Tough course. I got a bit screwed on a couple par 3's by the wonky drop rules when you put it in the water. Both times I hit it in the water off the tee it put me back on the tee. Tough to read the greens on a snowy course. Had fun, though. I'll play my 2nd round soon.

For realism there should not have been water - should have been ice!

I actually played once where I could confirm that my ball had landed in the water, even though I hadn't seen it land. It was so cold that the water had skimmed over with a thin layer of ice. There was a perfect golf ball sized hole in the thin layer of ice... needless to say we were one of only a few crazies playing that day, so no doubt that was where my ball had landed!

Can I participate even though I have not completed Q-School? I have a TGC handicap just not Q-school

Yep. As long as you have a TGC handicap your good to play.

          Dear Protee,

Please kindly advise which handicap will be used for folks that have both the TGC HCP (i.e., game HCP) and the 2015 Tour HCP? The Tour HCP was mentioned here in the first post, but the TGC HCP was mentioned in the provided link in the same post. Thanks.

You need at least a TGC handicap. The tour handicap is based on your TGC handicap and is more accurate.

Say you have a TGC handicap of 36 and you play rounds of 75, then we adjust your handicap manually to 5 or 6 for the tour.

Wow, not really a fan of the winter course on the simulator. It looked really nice but was very difficult for me to play. I couldn't make out any of the breaks on the green and a few times couldn't even see where the hole was. Couple that with a number of times being in the rough where I was buried to about 30-50% and small fairways and the round was a complete disaster. Was the rough so deep just b/c how the course was designed or is that a "feature" of winter golf rough?

Sunday I shot my first ever sub 80 round (a 78 in Qschool) and I think on this course I was 25 over or something through 14 holes when I decided to call it quits for the night and go to sleep. I'll try and get through the 3 rounds but don't know if I'll do anymore Winter courses after this.

That par 3 on Flin Flon..... Played it 3 times 6 over, 7 over , birdie. It is sick to put trees in front of a small green surrounded by water. Some of the greens are hard to read.... even hard to see the hole after you putt. You will see some high scores on that hole.

Made it through the 3 rounds (played 2.5 of them today). As I said in the other post, I'm not a huge fan of the Winter courses on the simulator but at least I had a nice hole out from 132 in my second round for an eagle 2. Takes the sting out of all the four putts...

Only finished one round +32. Hurt my wrist (and my pride) and should not have even played. Nothing went right. I am going to rest a few days. Last place does not feel so good. Well, it was my first event so at least I got the first round jitters out of the way.

No way boerdoc I have last place locked up - I'm winning all the last places - I had a crash on my bike 4 weeks ago and hurt my left wrist and I'm just starting to play and having to use a wrist brace to even hit a ball sucks. But anyways just have fun

Man that's a drag. Hope your wrist gets better soon.

Is it generally easier to hole out in TGC then it is in real life? I had the 132 yard hole out for eagle yesterday and a 78 yard hole out (on Pebble Beach ProTee version) for eagle the round before. That was two hole outs for eagle in three rounds. In real life I've only had two hole outs in my life (17 years of playing). I also have been having more chip-ins then I'll normally have. Not that I'm complaining, just wondering.

I think a lot of things are easier in sim golf than real golf for obvious reasons.

Main reason is randomness of first bounce and the lie your hitting from.

For that reason I tend to chip more than not when on the fridge near the hole in TGC. I've had a bunch of chip ins. I've practiced before on approach shots on different courses where I hit say from 120 yards about 50+ times, have not holed out yet. So I thinks it's luck, not to diminish any "skill" required to hit it close.

I've also been playing for 20+ years, and have only holed out from about 80 yards IRL.
