so some comments.
1. I have a dual band, both 2.4 and 5. Both my iPad and the skytrak are on 2.4.
2. Went over to my brothers house....all connected fine to his 2.4. So I’m feeling it’s something in my router / network.
3. I’m on a netgear router with the newer wifi 6 system....not sure that matters, but would mention it.

Only had mine for a few days now and so far I like it. Distances seem to be very close to what my arccos caddie system had last year. A lot of my hits go left quite a bit so I don’t know if I have an alignment issue or just hitting everything left. My ball does tend to go left, but not by 30+ yards. Need to hit some outside to compare the results to be certain.

Played 18 today and my ball did go to the left quite a bit. Very happy with what skytrak is showing. Now I just need to make some corrections to keep the ball on line when I play.😞

I’ve had the Skytrak for roughly a month now and I am loving it. Shouldn’t have waited so long to get it. I think the Skytrak range is fantastic. I went ahead and purchase TGC 2019 also. One question I have is there is more of a shot delay with TGC compared to the Skytrak range. About 1.5 to 2 more seconds. Is this normal? This is with it connected in network mode on a PC. I admittedly haven’t used TGC much yet but the 1st round I played it quit reading after about 9 holes. Then yesterday it wouldn’t read anything but chip shots. I closed it and saw my PC was wanting me to sign in to Microsoft. I closed that and restarted TGC and all worked well. So maybe the other program was causing the issue. Still had a 4.5 to 5 second delay as opposed to about 3 seconds with the Skytrak app.

Biggest drawbacks.
1. Yardage not accurate
2. Yearly fee for basic driving range stuff that should have been included in the cost of the unit

I don't believe there is a fee for basic driving range. To play 3rd party sim games you need the next step up which is $99/year. But basic SkyTrak range doesn't require the yearly fee. Unless they've changed something.

Skytrak was the same price 5 years ago. Pre-orders were actually $500 off.

The unit works fine. After 3 years of practice it has gotten me from 10 handicap to a solid 5. Great for wedges irons, hybrids and woods. Total waste of time with putting and it’s ok with driver.
As far as software. WGT is not worth anything. And the rest are 300 to 500 yearly. Not like an xbox or PlayStation where you buy the software and you own it. Total greed.
The range practice is ok. But again with a 100 dollar a year commitment for anything interesting in the enhanced training on the range. They do force you to have to reregister every year even for free range services. Not sure for what. But you never quite get the feeling that you outright Own the device without a commitment of some sort.
So overall it’s good enough for the money. If I found something that gave me a flight and just a few golf course options for a relative price without the gottchas on registrations I would look elsewhere.
Sorry Skytrak but I would give this product a C for overall product. Too much after expense commitments.

Oh and save yourself the money on the impact case. If you hit the device with a golf ball it’s toast. Regardless of what case it’s in. So far I have been ok with my strikes and never hit the unit.

I have to disagree with your comment on the case, I've had a number of ppl use mine with varying handicaps and the metal case has been hit with a ball at force a number of times. The unit still works fine but I'm certain it wouldn't if not for the case.

Not super impressed with the general experience. Lots of no reads, lots of misreads. The fact that there's no spin decay makes it frustrating for directional control. A slight draw with a 9 iron (I'm an x tour pro) can read 33 yards left?!?! LOL! I've had mine for a week and all I can think is that I should've just waited for the GC2. The interaction with tgc2019 has been the most frustrating! Not intuitive at all. The graphics are great but that's about it. Using skytrak for short game is a complete waste of time. The skytrak is a decent unit if all you want to do is hit balls with wedges and irons up to 185 yards. Beyond that it's been a bad experience. . Not realistic. And forget about shots with high swing speeds. I swing at my friends indoor studio where he has both trackman 4 and GCquad and the difference is so far beyond night and day. I swing at 112 which gives me very consistent 165 ball speeds. The skytrak will not read a single shot above 154 MPH.
On the plus side, for $2000 it's better than just hitting into a net. But not much... It reads launch and spin pretty well if you point the balls logo at the unit. But again, only up to about 185.

Or maybe I'm doing it all wrong. But I did research it for a couple of weeks. Did everything that was mentioned on these forums to make it read as well as possible. Leveling, lighting, correct mat, marking stripes on the ball and aiming logo at matching, etc. Still too frustrating to recommend. I would give the skytrak a 9.5 for price and a 3-4 for user experience.

I think its a little early to write a comment after 1 weeks ownership.

