GC2 GSX & ProTee Inteface Setup for TGC and ProTee 2.0

Follow the steps below and in the next few post to initially connect your GC2 to GSX to ProTee Interface. Enjoy!

1: Connect your Bluetooth adapter to your pc's USB port using a USB extension cable. Run the cable into the sim room where the adapter will be as close to the GC2 as possible or within 6 ft of the GC2. After that, install the Bluetooth adapter driver that came in the package.

2: Turn on the GC2. From the right bottom corner of the Taskbar, click the up arrow to show all hidden icons. Select the Bluetooth icon and select Add Devices. See the screen shots below.






3: If your GC2 does not pair up automatically, click your GC2 device and select Pair. Then enter 0000 and click Next.

Hey Guys. I'm not sure if this is the correct spot to post this, but I'm having trouble playing TGC2019 with my GC2. It's been over a year since I played it. I'm able to connect my GC2 to GSX and all of the shot stats show up in it as well as in the Protee Interface, but when I go to TGC2019 and try to hit a shot nothing happens in the game. It worked about a year ago, but my kids could have changed a setting as they were trying to get it going the other day. I'm hoping that it's a simple setting, but I can't finding any settings in TGC2019 that look like they need to be changed. Any thoughts or ideas? I'm stumped.

If the phone can connect then it has to be the Bluetooth dongle. I have another interface if you want to connect using USB.

I'm just wondering I'm seeing the adjustments people with GC2's are making with the GSX interface I'm assuming you worked that into your version somehow? Any adjustments needed in TGC on your setup to get the carry distances to match? My GC2 carry is so spot on to real life it's kinda crazy so I'd like to get TGC to match that as closely as possible. After waiting for my key and making numerous dumb mistakes including not having enough space on my hard drive for tgc, freaking out cause the download kept failing, then my gc2 dying when I was trying to connect and I didn't realize it for 20 minutes. Also didn't realize you need to check your using tgc in the pro tee interface. 3 hours today finally after I got my key but I got it working and I'm pretty pleased overall. My carry distances are within a few yards on most shots which is what I was worried about.

Any idea why the gc2 will display numbers then it stopped doing it. I went into foresight to test out some shots then back to tgc and my numbers were no longer showing up on my gc2 not sure how to change that setting?

The numbers should be there as long as FSX isn’t running.

Got it to connect finally today after messing around with it all day. My knee is sore so I took a day off swinging. I had to open up com 3 in order for the GC2 to even been seen by my bluetooth dongle. I just uninstalled all the bluetooth crap and then disabled my internal bluetooth. Opened up com and finally got the gc2 to be seen by my bluetooth. It would pair but wouldn't connect, wouldn't show me foresight under incoming com3 port and I had to add the com4 port.

So my unit is less than 5' away from my computer. No way it could be too far away. Just to try I moved the gc2 literally next to the computer. Unpaired it and re tried. it connected right away, had both com ports showing up as they should be. Went into fsx and it connected. Moved the gc2 back to the original location, tried to connect and it wouldn't. So yes, proximity to your unit is big I would say. Ordering a extension cable for the dongle but at least after messing around with bluetooth for like 30 hours I got it to connect. All for that 5% driver boost lmfao! Having trouble with step 4. Not seeing where I can see the Bluetooth serial ports. I tried through device manager as well and not seeing that? Also I don’t have a Bluetooth dongle yet, was trying to get it to work with the built in blue tooth on my laptop? Also I input my license number into the protee golf interface, I read somewhere that said I also needed to do it with gsx? Is that true? If so where?

Does a specific blue tooth adapter work better then another? I see mention of the asus bt500? Looks like I can get the asus bt400 from Amazon tomorrow, but the 500 would take a little longer. I also see a few that say long range and have external antennae’s?

Consider myself pretty technical and went through all the steps (including the troubleshooting, re-pairing) but still can't get TGC2019 to register any shots. FR1 works fine (via bluetooth). Using the recommended Asus BT-400 connected to an extension cable so it sits right next to the GC2/HMT.

GSX shows input and output status as connected (and green bubble is lit on top right)

Com ports are correct. In my case, COM3 is outgoing and COM4 is incoming, so I have it set accordingly in GSX (hence the green lights).

When I hit a putt (practice green in TGC19), it shows blank fields (-) on the GC2, but I see the camera flashing. Nothing happens in TGC19.

Any thoughts? Have also tried the GC2 to TGC (alt interface to GSX) and had the same results over BT.

Thanks mthunt! I tried direct connecting over USB using your app and I was getting readings on the GC2, but still nothing in TGC2019. The cmd prompt even showed the data from each strike..

Are there any settings in TGC itself that need to be updated if you are transferring platforms? I just moved from Skytrak and am trying to get my GC2 set up. Im using the regular console, not the skytrak interface I would have used previously. ProTee and GSX both appear to be properly linked and are displaying the same data I’m seeing on my GC2 display. Shots are just not registering in TGC. Appreciate any advice you might have. Thanks!

There are two steps prior to opening TGC2019

Open the ProTee Golf Interface. It wil likely go straight to the system tray and won't open but that's fine.

Open GSX and move the slide connect to ON. Make sure that both green indicators come on. Can take a few seconds.

Thanks for the time you took to respond. It was helpful to re-affirm what I was doing. Turns out I didn’t see (or select) the TGC drop down in protee. I had updated the toggle for TGC in GSX, but totally missed the ProTee option.

Anyone having issues in getting kicked out randomly? Played 16 holes, after my shot, my opponent tried to go but it would not register. Checked the GSX and it said it was connected and showed my last shot. Exited and rebooted GSX and stated Input was disconnected but output was green. Tried multiple times and nothing.

Tried exited the game and saved, went back to resume and of course my opponent is no longer there but still could not get the GSX to see the GC2.

What should I be looking at?

This happened yesterday with 3 players and 5 holes into a round. GC2 was reading, GSX said connected, but when I turned it off and on to reconnect the input would not connect. Re-booted and was able to connect and get back into the the game but of course the 2 guests were not there anymore. My question, why did it freeze (what should I be looking for, and when you have to reboot, is there a way to save all players to resume the current round. Thanks.

I am not able to get the GSX to connect. Setup for COM4 (confirmed in BT settings). When I move the slider in GSX, it says "WARNING: Output Connection Refused -> Check settings!". I've set up the Protee Golf Interface to external. Interface is minimized in the tray. Unit is on. Help!

Resolved the output connection (Forgot to save the External Data slider in the interface), but input connection still shows disconnected. Show do I get this to input connection to clear?

Connection refused is the connection to ProTee Interface. The other two are connection to GC2 and PC. If both are not Connected the ball won’t fly. The issue is always the Bluetooth port for the GC2. You should show two in settings. incoming and outgoing. Outgoing is the one that works. If it has an issue unpair and pair again.
