I encountered an issue on high launch shots. With my 60 degree lob wedge I was hitting chip and pitch shots. Let's say I gradually increase the launch angle by opening the club head. For example, 28 LA at first, 32, 38, 40..(they all look good on SkyTrak). Now I open more club head to hit a shot anticipating a 45ish degree launch angle, but SkyTrak is not able to catch it. So, I start over from 20ish degree, but after 40ish SkyTrak doesn't register my shots. 44 is the highest LA I got registered. I am not sure, but I don't think my shot suddenly launches at more than 60 degrees. (SkyTrak claims that 60 is the highest launch angle it can capture.)
Does anybody see a similar thing?

Finally back from a much needed break with the family. Thank you for your patience while I was out. I've finally made it through everything I missed on the forum and am happy to read that most of you either received your units or at least have them on the way. Looks like things are going well with first impressions except for one issue that is already in the works – wedges and short irons, but more specifically high spin shots.
We have already identified the issue and a solution for what you are all describing with certain high spin shots. There’s some folks on this forum that really know what they are talking about, and have correctly pointed out that the issue lies in an algorithm. Let me stress to you that this is simply a CALCULATION issue in the flight model - not a measurement issue. If you take a look at the fundamental measured launch data parameters, they will be correct for every club in your bag. This distance and club speed improvement for high spin shots will be included in a software update as soon as possible, but please understand the importance of diligently testing such a change to the flight model prior to releasing. Because Apple is closed for 2 weeks in December, I am looking at early-mid January. In the meantime, there is an interim software update coming within the next 10 days - you will soon see full release notes for this update on our site, and there is plenty more packed into this release.
That said, I need to completely devote my time now to that software update to make sure everything gets in on time. I really value all of your feedback and will be looking forward to returning to the board at a later time. But for now, please address any immediate concerns to SkyTrak customer support and follow our Facebook page and website for all the latest news, particularly on software updates. With so much going on, it's important that we consolidate our communication to one place for now.
Again, thanks to everyone for your feedback and especially to Spudly who did some awesome grunt work uploading some videos and posting a review. Contrary to popular belief, he has absolutely no affiliation to SkyTrak but he does get a big thumbs up for his efforts
Thanks,
Seth
Thanks, I appreciate that, and really do like the unit, and have an upset wife to prove it!

Let me clarify, they did not register as straight, they just did not register as far off as I was hitting them, Trust me, I can sometimes find a parking lot a mile to right!Originally posted by HoganWoods View Post
Great work on being proactive and posting here about the issues and showing your new customers that you guys will be continuing to improve the unit. It's good to see. I'm curious to know about the big push slices that register as straigher shots, the ones Spudly was talking about. Have you guys identified such an issue?

Right. Nothing is perfect. Interestingly, yesterday I hit two shanks resulting in a low push right (way right) shot and SkyTrak captured them.Originally posted by Spudly View Post

This still has me confused, I did purchase this, but I have not activated anything other than my account. What is the difference between what I have now on the Ipad that was there when I took it out of the box and hooked it up and what this upgraded package is?Originally posted by sb81 View PostHas anyone tried activating their advanced game package yet? Got an email that brings you to SkyCaddie activation but figured I would hold off for now.
I know that there are supposed to be some Bridgstone golf balls, a subcription to golf magazine and some other stuff, but what is different on the app, it seems everyone has access to the challenges and the target practice.

Only had a few minutes to play with the new toy but have some concerns.
Why does my red dot move? Sometimes it points to the front of the SkyTrak sometimes its behind? I made sure to change to a left handed golfer and initially it works but then it moves.
Also, Why does the ball go to the opposite direction I hit it? If I miss a shot right it shows it flying off to the left. Come to think of it I never did get one to show flying right. (Did a few way off line to test)
Can somebody explain alignment, elevation and levelness of the SkyTrak unit?
No response from SkyTrak with these questions so I thought I would float them out here. TIA

Hi all,
I have been watching this thread for a while and pre-ordered a while ago. Should have my unit tomorrow and will post up my own review from playing with it this weekend.
Even not having the unit yet, I'm excited about the purchase and glad that the "relatively small" issues are being addressed: High spin shots calculations, left handed usage, and some club/history and connection issues. Beyond that it looks like PC simulation is coming and I'm confident this will be a solid product in the end at a great value vs. the competitive products. For now, practice feedback with mid and long clubs looks to be spot on and that is the main thing I will be using it for.
Has anyone had success getting Skytrak on the wifi network so that internet can be used, and in my case, airplay to projector can be used? It seems some have had issues with this. I will need to get a lightning->hdmi adapter if it doesn't work.

Used mine for a good hour, pretty much same experience as others, overall pretty awesome. Does seem any flop shot over ~45 degrees is currently unreadable. Also did seem to have more non registers than most seem to report but might have to do with my new mat that is still slightly curved at the edge where the skytrak was. Also for practice the delay seems to be a non issue. Might make more of a difference during sim play if it carries over.
