be counted! Otherwise, we still have no syncing going on, and nothing anywhere to prove otherwise, in which case the device is still a "live only" launch monitor with no ability to record shots after the session has ended, except through screen shots on the iPad, which works, but is far from ideal.

I too have had the same experience Trip. 360 logged 1 or 2 shots on about 3 days back in December(Which I thought I did a direct connect) and absolutely nothing since. I have tried to connect via the internet multiple times lately and all have ended with frustration and throwing up my arms and simply doing the direct connect and hitting away. Misery loves company so you are not alone in this boat.
SkyTrak is a great little device and I absolutely love it but there is some serious anguish that goes along with any new product and this is no exception. Had a lesson with my coach yesterday and he commented on how nice my swing has come along in the off season and I attribute that to my hitting bay with SkyTrak.
March has come and went now with no inkling of Sim as well. Add that to the list of frustrations!
Patience is sometimes hard to have when we have a new toy but I'm trying to practice some with this little device and know that you are not alone in your frustration.

All of my shots are on the skygolf website from Dec 1 through my last session last weekend. I find it pretty useful. Unfortunately, it shows just how inconsistent i can be. You can sort by all the different measurement parameters and by each club.
Seth, has the app update been rejected? Two weeks and still waiting?

My data had been showing up on Skygolf360 until a few days ago. I switched to Direct Mode to help with consistent logging of my swings, ever since then all I get is "waiting to sync". I switched back to network connected, restarted the app, restarted the iPad, still all i get is "waiting to sync." I believe my next course of action should be to uninstall and reinstall the app. I'll try that and report my findings. Direct mode DOES help with logging swings. However, appears to kill syncing, even when turned off.
