I am glad SkyTrak changed their tune, as I was 12 hours away from shipping my unit back. I really like my SkyTrak, as it gave me something I never thought I could afford (a really good launch monitor), with the added bonus of a simulator. The only other product out there I like is the GC2, but there is no way I could afford a GC2. The base model is like buying 3 SkyTraks, and the one I would really like (the Quad) is like buying 8 SkyTraks!

I am really liking what the SkyTrak is doing for my game. Hitting into a net can get boring, and bad habits can creep in when you cannot see the flight of your ball. It has allowed me to experiment with changing my grip, without going through all those bad shots on the course. As others have said in other threads, if you take the time to tweak how your SkyTrak is set up, along with tweaking everything else, you'll have more positive experiences with your SkyTrak and less frustration.

I have heard from some really good golfers on this forum and they all seem to credit their success to the amount of practice they put it. I feel that using the SkyTrak motivates me to go out and hit balls knowing the amount of feedback I receive on each shot. I'm actually getting to the point that I can tell what my ball is going to do after hitting it before I see it on the display.

Im an early adopter. Used the ST for about a month then ive stopped golfing . I use to own a flightscope, p3pro, and two accusport vectors. I sold those and got the ST because it seemed like a sweet spot LM, promised comparable numbers, and were working on the pc and android apps. I was tired of waiting for the android app that never came and shelved the unit. Fast forward a few years ive decided to start golfing again and see whats going on with the ST. Seems like not much has changed unfortunately. I bought the ST only for its driving range only. Its very unfortunate they are now charging for the very basic driving range features which should be free. I dont think its good business practice for them to sell you something only to charge after the fact. There has to be some law they are breaking. At the very least, they are providing a negative association to the brand. Comparing to flightscope and accusport offerings, their driving range/ball analysis was excellent and free. The vector LM had quirks but the analysis was so well thought out and functional. I can compare equipment and fine tune my distances, groupings, shot shapes, print them out and be a nerd. When i first used the ST, it was pretty good, the driving range was decent and i had high hopes on improvements because they had the experience from accusport. Coming back after 2yrs to see that theyre charging a fee makes me feel exploited and scammed. The only fee that was ever discussed was for the simulator pkgs. The hardware is good, i can feel "management" leaving all their greasy fingers all over the brand. I sure hope they turn this thing around. Skygolf has brought us some pretty cool stuff but always lacked in execution and always left you feeling that they are greedy. Hard to keep a loyal following that way.

I got ST a couple weeks ago and had no problem connecting to my computer using wi-fi or usb.
I I started out practicing with my irons and found the distance was close to my real life distance. I hit my 5 iron 150+ yards. When I went to use my driver which normally goes 190+ yards I was only getting 150 yds with my best swing. Trying the Egolf demo I was getting 180+ yds which I didn't mind. I'm considering on sending it back but I do like the idea of a ball reader. I've used the optishot for 4 yrs (it's a fun game but that is all) in the same garage that I'm using this in so it's not swinging inside causing me problems. Playing with JNPG it is terrible. I should try WGT but I hear the same thing there.

Take it to the range and hit driver. Laser a target to confirm distance and if it reads short then send it back. If not you've got something else going on.

Hi, is there anyway you can review your golf shots later from the saved data, like the protracer.. so you see the shot shape etc and not just the numerical data?

You can use Shot Plotting, select which shots you wish to see and then select shot plotting and it gives a side on and over head view of your selected shots.

Thanks Kerrhughes, yeah I know but wondered if there was a way or another program that from the data it would show the shot like it does after you have hit it with the tracer trail of the ball direction, height etc?

3 Weeks of Launch Monitor Mania! I am already improving my accuracy big league. The only weird thing is my best 15 degree 3 wood goes 220...I "used" to hit it 240 in real life...21 degree 4 iron goes 200, which is accurate. 18 degree 5 wood now 205, used to be 225...Could be me I guess. Anyhow, loving it for my irons and wedges and seeing hard draws and baby draws...

