  • SkyTrak PC - Beta

Ok guys, here it is. Before you go crazy installing, please take a moment to read through all the information below – it’s important. This is essentially the same release as iOS v2.0, so I’ll post those release notes at the bottom. As with the recent WGT Beta, please don’t contact SkyGolf support during this short beta period.

    PC NOTES
    • You’ll see in the release notes that the most critical addition here is license requirements. This means that certain features in the software will only be available if you have the Game Improvement Subscription Package. Let me explain how this works. Your SkyTrak unit becomes the “key” to unlock the features in the software. First you will need to make sure your unit is registered – if you haven’t yet, you can do this through the app in the Profile>ABOUT screen. Once registered, the unit will pull your subscription license down from the cloud and store it in the unit. So think of it this way…to get the license onto the unit, you’ll need to be connected to the unit and the internet at the same time, just as with device registration (my preference is via USB below…).
    • Every time you connect your unit, it will go through a ‘License Check” first. This is per the above.
    • The unit can now be connected to your PC via either Direct mode, Network Mode, or just by USB (quite a bit easier than network mode to have connection + internet!). To connect via USB, connect the USB cable to the unit and PC first, THEN turn the unit on.
    • During beta, we are working behind the scenes to allow for screen maximization and custom sizing, so for now I have limited the window to 1024x768 as I know many of you are using projectors. You can change your screen resolution if you want it to fill the whole screen, but this will be a short beta period and I just want to get it in your hands. Just understand that window sizing is coming.
    • This is a straight copy of the iOS app, so think of using your mouse like you would your finger (ie to scroll down in the session history, click and drag up). We’ll be adding more PC-intuitive controls.
    • When you first connect your unit to this app, the unit will be upgraded to the new 1.35 firmware. You will see the unit reboot itself.
    • The download is a zip file. Extract it and just run SkyTrak.exe from the unzipped folder for now.
    • Again, don’t contact SkyGolf customer support during beta. Let me help you, and you’re pretty darn good at helping each other too.

Yep. Can't really give a time frame though with so much going on now.

I'm sure that same answer applies to the question about android, right ? :-)

I can confirm that it works a treat here with a projector and Windows 8.1. Alas my golf swing didn't get a firmware upgrade.
All distances and shot shapes seemed normal to me.

SkyTrak_Seth From what I've read here, I haven't wasted my time with customer support. We all seem to look at you as our primary contact.

That's perhaps a little unfair. I know people have had issues, but you should try. I did the other day and everything was sorted within 5 mins. Hope you get it sorted.

Yeah, I would certainly give it a try. Things definitely started out shaky but have improved leaps and bounds as they've learned the product. I'd prefer to remain the 'last ditch effort guy' opposed to the 'go to guy', simply because the latter isn't going to lend itself to any improvement. Plus, I can't always get to my messages/posts on the forum and back to you in a respectable time. Please let me know if you can't get anywhere.

You are a massive tease! You're the flirty girl at work and I'm the dupe trying to clamour his way out of the friend zone.

I had the same problem, before launching anything do a reset on your Skytrak, paper clip pin on the bottom in the hole for 3 secs. All the lights will flash and the unit will reset. Then try it and it should work, mine was still looking for a network connection until I did that. This was posted somewhere else also.

He was in Alignment Mode.........Don't reset your unit, go through the settings if you have both lasers on (2 red dots on hitting surface).

Downloaded and tried the PC Software tonight. Very impressed I had no problems at all. Software is running on windows vista laptop in Network Mode using a projector. Delays with this old laptop were a couple secs longer than iphone 6 but not to bad. Great job Seth.

This question is for Windows 10 users:

Are you connecting via Network Mode or USB? My Windows 7 laptop will connect via USB no problem. Although, no such luck with Windows 10. I haven't played with network mode for Windows 10 as ios is fine for me using lightning-HDMI gets a nice picture on the screen.

I'm not banging my head to much here, but would like to know if anyone has gotten Windows 10 to connect to Skytrak via USB. Cheers

I can only connect via WIFI, the device is detected as RASPODO Personal Launch Monitor but detects no driver. Windowsv7 x64.
                Where is the driver?

Took mine a while (several minutes), but found the driver via Windows Update driver search; I'm also on Win 7 64

Thanks, I noticed the skytrak would power off before the search had finished thus aborting the search. I'll try again.

OK so I tried again, the windows search completed, finding no driver and then the ST turned off.

So, I might have spoken too soon...

The driver search was (apparently) successful, it loaded a MS Winusb driver and said device ready to use.

However, the unit doesn't seem to connect via USB, in fact, unless I'm missing something, it doesn't even seem to show that as an option in the device connections screen. I just see Direct Mode and Network Mode there
, like in the iPad app.Should I expect to see a USB option, do I go into Direct Mode??

Any chance someone who has this working via USB on Win 7 (pref x64) could post a couple of screenshots of the device in Device Manager, the device driver details, and what the connection screen shows?

Also looks like I need to get the GIP registered to the device, but I can do that tonight UK time when I get back home.

                    Thanks.
