Irregardless of what's been said before I think its clear that changes need to be made so if anyone is near your optishot you could do some testing. Whilst we discuss and get this ironed out. Im away so cant do it.
Why not hit some drives at your normal swing speed and list some numbers so we got somewhere to start
For this starting point we will accept that peoples optishots read swing speed correctly. I appreciate for some this may not be the case but thats something we cant really work on right now

I am going to play 92% speed with my woods from now on. Previously I have said that I will so it as soon as the others do it. I have now decided to do it anyway as a few people have their knickers in a twist because they think nobody should be bombing it 350yd. In a way they are right. I don't like the fact that I was singled out though cause I have always been the one "if someone can do it he can do it". I don't think this thread is being very constructive in the last 5 odd pages. I'm probably not helping with this post bug here goes... What I was trying to do in the morning was to take what one thinks he can swing out of the equation and just get a second opinion from another machine. The truth is the most important factor here... Not what we believe the truth to be. I am lucky enough to have a another way to measure club head speeds and the numbers are plain and simple. On average optishot is reading around 9mph my too much @ 119 mph true swing speed. Personally I believe this 8% down from 100% will probably on average affect my scores by about 2-3 shots per round. I will hit a fairway bunker here and there and I'll be approaching from further out so I'll just be slightly further from the flag at every point of the hole. I think putting is far too easy on slow and medium slow (I shot 64) and far too hard on fast (I shot 98) Medium and medium fast are good (I'm shooting around par) and I feel my putting results are realistic at those speeds. I'm going to be brutally honest here. I don't think people actually know what they are averaging in the real world. I think that they are pacing the bombs they hit and basing their reality on the good shots and not their average. I think everyone should probably play at 92% woods speed for best Realism. Should everyone play 92% for best optishot experience is a different matter. I'm not quite sure we even know which we are looking to achieve here....

I thinks Brad has made a good suggestion here without even trying.... As players we should take the time to do this for the best interest of the Sport, The Board will discuss the language that needs to be in the Guidelines...Originally posted by braycobb View PostI would propose that we ask everyone do their best to tweak their settings to real world results. I spent over an hour this morning re-calibrating and verifying settings. On the range, all of my clubs are extremely close to my real world results. I then went and played 9 holes at Warwick using Round 1 environment settings. For the most part, my results were very much "real world" distances. I did find that the wind affects distance more than what I would have expected.
I fully understand the hard part will be the "monitoring". That is just something we will have to deal with on a case by case basis.
I will do this as well to get speed and distance to my real swing before next round...

I know it's not track man but this Is exactly what I was trying to this morning. This is what I feel everyone should do. My swing sense system was less than EUR 100 and gives a solid second opinion.Originally posted by ZmaxWilly, Maybe just post a video of you on a Trackman or GC2 showing your swing and ball data with carry at the same time. Perhaps this will silence the critics once and for all. It sounds like your settings at 100 are accurate for you but not for most guys?

Aurincoynen, I sincerely apologize for starting the topic regarding your swing speed in particular. It was not my intention to "single you out". I thought we could have a constructive conversation and once and for all put this behind us by making appropriate adjustments. That was the end goal, not to single you or anyone else out.Originally posted by Aurincoynen View PostI don't like the fact that I was singled out though cause I have always been the one "if someone can do it he can do it".

I think youve hit the nail on the head in many ways Auri, your particular swing speed reads fast, but Im pretty confident (only based on recent driver fitting however) that mine reads true
It is with that in mind why i was thinking the distance measurement would be the one to change, as I know vega and cat are confident theirs reads speed correctly but distance is far too high for the swing speed they have
This im pretty sure is the case in most peoples setups and a flaw in the software.
It is with that in mind that i wanted to try and find what distance percentage setting gives a driving distance of 2.47 x Swing Speed.
If and when we find that, can only be down to individuals to decide how accurate their swing speed reads, based on what info they have. I have mine set at 93 to give me 265 total distance at 105 swing speed. I equate this at 240 carry and 10% rollout.
Not youve set your speed % to read what you are pretty sure (probably surer than most) is correct be interested to see what distance you hit and if that is indeed the 2,47 x Swing speed that I am pretty sure is the correct calculation

JohnMeyer......I spent quite a bit of time at the range this more re-calibrating and verifying settings to try and match my real world results.
Her are the settings that gave me very close results:
Callaway X Hot Driver (9.5 degree): 270 yds (104 +- 3 mph normal ave.)
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 95%
Callaway X Hot 3 Wood (15 degree): 240 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour 3 Hybrid: 205 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 95%
Callaway Razr X Tour 4 Hybrid: 195 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 95%
Callaway Razr X Tour 5 Iron: 180 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour 6 Iron: 170
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour 7 Iron: 160 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour 8 Iron: 150 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour 9 Iron: 140 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour PW: 125 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway Razr X Tour GW (52 degree): 110 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 100%
Callaway X Series JAWS CC Wedge (56 degree): 75 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 85%
Callaway X Series JAWS CC Wedge LW (60 degree): 60 yds
Swing Speed: 100%
Distance: 85%
In a practice round at Warwick, I found the 6mph wind pushed my drives ~10 yds.

That rings very true with mine as I set to 93% and get 260 ish, I use x2 hot at 10.5
be interesting what Auri's comes out at at 92 Speed but 100 distance

No hard feelings bud. It's an important debate. For what it's worth I think we should cap at 92% or so unless everyone's optishot is reading things differently. If this is the case then I'm not really very impressed by the quality DD is producing. This can't really be the case though cause it seems to be reading irons right for everyone.... The bottom line is that we need to be playing it as realistic as possible. Getting fairway bunkers in to play would be a good start.Originally posted by BuckeyeAurincoynen, I sincerely apologize for starting the topic regarding your swing speed in particular.