              Have not hit 3hybrid.

I am kinda addicted to it and so far am very happy just being a range rat.

One other Q: is the swing speed and/or ball speed actually a gimmick or is it accurate?

Ball speed is accurate, swing speed is just an estimate based off it you hit the ball with a perfect smash factor.

PS: I appreciate you putting the degrees in front of the clubs, never see that when people say how for they hit a 4 iron or whatever, and it obviously entirely depends on just that. Golf should just stop calling them a single number irons anymore and just call them by degrees with how crazy some clubs are bent nowadays. That'll never catch on though haha. And my distances seemed to come back the more I used the skytrak and the mat I have, Im guessing yours will too hopefully

Totally agree. Numbers on irons are no longer meaningful and, without the loft angles, it makes it difficult for golfers to buy appropriate gap wedges to complement their iron set without having to look up the individual lofts for their set online (and these days with how short the product cycles are, specs of some of the older irons are no longer on manufacturer's websites).

Agree as well, as with shaft length. I have older ping Hybrids and was shown how the newer hybrids were hitting it farther by a ping rep.
It was, but it was 2 degrees stronger an an inch longer

Yeah these days with the lower lofts on all clubs, you really have to look up lofts of all your clubs before deciding on clubs you want buy to fill gaps. For example, I had a 3 hybrid as gap between my 3 wood and 5 iron - turns out the 4 hybrid was the better choice to fill this gap. Of course I later bought the 4 hybrid and now have an extra 3 hybrid that I don't need.

Yeah, love this too. The manufacturers have worked so hard at making sure pros have no usuable clubs above a 9 iron on most par 4's, that we need 5 definitions of wedges these days. For reference my 4i is 27 degrees, 38", which is 3-6 degrees weaker, and 1/2" to an inch shorter than a lot of modern irons. And I'm guessing DJ hits a 4i 250y too. To be honest, it's the only thing he could hit off the tee to avoid needing to decide which of five wedges his approach shot needs to be accurate.

So we got a skytrack 2 days ago. Still havent been able to get it to pick up a single drive out of 100 from sever different hights, and sometimes the clubhead speed says its faster than the ball speed which is impossible, and i am consistently hitting my 6 iron and up 20 to 30 yards further and my 5 iron and lower 30 to 50 yards less. Spin numbers are all over the place ill have 1 shot at 2000 rpms and the next at 8000. I tried calling skytrack support and after 36 minutes on hold the lady tells me to take pictures of oir set up and send them in and someone will get back to me. Instead of be able to talk to a person to help me. Purchased skytrack because it was supposed to be accurate, have better support, and easier to switch between left and right handed golfers. We have it in the protective case. Have the unit level and about 12 inches from the ball in a closed hitting bay we built. Some shots it seems 100% accurate and the next its off by 40 yards or says a ball with a 70mph clubhead swing went 20 yards further than 1 with a 90 mile an hour swing or ill get a swing speed of 110 and a ball speed of 107 and my 7 iron will go 220. Its my 160 to 170 club on a good day. Im a scratch golfer and if you put me on a gc2 i dont have any of these issues and am in tune with my swing enough to be more acurate than the skytrack. I did a million reviews and know there has to ve sonething wrong in the setup and very disapointed we cant get anything to read if on a tee rubber or wood. But so disapointed with there support im debating returning it bucking up and buying a gc quad. Ive heard of people being short on distances but never the issues were experiencing from both a left and right handed golfer

First - support for skytrak is NOT that great. They try - but not so great. Seth and one other dude are on here and give great info and offer to help but as far as red carpet service - skytrak is not it. Now, for your issues. Can you post some pics of your setup, the equipment you are using, router, wifi signal in the room, etc.

