Really butchered that round, +6 in the last 6 holes to go +6 total. Some really silly mistakes and a couple of average bogeys, felt I played a lot better than +6 today.

And another +4 in the last few holes today for a +5 total. Really didn't feel like a +11 tournament, but there you go.

Pics or it didn't happen! Also, agree to disagree - sounds like a great round!
Why can't I attach the photo of my busted garage window to this reply, or am I an idiot? Anyway, https://golfsimulatorforum.com/forum...he-dining-room

I just got skytrak and TGC a few weeks ago. I played a round on this tour and I'm blown away by the scores. I'm a 3 handicap but my scores are WAY higher than most on this game. I'm racking up a ton of strokes on chipping and putting. Several holes I tripled after being just off the green in reg. Is the short game just something you get used to? Currently it has me as a 20+ handicap. Is there some trick to making the putting and chipping easier?

Your scores will start to drop quickly once you get the feel of chipping and putting. I'm also in MI in metro detroit area.

Thanks! I'm in GR but from the east side.

What about spin? Every iron I hit into a green lands and rolls 10+ yards instead of sticking. Not what I'm used to on a real course. Is that typical?

Agree, you get used to it fairly quickly. I'm not very good IRL...maybe a 15-17 HC. Usually shoot 87-92 on an average course. If I play a tough course or in tough conditions, I can easily shoot 95-100+. I just shot 74-74 in the tour event on Arcadia Bluffs this week. I played there a few years ago and not sure I broke 110. If I played there today I would probably experience the same. I think Sim golf is 20-30 shots easier than real golf. If you are a 3 IRL, you wont find 20 shots difference, but you will likely be routinely under par I think.

There are patches that address these issues. The green configuration patch allows you to set your desired Stimp, Green Speed, and Firmness. If you are talking around the green when pitching, there is a setting you can change called short game correction i believe it is, that will allow chips and pitches to have spin. The problem with that is chips under 12 yads sometimes can be tough for your launch monitor to read. Also there is a patch that allows for straight putting. It doesnt make it as easy as it sounds to drain putts, but you will know the putt you hit is always starting on its desired path.

We have created a quick TGC Patch for those who want to play around with the Green Configuration. This patch will update the server component to version 3.0.1

I sometimes will look at the adjacent squares to see if there is any slope and if there is will assume there is some tiny amount of break and adjust accordingly. I know the frustration of missing a 10 footer when TCG says it is straight, but lies.

Got me one of those last night in the tourney. it broke right at the end and bit me. DirtyGarry24 got a good read on it though, so the good news is, he owes me one now!

Lol, I owe you one? I gave the entire field 4 shots when I got stuck in that dang log! It was lonely and dark in there too.

spartan15msu The spin issue is a problem some of us see. I have really struggled with this lately, anything above a 7 iron forget it, won't hold no matter what. Now i'm getting issues with 8 and 9 irons as well. It will land and then roll 20yds, happened a lot in last weeks event. Last night i hit five iron into green, hit in front of green one hop on and then rolled 35+yds. It literally looks like the ball has massive forward spin after it lands from a bounce. It's starting to get ridiculous. I'm going to try and play around with the settings to see if I can improve this because it's ABSOLUTELY no where near anything in real life. Keep in the mind the firmness setting does not matter as it doesn't override the course designers setting.

This week’s course has very firm greens that don’t hold much. Some courses have greens that are realistic, and some are so firm that your ball actually speeds up as it runs out on the green.

Its going to differ from course to course, The designer's settings are what matters most when it comes to firmness of the greens. Try playing "The Fortress" that is a course i recreated and set the green firmness down to about a 2, on a scale of 1 to 10.

The other tournament course this week is better than this one. Probably why it also contributes to the lower scoring on that one.

Yeah, this week doesn't hold at all above a 6i or so, had several land short and go long. On 2 I hit a cracking 2nd shot, thought I may have a really decent eagle chance, but it kicked a little left. Then it went further left. Then it hit a hill, still near the middle of the green, and eventually it was in the bunker. 30y from the hole.

A ball that lands short releases more than one that lands on. TGC greens are super firm

They're not always super firm. Royal Melbourne was beyond what is realistic as far as firmness. Arcadia's greens were much more realistic.

BadEddieKit what other Michigan courses have you created? Is there a way for me to search for courses that you created?

Just looking for some courses to try that I have played or I'm going to play. If there's not a ton, please list all your course names so I can check them out. Thanks man. Didn't want to PM you in case others are interested as well.
