ProTee United and SkyTrak_Seth - Just noticed something tonight on short chip shots using TGC. Not sure what the exact yardage point it starts doing this from, but it seems to be in the ballpark of 15 yards (or maybe less or more) and closer that I continually get exactly 1000 rpm backspin on the shot no matter what club i use or how hard i hit it. Ive switched between putting and normal mode, tried even adjusting shot type (which i know doesnt make a difference). Im up to date on all firmware, software and versions of everything. It did this same thing whether I was on wifi or usb.
Posted a video here showing me hitting the same chip 3 or 4 times and getting exactly 1000 spin every time (dont think im that consistent haha). And did this same test probably another 50 times or so on other holes at similar distances and in the fringe, light or heavy rough. This continued to occur even after factory resetting the skytrak and reinstalling the app and TGC interface.
Never really checked this issue that close until now. While im pretty sure from this distance 1000 backspin is relatively close to what it should be spin wise...... why is it exactly 1000 everytime? That doesnt seem like it should happen.
I would like to add that I do get great back spin numbers from lets say 20+ yards out and they are very accurate in the 3000 to 5000 area. So no issues with the skytrak reading there.
Also noticed when I get to this close to the green it wouldnt read the shot at all if I took a full swing with the wedge, almost like it locked me it hitting some sort of chip or pitch (and tried this is normal and putting modes). So wondering if all this is just a limitation of the skytrak and it was programmed to put a base 1000rpm for these really short shots to make sure it would read every time? If so i understand because TGC does seem to read short chips better than the other skytrak sim options weve seen. If not, what do you think may be the issue im having?
Anyone else notice this? If you havent looked before just take a peak at the spin numbers next time you think the ball may have rolled a little too far of your next short chip and see what the backspin number is, would be curious to see if others have this too. If so, it would be a clever way to make sure chips read, where it gives a base backspin (which is about average for a decently struck shot of that distance) and just accounted for the ball speed after that to determine how far it goes. Just want to figure out why it happens. Thanks
PS: I did go into the skytrak app after seeing this and hit some 7 to 10 yard chips and they were all close to 1000rpm but were never exactly, it varied from 800 to 1200+ area as I would think it would based on how I hit it, so dont think my skytrak is messed up there.

That's why I was thinking a user-selectable chipping mode would be a neat thing to have from the ST side of things. It would basically be just like putting mode, except it would also read and report backspin.
