Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

Is it normal at this point to not be able to enter access code into TGC app and only be able to launch game via the interface?Originally posted by ProTee United View PostThese settings are in TGC. Click SETTINGS from the main menu. There are no setting in any of the external interfaces (yet).

Protee, when I click on the TGC simulator icon, I get a main menu window and the settings section has a red X on it. But I can't do anything with it. I assume I'm missing some settings in there. Any thoughts on why I can't do anything with it? thx,

thx.........I found that to be the case......so I can just trash the other TGC shortcut as it's basically not needed, right?
-
ProTee United - when I follow the instructions and click play game on SkyTrak interface for TGC, I get the error that sdk server not started or something like that. The only way I have managed to play is, connect SkyTrak and then use the other TGC icon to start the game.

ForeLeft - send an email to our helpdesk to schedule a remote support session. They should be able to fix it quickly.

I seem to not get realistic readings using my 3 wood with Skytrak and TGC. Sometimes it reads ok, but many times I get inaccurate readings.
See screenshots of TGC Shot Analysis and Flightscope Analyzer showing correct ball data.
In TGC the distance was only 95 yards. It was in heavy rough but would think it should travel much further than 95 yards. Either TGC is penalizing me too much or it's not outputting the shot correctly with the numbers shown in Shot Analysis.
Flightscope Analyzer says it should be 189 Carry and 222 Total. But that is on a clean fairway shot obviously.
Sometimes I also get inaccurate readings when hitting my 3 wood from the fairway also.
Does anyone else have this problem with your 3 wood or 5 wood? My irons are accurate. Just seems to be these clubs.
Here's what TGC Shot Analysis shows if you can't see in screenshot:
Ball Speed: 128.10 MPH
Back Sping: 3070 RPM
Spin Axis: -7.4 degree
Launch Angle: 11 degree2 Photos

ProTee United Thanks for sending the correct Shot Analysis of the same shot. Yeah, maybe it hit an up slope hill. That would explain it. I'll keep an eye on results with my 3 wood.

I loaded the TGC software Friday and completed my screen/sim setup Saturday in my garage--I played PGA National Honda Classic, Pebble Beach (Protee) and sampled a few other courses including Magnolia KS 3-hole course. So far I have to say that TGC and Skytrak (ST) are fantastic together. Distances are spot on for me and chipping and putting have been spectacular---a few putts not picked up but other than that it seems to be dead on. I have had a few occasions where the ST unit for some reason lost its connection to the game (middle light turns red). Initially I shut down the whole game and restarted it by restarting the ST Interface software which would result in my having to wait for the whole game to reload. This wasn't too bad a process but annoying. This morning I realized that as long as the game was "windowed" I could minimize the game and reclick on the ST interface Icon to reconnect the ST without having to restart the whole game. This problem seemed to occur whether I was connecting via the network or directly via the USB connection. I have also had the unit freeze with the top light turning red and no laser dot but this was easily remedied by changing the club selection. All-in-all I am very pleased and I must say playing against ghost players makes the sim experience much more fun.
I do want to know if there are any executive courses or par 3 courses that are very easy to play. My wife just started plying golf in September and I would love to find courses she can play that will not frustrate her (or me for that matter as well haha). Also, it will seriously ease the tension that my addiction to playing TGC every chance I can has created--i.e., if she is playing also she will ease up a bit about spending all my time in the garage. All kidding aside I would also like to help her improve before the real golf season starts.
Last question --what is the best resolution to use to fill up most of my screen which is 120" (10ft) w x 108" (9ft) h? Thanks in advance for the help.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. All 92,000 courses are playable. No problem if you do not want or are unable to play anything over 6400 yards. Sure there are lots of courses with narrow fairways and challenges. There is enough to choose for every type of golfer! All I can say is have fun!
-
And yet all these courses in real life have more than just one tee box. It will add so much playability to all 92,000 courses if users have multiple options for how long a course they can play.
And shooting an 81 from 7300 needing fairway woods into par 4s is quite a feat.

Par is just a number that someone decided to put on the hole. The goal in golf is to get the ball in the hole in lowest possible strokes. And enjoy while doing it - hopefully
I would love to play some the courses at the yardages the the pros play. Don't mind shooting in the 90s or 100s for that matter.
Though I do agree having the option for multiple tees is definitely needed. When my son or daughter play, they are hitting their 3 woods multiple times to reach the greens on long par 5s. That does get boring after a while, especially for me who is just waiting around.

Here is a vid of me playing TPC Boston, practicing for the tournament this weekend.
TGC + Skytrak, for all the delays, bugs (real and imagined), when its dialed in and working its a ton of fun. I had 2 shots not register in the first 9 holes. Other than that, accuracy was great.

Here is more info on my setup: http://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum/...-impact-screen
Impact screen is from NetReturn..the one they sell that attaches to NetReturn Pro. 8 foot wide, 7.5 foot tall.
Mat is a country club elite 4x5 foot.
Hitting area is 6.5 feet from screen. Projector is 8 feet from screen which works great for 1280x1024 or 1600x1200 resolution. Fills the screen almost 100%.
TGC is running on a 2015 Macbook Pro with ATI m370x GPU. Its running in Windows 10 via bootcamp. I play 1600x1200 on medium settings. Runs fine.

How can I find out how much distance to the front and back edge of the green in TGC? Also is there a way I can get distances to hazard or any random location? Right now I get the distance to the pin and I am then just guessing how much to get to the front of the green.

Bubba22, that still only gives my some fixed points. It doesn't always give me front of the green or some spot where I want to carry the ball to. Also the distances always seem to be computed from the tee and not where my ball currently is. It will be cool to be able to just tap anywhere on the screen or move/drag my cursor and see distance to that point.
