Not quite, the 980ti consumes a lot more power than the 970. A 750 watt supply should be fine though.

But more to the point, why are you thinking upgrade is needed for other software Cbear? If the 970 runs TGC fine then it will run other golf simulation software fine since TGC is the most demanding of all.

I agree upgrade not needed for TGC in HD or WUXGA but 980 Ti is needed to have a 3840 x 2160 resolution image output from 4K projector, whether TGC or other sim software.

i7 6700k and Nividia GTX 970 is plenty. You should not have a problem with TGC at all. PG and E6 run with a lot less than that. So your golden

Only issue seems to be lack of wifi connectivity. I can get decent price on this setup but will have no hard wired access in sim room. Easy swap to a wireless card i would imagine. Thanks

Look into powerline adapter, mine is made by netgear no need for wifi card it runs thru 110v receptacle.

Looks like TGC is not to far out for skytrak , I've found this computer that I've been looking at buying to run it, is there any reason this wouldn't do a job running TGC I would like it to run it smooth.

Any thoughts would be appreciated cheers

I would encourage everyone in this thread to consider building yourself a PC. The specs on some of the pre-made machines being posted here are huge when the reality is the TGC bottleneck is the graphics card.

You can build a stellar machine with a GTX 970 for under $1,000 -- some of the pre-mades being posted are likely $2,000+ from a retailer.

If you don't want to mess with building one, HP still has a good sale going. You can get an i7 with a GTX 970 for under $900. I just ordered one with a GTX 980 Ti for under $1200. And ebates has 8% cash back too!

I'm sure TGC would play fine with those specs. You may have to lower some graphic settings but think you will be ok. I recommend purchasing TGC on Steam for 20/30 bucks and test it out on your PC. This will tell you 100% if it works or not.

I'm using that same graphics card and think i am running at medium settings on the TGC skytrak interface when it comes up. It runs perfectly fine, no lag and image looks good to me. Here are my specs.

The website I have done the build on suggests I can use a lower power (450), I'm guessing this is because the 1080 uses less?

I wouldn't try to "nickel and dime" (be cheap) this thing to squeeze out a few more pennies... Go with the specs that you have. How much are you going to save with a smaller power supply?
Pay the money and get a computer with better specs - the one you have shown in your list.
