Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Any idea on cost yet ? I'd need a new laptop / PC to run it and then, netting and projector.
Not a cheap open but worth it for the winter and evening practice when can't get the course.

Don't waste your time with a laptop. I have never seen one yet that would handle the heat, and all the stuff u put inside makes heat and costs twice as much for a laptop. If you don't think you can build your own you can get fair deals on Newegg or ebay. But I would not waste my time on a laptop.Protee

I have an alienware gaming laptop that I purchased off ebay last year for $700 that runs just about everything. I agree with the heat problem, but in the winter my garage is cold enough that it should not be an issue. Also, I cannot leave a system out there because of that cold and a laptop is easier to lug in and out.
It would be great if we could get some specs or minimum system requirements for this software that way we can at least prepare, you may be right Hoosier, it may require a desktop.

That's for the replies a desktop would be fine as I'm looking at using the back wall of the conservatory and making a fold down screen not sure yet.
The desktop could sit in corner and just left connected to the projector which I also thinking of using it as abit of a cinema room also.
luv2golf I have no idea what your point is ?

I personally am not interested in the skytack if they do not fix the delay issue. Dont think i could ever get used to it after 2 years with the almost instantaneous launch with the protee. The early builds of TGC had these delays occasionally and it drove me nuts. Until there is a LM that can match protee in speed at the 2k dollar price point i am out.

I know pricing has not been announced yet but am I right in thinking that currently in order to get the TGC sim software it has to be bought from pro tee, and is available on their site here:
https://www.swingsense.com/en/store/...golf-2-details for $1895 Is this what a GC2 user would have to purchase to get TGC for use with their GC2?
Is it therefore logical to think that it may well end up being similar pricing for the "Skytrak" version. I only ask as there seem to be a lot of people getting carried away with this sim capability and perhaps dont realise that their may be a fairly significant 3rd party cost havign already spent the $1500 on the skytrak unit, it may take another $1900 to get it sim ready.
Ive tried to read up on all forums but if Ive missed this being discussed elsewhere apologies

If they think enough people are going to plunk down an additional $2000 to add one feature to a system to make it profitable, then either they or I have a very screwed up understanding of the marketplace. I don't care how "big" a feature it is, it is ONE feature. That ONE feature is not worth more than the entire system was initially.
All I know is I will not be having simulation capabilities if the cost will be more than I paid for the entire system!

By no means was I stating fact about he $1895, just that as I understand it, if you wanted TGC for your GC2, thats what it would cost. I may well be wrong and this was more of a question than a statement of fact.
It was more just to highlight that if anyone was hoping this sim option would just be appearing with no/minimum additional cost, and pinning their hopes on it then, they may want to brace themselves.
As Im not in the know regarding all this I am unaware of Martin, and so the price I quoted was the one off the website. Im guessing Martin therefore is in a position at Protee to offer the lesser price.
As I say, just wanted to make sure that as the system now appears to be becoming more of a viable solution, that people werent pulling the trigger hoping that this software would end up suddenly appearing one day for very little cost.

I'm patiently waiting for WGC. No intention of paying another $1k for TGC plus another $1k for a suitable computer. Lottery winners may consider it. But for me it's the accuracy of the shot and ST already provides that. I care very little for courses or the rendering.

Courses and rendering are *VERY IMPORTANT* for me. I've played on a GC2 Sim and their courses/rendering are very poor compared to TGC - it's noticeable and it affects my play considerably, especially in the short game.
I have TGC running on my Windows Desktop computer (intel i7, 8GB RAM and GeoForce GTX 660 game card).. The advantages of having high-level rendering of trees/bushes/fairways/greens makes it very important that I run TGC over any other solution right now for Simulation. I also like the ability to build out my own local courses with the course designer so I can play them in the Winter.
That still doesn't mean I'm willing to plunk down $2,000 for TGC, as others have stated, there's no way that one feature should be valued at the price of the entire system, no even $995, but more in the $300-$400 range sounds more like it.

I doubt many will go thru the painstaking process of replicating their local course. Of those that do I can't see it being a close replica of the real thing. Whether u have 50k courses or 10 is neither here nor there. The quality of the graphics has NO bearing on the quality of my shot, I may misunderstand how it affects you considerably.
