Hi Seth. I'm new to this forum but have been reading as much as I can about SkyTrak on this and other forums. It seems that many experienced sim users think that The Golf Club game is the best simulator software out there right now. In fact, if I'm understanding and remembering things correctly, Bubba22 and Zmax were instrumental (please correct me if I'm wrong) in getting ProTee to integrate their sim hardware (and gc2) with The Golf Club software. So my question to you/SkyTrak is simply this: Has there been any thought to integrating SkyTrak with The Golf Club? And if so, what are the odds that this might happen? And if so, when?

I guess what I meant by Groundhogs Day is: TGC sim for ST is coming! Everyone super excited -> What computer specs do I need? Best price on such computers? -> My newly purchased supercomputer is gathering dust and still no sim in sight -> Everyone now bored and start discussing how to create excess CO2 in their house/garage -> REPEAT THE ABOVE CYCLE 2 MORE TIMES...

Even throwing Joko out there as bait doesn't get us out of this vicious cycle...

devil's advocate comment coming up => The week is not over. You guys are going to look pretty stupid a few h from now when Seth makes the BIG announcement.

I have to admit I am getting a bit frustrated . I said in November that I love my skytrak and will not abandon it as long as we get some info ones in a while about what is going on. And I'm still saying that but it is getting old.

Joko, all the signs were pointing to they were ready to release last summer/fall too when all the beta testers posted integration is ready, all works great, you guys are gonna love it. Just ask the people who had bought their supercomputers back then.
Like I have said before, for my own sanity sake, I have lowered my expectations of ST and try to take a longer time horizon than week-to-week for deliverables. Hoping they release v2.2 soon and TGC by end of 1st quarter.

Not a word. I send him a PM a while ago but I'm sure he is busy with 2.2 so he might not check the forum right now
-
Unless someone here knows him offline, he hasn't posted In about 10 days. Said he was sick. At that time they were getting ready to release v2.2 for Apple review for the App Store. Right now it is taking about 4 days on average for Apple's review for an updated app. It could be that v2.2 needs to be released before TGC is announced. Does Skytrak update firmware on the unit through their app (would firmware version 1.5 need to be released first?) Anybody here ever updated firmware?
-
Ok at the show they seem to refrain from commenting on when TGC for ST will be released, but they were showing off v2.2 of their own app like it was basically ready then. Now 2 weeks after show ended you would think the very least is that v2.2 of the app would be released by now?

I haven't even got a skytrak and I feel frustrated - their customer service is a joke, how a company can say deliverables are on the back burner because 1 member of staff is sick - what a 2 bob outfit they are! really dont want to be stuck in a cycle of paying lease fees and getting BS comments about 'coming soon' etc.... it must be unbearable for people who have had the unit for a while.
am more inclined to look into a used gc2 now due to this shambles with the rollout.

I am an early adopter. Still have a deep...like for the skytrak. And no offense because I have said this too...but saying i amgetting a gc2 instead of a skytrak like they are comparable is almost like saying I am getting an Audi A8 because an Acura tlx is crap. Gc2 and skytrak are launch monitors but they are in completely different price ranges. We all compare them regularly but I and we constantly need to remind ourselves that they aren't the same price...at all. Maybe foresight should try remotely to dip price to go after people like myself and others on this forum...but they have chosen to double down and increase their price with the sdk fee...which pains me. on eBay all the time looking at used ones but...
I would hands down tell someone interested in sim to get a gc2. If you want a well priced launch monitor with a pretty good range app get a skytrak. That's what I wanted and that's what I got. I then read this forum ALOT and wanted the sim shortly after. I constantly wonder if the gc2 would have changed my winter golf experience (it would have). I love hitting balls and practicing into my hitting area. Wasn't ready to do the full projector/impact screen so never would have gotten that but likely would have gotten tgc and a computer to go with it. At best that has me $7000 in (4 for used gc2,1 for tgc,2 for computer)...with skytrak (early adopter) I am less than 2k in counting the subscriptions(which I hate in principle). I don't know if I would be $5000 happier with a gc2...but I still want one.
But a year ago I really thought I would be able to tell all of you that skytrak is very close in experience to the gc2. Sim play, being able to practice chips and pitches (never have counted on putting to matter). Truth is it is probably not. I love it but have never had friends over to play sim golf during the winter (wgt one player)...but I love it too. I have gotten to practice all winter and work on things.
Last night my seven year old and I played the wgt challenges. Don't enjoy wgt sim play but like doing the challenges. He hits if it is less than 125yds and I hit if longer. Played for over an hour. Great fun. Full sim would likely be more fun. I guess I am writing all this because of the struggle several of us have. Is the skytrak going to be good enough to invest more in a sim room, tgc, computer, projector? I don't know and skytrak is making it so much easier for me I guess by failing to give me an option before spring is here. I will have months to evaluate getting a gc2 and spending a lot more or finding out from you guys that skytrak can handle the sim load (all shots..short shots).
-
Great post , agree with everything you say - I am trying to get a GC2 used for around $3500 my golf club has a gc2 and I love it. If skytrak sim is released and received well however I may be tempted back. Your spot on about ST maybe not being the sim experience of GC2 I think the delay alone could be a deal breaker. Still a fantastic product though for what it does, absolutely

and its a crying shame because the hardware is tremendous for the price point - so much potential

Didn't protee say it would be out this week too? If I wasn't so desperate, I'd say its comical, but im not laughing just yet... I did see on ProTee's site last night where they have some monthly subscription options posted... not sure if they are new or not, but I got excited thinking they might have been put up in anticipation for release today.. but alas... I got skytrak'ed... oh well... next week im sure

Found them here.. http://www.protee-united.com/golfsimulator/pricing
not sure if they are applicable, but hoping so
subscription paid annually, but still would be more palatable than dropping 1k on...
-
I have seen that last year late summer already and got all excited but then they told me that it doesn't support skytrak yet and the skytrak one will have to be ordered through skygolf.
-
From what protee was saying last week it will be the Subscription for 2 years or the one time purchase. Makes sense cause both will end up being around 1k

Nope, still going strong with my propane heater at least, no I'll effects and no alarms, like 3 hours a night playing in it, carbon monoxide for life baby! Nice and easy heat...Science! Haha.....And yea, have skytrak ever releases anything over the weekend before? Maybe there is still 2 more days of hope, not holding my breath though (even in my garage either)

This whole release should be made into a Twilight Zone, We all buy skytrak with high hopes of happy simulation, then we keep on waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and finally they release WGT and you can play with your best friend aka yourself. You finally get on the green and then you start putting from about 20ft away, then 19ft away then 18ft, etc.. Maybe by the time you get the ball in the hole 2071, they will release TGC.
