I've played the PC game versions of both PG and TGC, but I haven't played the full-sim versions of either yet. I've heard that the full-sim versions may have different features than the regular game versions, so it would be great to be able to check them all out. But of course they have to actually be released first.

My skytrak started froze up a few times while playing e6. I tried to go into the menu and the back in but I could never get the laser back and the top light stayed red. The only thing to do was restart the unit. Does anyone have any tips for prevting this or ways to recover?

Happened to me. I hit replay shot and came back on line. Works every time E6 freezes.

Gotta ask, how's good ole Wade Hampton? Any course improvements? Superintendent keeping the course clean?

Is there anyone, if they ever buy E6, that will play that course again once sim software is released?

The course is definitely very clean, so it's got that going for it!

Also, I noticed that the Feb. issue of Golf Digest lists Wade Hampton at #48 on the list of the top 100 greatest courses in the world. Interesting....

SDL, #48......really. Well then I'd say it's a must play IRL. Shoot we all know the track really well!!

No doubt. I would hate to play that late par 3 (16 or 17?) IRL. I struggle with it on a sim. What a terrible place to put a tree!

Luv2golf, you've got some great trips planned! The only course I've played in Ireland was Ballybunion and it was great. I'd love to play Royal County Down if I ever get back there. That same Golf Digest list ranks RCD as the best golf course in the world. After your trip, be sure to let us know if you agree. After thinking about playing all these great courses IRL, it's kind of hard to get quite as excited about sim golf.

luv2golf you should figure out how to get to tralee, I've played all of those - would substitute with dooks if I had to.

hasselboxster, I am playing tralee too. I forgot it from the list........the trip is through the PNGA which is our Pacific Northwest Golf Association: Here's the complete list, a few of us are extending the trip to go to NIR to play Royal Portrush of of course I'm not going that far and not going to play Royal County Down:

Old Course at Ballybunion – legendary and historic, ranked No. 8 by Golfweek in Great Britain & Ireland, with Tom Watson as a past Club Captain.
Old Course at Lahinch – Old Tom Morris and Alister MacKenzie amongst the designers, ranked No. 11 by Golfweek.
Waterville Golf Links – a top-5 course in Ireland, first opened in 1889 and renovated in 1973, with Payne Stewart as a past Club Captain.
Tralee Golf Club – Arnold Palmer’s first European design, a links course at its finest.
Dooks Golf Club – founded in 1889, Dooks is one of the 10 oldest golf clubs in Ireland.
Old Head Golf Links – one of the most spectacular and recognized links settings in Ireland.

luv2golf where would you place Bandon (any of the bandon course) amongst those other courses you named? I have been to Bandon several times but non of the others so just wanted to get a feeling for them. Sorry, don't meant to get off topic.

Whistiling Straights is Number 1.....I would pay the $500 again in a heart beat. Bandon Dunes 2, Pacific Dunes 3, Shadow Creek (vegas) 4, Chambers Bay 5.

But read my comment above of the courses I'll be playing over the next 5 months........gotta feel that top 5 list is going to change.

Back to Bandon, it's worth the trip 100%. Not to pricey to stay there, after your first 36 holes you can play for free, My buddy and I did 103 holes in 2 days.

Yes, I was noticing the courses you've played and the ones your going to. Very nice. I've been to Bandon and stayed several times, been to Harding park. Heading to Indian Wells in a couple of weeks, but I like where your going. That looks unreal. Never been to Ireland. Have fun. Thanks for your opinion also, much appreciated.

I bit the bullet and bought Win 10 to put on my mac mini 2012. It has 16 GB RAM and the graphics card should be good enough to play. I will be installing the e6 demo and giving that a go tonight.

Okay so I am hoping there is something I can do to tweak a little more out of the Mac Mini. Here are the specs:

Late 2012 model, running Win 10 via bootcamp.
            i7 @ 2.60 GHz 4 CPUs, 16 GB total RAM.
Intel HD Graphics 4000 - 2 GB RAM
            DirectX 11.2

I can run the game, it's just slow and choppy when you get into the actual gameplay. Are there any Windows or E6 tweaks I can try to smooth things out? By all I have read it looks like this machine is plenty good enough?

            Thanks!

It could just be the integrated video because everything else seems more than enough. I run it on an amd quadcore 2.8ghz (I forget the model but its 10 years old I would guess, Ive built three computers since) it has 4gig of ram and a geforce 9800gt video card (prolly 10 years old at least I would say) and it runs perfectly fine no choppiness or anything, I was amazed at how well it ran honestly.

I was afraid of that. The Intel 4000 uses system RAM for more GPU power but that's not a discrete GPU. I also don't think you can add an external GPU to a Mac Mini, so this may be what I can have. It's not bad as long as you don't have to use the mouse.

Based on this though I am hoping PG runs better.

So is the only way to connect to the E6 demo through wifi or is there a way to connect direct with the USB? I have my unit in my garage and the connection isn't strong so I have used direct connect up until this point. I installed the demo but it wasn't picking up the ST unit, wondering if I possibly did something wrong.

I only connect via USB. Never used WiFi with the laptop. Always USB for e6 and the skytrak software as well. So no problem

I don't know if it is just me or the cadence that I am trying to get everything to work but I just continually get an error to the tune of " trutrac system not recognized or found".

Did I miss a post or thread where it was announced that e6 supports Skytrak? On the e6 site it lists Skytrak as a supported device and it seems to indicate you can purchase for use with Skytrak.

Many of us skytrak users have been using the e6 demo since October or whenever it was released to work with skytrak, there was no official announcement about the demo, it was a silent thing. The device has been listed as supported for 8 months or more.

Anyone notice carry distance to be a little longer on E6 range compared to Skytrak range? I noticed my 3 wood carried around 240 yards on E6 range compared to 220 on the Skytrak range?

If you hit a draw - for sure. Draws on e6 go on forever.

E6 makes everybody a better golfer... Think it's common knowledge that the distances are amped up somewhat. Certainly felt that way to me.

Thought of something else with regards to sim options. Installed win 10 on my much more powerful iMac and mirrored the screen to an Apple TV box in the garage. Tried it and it was awesome!!
