  • New Tournament Site (BETA)

As you know we are working on a new Tournament website. Unfortunately we are still working on it and it still needs a lot work, but those who are interested can have a quick look: http://golfsimulatortours.com .

You do not need to login or create a new account. You can click the Player Name on a Leader Board on the tour site to see the scorecards.

Under your profile settings on THIS FORUM you can connect your TGC name to your forum name. If you use the exact name you use in TGC, your Forum Avatar, Biography, Home Course, Current Handicap (real life handicap) and Favorite TGC Course will show on the tour site. Do not change your TGC name in the game...

This is great! A few things:
The number of putts on the scorecards - that can't be right can it? Are gimmies not included as putts? They should be.
I can't click on players names on the world rankings page, it appears to be a link but goes nowhere.
    Thanks for this!

Thanks. How about putts those need to include gimmies?

I have a skytrak, where do i turn on record shots? I went into the skytrak TGC settings file which looks like a notepad file and changed record shots from OFF to ON and then saved the file. However, I don't see any shots from my last round of this tournament. I did this before i launched the TGC skytrak interface or whatever it's called prior to starting the final round.

You need to copy the USER ID from the settings file (looks like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and paste it into your FORUM profile settings. Also enter you TGC name in your profile settings and everything will be linked up (see first post).

I copied the id but not my name. Just did that hopefully it'll show up for next tournament round.

That should work. Hit one or two shots on the next tournament and check the tour site. If configured correctly your shots should appear immediately.

I just turned on shot recording and played the championship round 1 and 2 . The hardest thing is to remember to select the clubs. At the moment I'm about the distance TGC shows but off the tee and out of the bunker it's sometimes totally different from what I'm hitting. So some of my clubs will be totally messed up hahahaha but great feature protee !!!!!!

I thought about that too. I'm not used to selecting the clubs.

Thanks, getting better and better. I'm hoping to get into the single digit handicap by the end of the year :-) I have been playing IRL last weekend and shot my lowest round on a real course with an 82. This tournament was my 2nd time ever in the 70s. Really enjoying my game at the moment. A lot of things left to improve but lots of fun.

Nice shooting Sascha. You are going to be tough to beat. I stopped half way through my second round and it would take a bunch of birdies and maybe one eagle for me to catch you. My second round is no where near my first. Just got home from a real life round..... of 82. The drive was working today for sure. I was 10/14 fairways today. My Gir's were not as good. I am going to clean the clubs and maybe try a practice hole.... before finishing my tournament. Sometimes after a real life round, I am too sore to swing anymore.

Update..... I was too sore..... but played anyway and shot an 81..... not a good score for me on a course like this. Had some misreads with 0 degree LA.... a little frustrating for sure. I even put a 7 iron off the tee into the water...... the whole point of using an iron is so things like that don't happen.

I love the new site's potential. Great work.

I am having trouble with a couple things. I did copy and paste my ID into this forum's settings. I noticed that in this forum "boerdoc" is not capitalized but it is in http://golfsimulatortours.com .

I just changed it in this forum's profile copied below. Is there any way to change "boerdoc" in this forum to capitalize "B" so that it all matches???

The reason I ask is that my tournament round did not record my shots and I did change that in TGC settings before starting the server and restarting TGC.

            TGC GOLF TOUR
Your TGC Golf Tour details (this data will be kept private)
            TGC Nickname

Enter your TGC nickname so we can find you in game.

            Second,

I cannot login to http://golfsimulatortours.com . My name is listed but my login does not work. The "Trouble signing in" is disabled.

I don't think anyone can sign in. You see your stats by finding your "ID / nickname" and clicking on it.

No need to sign in anymore. Everything is linked up through this forum.
Your shots are recording and displayed on the tour site, so you're all set.

If you have shot recording switched on and configured you can now also see your non-tour shot recordings. Apply a date filter to view shots on a specific date.

Btw, shots for your guest players are also recorded. This is the reason why you see the TGC Player name listed here. Make sure you give your guest player a name and don't forget to enter the same name when he/she returns.

Fantastic, This makes the data much more manageable. That is a funny page. It shows a couple of misreads. I had a camera that was hit by a rolling ball that needed to reset.

Don't forget you can export all data to CSV, which you can import into Excel.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but how are you all planning to use the data from recorded shots? Don't get me wrong, I'm a numbers guy and think that having extra data available and being able to filter it different ways are great. I also love that ProTee is so committed to improving the online play experience. I just can't come up with how I can make use of ball speed, launch angle/direction, and spin to lower my scores.

If someone has made an excel document to analyze the data and extract some other information, I would be very interested.

                Here are some ideas:

1] Try to get more driver distance.

Start a practice session and hit driver shots. Focus on launch angle, back spin and ball speed. Try to lower the launch angle, decrease back spin and increase ball speed. This will increase distance significantly. Use the data to track progress or use in real time so see the effect of body movement.

2] Try to get more control over back spin with wedges.

More or less back spin will make the difference between stop where it lands and roll off the green completely. Use the data to see the effect of different type of shots and different type of balls.

                3] Track progress over time.

Track ball speed for specific clubs over time and find out if its consistent, all over the place or getting better each day.