Write another one after 6 months ownership, get reading, don't use anything white like tees, drivers, shoes, background.

You've probably got indoor swing issues as well.

Good luck, and if skytraks not for you, sell it and get something else, you won't loose any cash.

I’ve had it for 3 weeks and zero misreads and picks up my 5 yard chips. Sounds like alignment is wrong, makes a huge difference with results

Your experience is definitely not the norm. I've had one for about 9 months now and and have found the short game to be phenomenal. I can hit soft chips that only go 2 yards and it reads them every single time. Putting is the same. I can roll putts that literally just barely roll off my hitting mat and they read every time. It's probably the area where I think Skytrak has the biggest advantage over radar units. On full swings I get maybe 1 or 2 no-reads out of 20 shots. Yardages are spot on to real life. I would have to chalk up your findings to user error and set up issues. Also, I've had my long hitting friend over a couple times and he has zero issues with reads on balls speeds of 170+. We've played TGC together and he bombs 300 yard carries all round. Your claim that it won't read a shot above 154 is just utterly false.

I was a Skytrak user. I actually had two units...one I purchased and then one given to me as a gift a year later by wifey who was unaware I already had one. I used both units.

I enjoyed using it as a warmup, practice tool hitting into a net and looking at my results on an iPad. I was hitting in my basement and had some ceiling height restrictions so I was doing 3/4 swings for the most part. I found that the carry distances and shot shapes were consistent with what I would see in real life. The Skytrak app and driving range is really good and the session history and exporting it out of the system was super easy. When I used the units in this capacity I found them to be quite sufficient. The shot delay was not an issue as I was hitting into a net and then looking at an iPad.

I then moved to to different house and had a garage space with 12 ft ceilings and the capacity to set up sim golf with projector, impact screen, etc. This is where I was unsuccessful getting the most of Skytrak. I had network connectivity issues with both units which I attributed to my WIFI reaching garage. I also struggled with "no reads" during sim golf which made play frustrating at times. Despite my efforts to align, and level the units, and follow various recommendations of where to place the ball relative to the laser dot I was unsuccessful in achieving consistent performance. I know that many users in this forum have had great success with Skytrak so I chalk my struggles to me and my inability to consistently factor in the multiple environmental and setup variables. I still think it is good device but does require environmental considerations to get the most of it.

I ended up moving to Uneekor QED which so far seems to be better fit for me.

Skytrak user for around 4ish years now. Accuracy-wise skytrack is top notch. I've put it up against both GC Hawk and Trackman 4 and received almost identical numbers. I feel like that speaks for itself, a machine costing 1/10th of the price producing numbers with that much accuracy. All of the ball data was spot-on when it came to launch, spin, azimuth, carry etc. Only statistic that is slighly off for me personally is anytime the ball speed gets over 150. At higher speeds it seems the skytrak reads slightly slower than trackman, but not by a significant amount (my best guess would be 2 to 5 mph). All in all the accuracy of the skytrak is excellent.

My only main complaint about the skytrak is how finicky it can be. You really have to be careful and make sure the ball location is exact, with a very clean logo, and perfectly parallel/level. On a few occasions it has taken me a few days to figure out what was causing large percentages of misreads, but once these are resolved it goes back to working on 99+ percent of shots. Also perspective buyers should know that it does not read club data (club head speed is calculated but not actually read by the machine) Besides these minor issues the skytrak is a great unit for the cost, with great accuracy. Especially good for practicing in the winter months.

I was wondering if Skytrak could come out with a variant on the target practice game with multiple targets/flags to aim for with varying scores (further away more points for example) or a closest to the pin with mutliple targets. For example, i want to challenge my son to most accurate driver. He only hits his driver about 110yds while i hit mine out to 200 yds. If there could be two target flags - one for him and one for me at varying distances, it would be fun.

I’d love to see the ability in the practice area to be able to elevate or lower greens. Certainly the courses I play I’m always adjusting for my approach shots, it would be nice to be able to practice this. Add the randomizer, even better!!

I love everything about the Skytrak. Value. Data.
I can't stand when it misses shots. It happens 5 or 6 times per round. I am careful to place the ball in the correct spot, I am very careful as to how the logo is facing the machine, but it still misses shots. However, it seems to upgrade to a better machine is way above my budget today.

5-6 is high. I get 1-2 per 18 holes, which is what you should expect with no interference. And on occasion I'll play an entire round without a single no-read.
