.In a thread back in June 2021, a user named Nicholasbufano posted a link to a new Skytrak patent
Yes, as I mentioned in that thread, very very interesting. I wasn't sure about the relationship between Rapsodo and Skytrak at that time. The patents seem to describe a more advanced versions of MLM. But once Golftec bought Skytrak, the odds went up that there was a new Skytrak in the works.
But the device described in the patents is a down the line device. Skytrak+ is a side on. But it appears very likely that the new product uses something similar to that described in the patents. My hat's off to Nicholas.

Pre-Order 5/4/2023
SkyTrak has long been the leader in at-home golf.
The next evolution is a leap forward.
Dual Doppler Radar for club data measurement
The new Doppler Radar System delivers useful club data, including: Club Head Speed, Smash Factor, Club Path and Face Angle. Additionally, applying proprietary machine-learning algorithms that data delivers precision at a level matched only by the highest end launch monitors on the market.
Improved PhotometricCamera System for more accuracy
The improved camera system gives golfers highly accurate and reliable ball tracking data that can power a player’s practice and improvement. The camera system also provides for improved outdoor performance on mats. You can now work on your game at the range.

Love all the new products this year. This skytrak replacement seems like a winner. Has anyone here beta tested this thing?? Now that it's being released the NDA should be clear.
I was all but decided on a uneekor mini but this has changed things.

Over. $5k is my guessOriginally posted by Frankfam11 View Postcurious where people think the new skytrak will fall from a price point with what we know now being a radar based / photometric hybrid unit.
over/under $3500??

Yes radar might now be an issue in terms of space requirements. However it is using cameras and looks, from picture, like it still has the lasers to position balls. If still positioned to the side of the ball the Radar must be also working from there to pick up the: club Head Speed, Smash Factor, Club Path and Face Angle. Face angle, I think, could not be measured from the back with radar.
Hope they do not blow it with a higher price, when, in reality things should be getting cheaper as technology advances. If they go high they will be competing with more established professional units, some of these just recently released. Not to mention the cheaper recent units that have eaten into their current market. Note the mini eye had a great following when it was first previewed and that has died when the price came out too high as everyone thought it would be a home consumer unit. I think they are now completing against the mevo + ,the new MLM2PRO and this should be seen as an update to overcome that completion.
Hard to believe they are now saying pre orders tomorrow when there is no price. Hope this is not going to be a major disappointment like the mini eye again.Last edited by Wilson Campbell; 05-03-2023, 08:16 PM.

I agree with you on the release tomorrow. Hope there going to give everything to make and informed purchase. If Rapsodo is the tech behind this, and some people seem to think they are, then it may be ready. Price...I'm in agreement with the guess at $3500. Hope they give a decent trade in value and I'll be in.

The mini eye, when first shown, was stated as being a unit for the common golfer and hinted at being a consumer unit and not a professional unit. A game changer for normal golfers. Hence everyone got excited. After nearly 2 years when finally released it became a professional unit with allot of extra features for professional coaches. So yes the price for the mini does reflect what it does, but, what it does was not what was expected, it has bloated. Maybe that is why it took so long to actually bring to market, lots of new features were added and the target market was changed.

Essentially they are trying to show that their unit now gets super close to GCquad etc.
I presume the tilt axis number not being greater is that quad cams get more directional info than the new ST2 with dual and radar. They might compensate with face path data but it’s not quite the same as true 3D verification of the axis rotation.
Adjusted R-squared:
Adjusted R-squared tells us how well a set of predictor variables is able to explain the variation in the response variable, adjusted for the number of predictors in a model.
