New Tournament Site (BETA)

As you know we are working on a new Tournament website. Unfortunately we are still working on it and it still needs a lot work, but those who are interested can have a quick look: http://golfsimulatortours.com .

You do not need to login or create a new account. You can click the Player Name on a Leader Board on the tour site to see the scorecards.

Under your profile settings on THIS FORUM you can connect your TGC name to your forum name. If you use the exact name you use in TGC, your Forum Avatar, Biography, Home Course, Current Handicap (real life handicap) and Favorite TGC Course will show on the tour site. Do not change your TGC name in the game...

So can non-hardware owners play in the tour? For example there are three slots available when I play my tournament rounds each week. Could three people come in and play with me and be on the tour as well? Would I even have to play with them? Could four people come in off the street and play in the tour each week?

One of my buddies really wants to play on the tour as well. Maybe you could add a small registration fee for guest players. My friend would throw the money at you pretty quick.

We only track the scoring, handicap and stats of the 1st player. Not the guest players. This might change in the future.

I'm one BIG vote for hoping to see that change in the future. Would LOVE to have the ability to have more folks join in even if we had to pay a small fee to help you with your server costs. I know that probably wouldn't be a cheap endeavor!

this is all extremely awesome.

here are my quick requests, suggestions, questions.


- Could the date be shortened and the time added (for sorting purposes)
- What shots are recorded for non-tournament play? All shots? Only shots from completed rounds? Rewinds?
- (probably a 'next release' question, but can the clubs & carry distances in the game be modified by the user? I would like to have my actual clubs that I use on the list and would like to modify the carry distances to match (my) reality. Only really an issue when you cannot select the club you are using and then go back to look at the data.
- Please add Shot Distance to the recorded shot data.

We changed the date format. The time you see is the local server time (which is UTC+1). To get the right time we will need all your time zones ;-) Not sure if this is doable...

For non-tournament play all shots are shown except the tournament shots.

Oh and yes, same question as above (or similar), how do I handle a local friend who wants to play on tour with my sim? I'm not buying him a copy of TGC and he's not buying a sim.

Yep, saw my trophy from the PGA championship. Even a fake one is cool. Also, finally got my shot recording to work - had to make my screen name all lower case. This is great new site and I will write it again. if you have a skytrak you have 4 option I believe to buy sim software - TGC is the best by far with these "extras"

If mention already I missed it but GIR is messed up because putt count is messed up due to gimmies not counting as a putt.

hey protee, can you combine my user names? sometimes the neighborhood kids play in my garage and i'd change my avatar's name to one of theirs and i when i would change it back, i would just put whatever popped into my head.

i see inor, and inorkuo listed on the tournament site but i played a few holes of the latest tournament this morning as Inor Kuo. sorry for the trouble. i'll stick with Inor Kuo from now on.

The name in the settings file is your TGC registration name. You can not change this. By default TGC will show your registration name. You can change this to your nickname.

I have not joined the TGC tourney yet as I am new to TGC and trying to get used to it all. I have a skytrak. I see on the tgc interface you can increase drive and club distance. Will that translate to the tournament play? If so, that would seem odd. Should this not be about the ablity you have. I'm not a long hitter but a low'ish hdc. Maybe I'm not really understanding this yet? If I normally hit it 250 off the box, why turn it up so I can hit 300 yd drives for competition? I'm not sure if there is a limit on increasing distance.

A few players have stated that their Skytrak is a little light on distance. Others will tell you that it is spot on. If you hit it 250 IRL but the ball never goes farther than 220 in TGC..... then it would be ok to add the appropriate % to match your outdoor game. There is a list of tournament rules somewhere.... Maybe ProTee can post a link.
