What are the pros/cons of a 30" strip vs. 35" or longer? I'm finally in my house and starting to get things set up. I'm planning to put the batting cage turf in the area as the stance, landing, etc. and then cut in the Holy Grail for the hitting spot.Last edited by Leo Spaceman; 10-26-2021, 02:26 AM.

30" is plenty long. The only reason we offer longer versions is to make it easier for Fiberbuilt strip users to switch out. The performance of the 30" mat is exactly the same as the longer versions.Originally posted by Leo Spaceman View PostWhat are the pros/cons of a 30" strip vs. 35" or longer? You can use any surface-based tee, like Birtees, Tomahawk Tees, or regular rubber driving range tees sitting on top. Alternatively, you can drill a 5/8" hole through the Holy Grail strip and stick a rubber tee up through the hole from the bottom - we like the ones that will also hold a regular tee in them - and that works well, too.Originally posted by Noob20 View PostGungHoGolf What do you use for tees on the HG hitting strip?
The description in this video goes into more detail on that option: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yRtXpvXWVc- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

The website talks about 1" sublayer, but does that mean the height of the entire holy grail insert is 1" plus the money putt turf or is the whole thing 1" tall? In plain terms, what's the total height of the holy grail insert? Thinking through some unique options, but can't find that spec listed anywhere on the website. Thanks!

Post 27.1 GungHoGolf says it's 1.5". A 1" sublayer plus the money putt turf at 3/8" - 1/2". Hope that helps

I've been using a Holy grail strip for a couple weeks now. It's very nice. You can still feel your mishits but doesn't get in the way like a CCE mat. I wont miss my fiberbuilt mat, it just gave no feedback at all. I can't see the Holy grail mat causing any sort of injury issues. I would say it could even be a bit more firm without issue, but as is its a nice middle ground between the two mats I've tried.

FWIW, we have a local client who is trading in his Fiberbuilt strip for a Holy Grail, says he has developed golfer's elbow with the former. First time I've heard of that. He's a mid-50s scratch golfer with dime-size wear spots on his blades, so probably does hit down on the ball a good bit. Even Fiberbuilt can get a little grabby with the clubhead and decelerate it if a deep divot is taken.- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

I've had the Holy Grail for over a month now. I've played about 6 rounds on it and I've very pleased. I had used the real-tee mat previously. It was nice, but always had that cringe feeling when hitting a long iron or 3 wood off the deck. Now, they cut right through it and feels pretty real. I had two of the real-tee golf mats, so I cut a hole in one of them. Just make sure you cut it wide enough so the Holy Grail doesn't stick to the side walls and not pop back up. I was patient and trimmed a little at a time to make sure I got it right. My league will be kicking off in about 2-3 weeks. Anxious to see my 20 or so friends' reactions on it compared to that of last year. I do know I had several friends that struggled on the real-tee mat. They have steeper swings. We shall see what they all say.

I've got a quattro mat and I'm finding that it's killing my hands. I normally hit about 5-6 deg down and it's really punishing me. I'm either going to cut it and try to DIY something similar or just buy a Holy Grail insert. However - this post here says it's 1 1/2" thick and this post here says it's 1 3/8" thick. The quattro is 1 1/4" thick so obviously I'm hoping that the 1 3/8" is the accurate number. Can Ron or anyone else confirm how thick it actually is? Thanks!

I just installed a holy grail in that mat and it went well. The Quattro is about 1/8 higher then the holy grail. My Quattro sits on grizzly grass from lowes and when I cut out the section on the mat I also cut the turf and it lines up perfect. On a side note it will be so worth the effort to add the holy grail. It is so much nicer to hit off of compared to the Quattro. I was getting rib, elbow, and wrist pain using the Quattro.Originally posted by TD22057 View PostI've got a quattro mat and I'm finding that it's killing my hands.
