A note for anyone wanting one of these. I had a similar one from Amazon as my original hitting mat back in 2015… but it was full size as a stance mat with 3 tiers of grass. Great idea in principle… but no use with a camera based launch monitor - as they require the ball to be placed within a certain area. My GC2 only has a hitting area of around 1ft square, which meant this didn’t really work.

Appreciate the GCQ / GC3 have a bigger hitting area, and a lot of people are now using ceiling based systems. Radar units like Trackman and Flightscope would be fine too.

I believe this will also work fine for my Garmin Approach R10 as it has a 2'x2' hitting area. I've seen the larger mat with 3 hitting areas (called a Tri-turf), this one:

What I wonder is with this Wittek, it seems not quite as 'deep rough' on the far side as that seems to be able to 'hold a tee', but that type of 'thick turf', is usually nothing at all like deep rough, as in these other mats? Wittek Golf - have you ever considered that, adding a fourth turf type, or letting the tee able area be the 'fairway turf', maybe provide a 'tee hole', or 2 or 3 along the strip? I could see something like a Fiberbuilt built in 'forever tee', would work well in there?

Brett, we appreciate your feedback. We are going to keep adding to our Golf Mat line and hope to add a mat in the future that has more of the features you are looking for. If you are looking to simulate a deep to semi deep rough it would be best to hit off of the middle turf. The flexible real grass feel of the middle turf allows the ball to dig down deep. I've had the GungHo HG for a couple months now and I have wrist pain. I know others have had no issue with it and love it. So YMMV

A lot depends on your swing path and your normal turf interaction. If you are a digger, you may be disappointed with almost any mat. From my point of view, while there are pros and cons to all mats - I have never heard anyone say they have had an injury as a result of using the FB Grass series - and very few who have left FB to go to another mat though there have been a few.

Injury prevention was the single biggest factor in my choice and I am very happy with the results. Yes, there may be more realistic options - only you can decide what is most important to you. Lots of good discussion regarding mats and injuries over the past few years. Strongly recommend you read through a search and digest the differing points of view. Good luck.

Really pleased with Gung Ho HG strip. Almost a year now and no pain whatsoever. FB is also very good (I have it as well). I prefer the feel of the HG as it feels more like hitting off the fairway whereas the FB to me feels more like hitting out off the first cut...the ball sits up slightly.

3 years and still going strong! I'm still on the original section I started on which leaves me three others that have not been hit off of. This mat will be around for many years to come.

And no, it's not squishy from breaking down as far as I can tell.

Hope others are as happy as I am with the Quattro or similar mats.

After one off season of using the Quattro, I don't like the impressions where me feet go. The hitting area is in great shape, but there is a depression where I stand. I'm ~190 lb so not exactly huge. I have since upgrade to using the holy grail hitting strip which is my favorite so far. I still use the Quattro as my stance mat due to budget.

1. Anyone compared the 3D to the Quattro side by side? Are they the exact same mat? I see some 3D owners have an aesthetic wear mark. Does the Quattro get one too?

2. I currently the Champion Mat (Bullseye hitting strip). Anyone use both the Quattro and that mat? If so, how do they compare? I am happy with the champion, but somehow missed the Quattro when I was doing my initial search and am curious if I should try it or make the switch… Literally, dam forums!