Knock on wood my sktrak has been great and is very accurate. The only time I see it not pick up shots are from very bad shots...meaning shots way left or right or drives hit miles in the air. Of course, these are my friends shots..not mine..hehehe

Shawn1218 , sorry you are having trouble. It sounds like it's probably something simple we are missing. What you describe sounds like it's mis-marking the golf ball (incorrectly reading the spin). This can be caused by a number of factors, but try to use a clean white golf ball and face a black logo or line toward the unit prior to hitting. If you have a white-headed driver, try to put the ball an inch or so behind (direction of back in your stance) the red laser dot. This will keep the white club head, or a white rubber tee, out of the picture. If you still have trouble, I'd encourage you to make a dedicated post about it. That way, the community and I can help you out, and hopefully help others down the road.

As a newbie forgive me but i opened a new topic when i probably shouldve posted this here. I also dont know if as the person who makes an original post can delete or close a topic or not so i cant close the other one. So i will put my suggestions here below.

Is there any way that through the computer app when looking at shot history the program could be updated to 1. Allow for the shot history up and down arrows to be able to hold down on the mouse and the shots scroll to the top or bottom? Also (and thats just a suggestion its a hassle but isnt terrible the second one i would rather prefer to have quicker than the first) 2. Would be the program for whatever when you delete a shot scrolls all the way back to the top. Is there any way that could be fixed to stay fixed where you are? If you are scrolling through tons of shots and you have already looked at some from the top down scrolling all the way down (which takes me back to my first suggestion) continually clicking through 50, 100 or 150+ shots is a hassle just to have to be taken back to the top to delete a mishit or a terrible shot or something of that nature. If those could be addressed that would be greatly appreciative!

Just got my skytrak last week. One thank goodness for the fathers day sale...two Thank you for all you guys are doing loving the unit so far, other than some PC/iOS/Android App crashes and having to reconnect everything all has been great with the unit and im loving it and thoroughly impressed! Thanks!!!

I've had my Skytrak for a month and at first I was having some buyers remorse with ALL the money I spent on a new computer, skytrak, Country Club Elite mat, projector, and the little extras to turn my spare bedroom into GOLF CENTRAL!! The crappy mat I started off with started causing an old elbow injury to flare up and my distances were way off (short).
After I spent some time researching on this forum what others had gone through and how they rectified their situations, I followed suit and now my skytrak has solidified itself in my Golf Man Cave. Everything i do on the course happens on my skytrak.

It took me a while to admit it was more me than the skytrak

Still hurts a little to have to say it!

I am damn sure skytrak had some issues in the past...and when your the one dealing with the problem they can't get to ya fast enough...especially considering how addictive this thing can be...but it does seem like Seth and um "The Other Skytrak Dude" (sorry man) do put their best foot forward with resolving issues.

Deer season only lasts so long and then it's time to find something else to occupy my time. I am finally looking forward to a winter...and my wife is too cause she gets tired of walking on egg shells around me when I'm stuck in the house for too long at a time and nothing to do.

As an 8 handicap I am sick and tired of being a "B" player at the local men's league...I am ready to move on up to "A" player status and kick some young smart-elic ass! Inconsistency has always been my downfall on that venture and I am already seeing improvement in that area and feeling confident it's gonna happen by the start of next season.

Skytrak seriously; your always gonna have someone trying to detract from the efforts you've put into your product no matter what you do or how you sale it...but PLEASE don't stop improving upon it!! I've spent too much time and money already for your product to slowly become obsolete!!

Great to hear. I too just want to see some consistent striking, and like you feel like it is happening thanks to this great training tool. It's the combination of range and courses that really wins me over though. You can feel a million $s on the range, but then go hit a few holes and find your drive goes to mush again when the pressure of a good start to the hole lurks. Or your chipping is letting you down on the scorecard. Being able to practice either from your spare room is a big winner. And without any pressures of players behind you, or people watching your experiments on the range. For example, my short game practice is whack the ball a couple of times to somewhere near the green, then turn it on auto rewind for a few shots. Then put it somewhere on the green, auto-rewind for a couple more. And if you want to hit that shot 10 times, nobody is stopping you.
